Environmentally friendly products
Today at Gorenje, energy used for the production of an appliance is ten times less than in 2000, despite the fact that appliances are now far more technologically advanced. In todays consumer driven society, household appliances are often purchased on price and appearance, rather than the impact on the environment of the production process, energy usage of the appliance, and when it reaches the end of its life, how much can be recycled. Appliances which are over ten years old may still continue to work, but they consume energy on average 25% higher than a similar appliance produced today. In Europe there are 188 million household appliances in use, over 10 years old, replacing them would be good for the environment as well as offering significant cost savings in reduced energy use. Refrigerators and freezers are switched on 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A new refrigerator of the lowest energy class consumes only a quarter of the electricity used on average by a refrigerator purchased in the 1990s. Annual consumption of a 1990 refrigerator amounts to approx 100, which means 1500 in 15 years. Annual electricity consumption of a new refrigerator of the lowest energy class is only approx 25 per year or 375 over 15 years. Lower consumption of electricity and consequently lower energy bills means money can be saved each year. In this way each of us can personally contribute to reduce the CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and thus protect the environment. Gorenjes cutting edge Frost Free Advantage technology circulates chilled air around the storage areas, reducing the level of humidity in the freezer to prevent the formation of ice on food items and in the appliance interior. Frozen items dont stick together, which provides a better overview of the freezer contents, while even temperature control helps to preserve the quality, colour and aroma of the stored food. No accumulated ice means optimal utilisation of the storage space; also, the need for time consuming defrosting is completely eliminated. In addition to upright freezers, this technology is also incorporated in Gorenjes fridge freezers. A key advantage of the Gorenje Frost Free system when used in a fridge freezer, is it effectively eliminates moisture from the freezer section only, whilst maintaining the correct level of humidity in the fridge section. Three simple steps is all it takes cooking has never been easier! After turning the oven on, make your selection by touching the symbol indicating the dish you want to cook, then press Start (see below chart for options available). Numerous preset programmes automatically set the right combination of heating elements, temperature and cooking time. Large and clearly recognizable symbols make the oven easy to use while still leaving you the freedom to set all cooking parameters (heating element, temperature, cooking time, meat probe) according to your preferences and cooking ability. Your favourite settings can be stored in the memory and simply recalled when you use the oven next. A Child Safety Lock is an additional advantage of the electronic module preventing unsupervised use of the oven.
