ASSEMBLING, STITCHING, AND FINISHING DETAILS: Seam allowance: 1/2" unless otherwise noted. *RST = Right Sides Together *WST = Wrong Sides Together *Flat-lining is stitching 2 layers of fabric cut to the same shape and grain to use as one piece of fabric. It provides strength and a lining layer without having to make a separate lining. *To prevent fraying, finish the edges by serging, zigzagging, pinking, binding, or sewing another row of stitching close to the edge.
Divider and Tabs 1. Fold tabs RST lengthwise, stitch 2 short sides together, clip corners and turn right side out. 2. Center and sandwich tabs between divider fabric (shorter ones on side seams and longer one on bottom seam), RST, and stitch the 3 tabbed edges together, clip corners and turn right side out. 3. Stitch Velcro to tabs. 4. Insert plastic canvas inside divider. Fold open edge under and topstitch to close or fold edge under and leave edge open to insert zipper facing. Base 1. Stitch 1" strips of Velcro to right side of one of the base pieces, approximately 1 1/2" in from the 4 corners. 2.
