Thanks to an ingenious hook mechanism, the backboards stick securely to the wall during use, but can be easily removed without damaging paint or plaster. Everything needed for the game is included in the set, and it can be used alone or with a group. The more kids (or adults) that play, the more room needed.

The paper and the markers included are of high quality. The markers come in great colours and the book contains a good variety of colouring pages and activities. The colouring and activity pad is great for travel and is a good back-up to have in waiting rooms and restaurants. NOTE: Each activity is explained in English and French, but children may need adult assistance to understand the objective of some activities. The Healthy Snack Chef kit comes with a cookbook, colourcoded measuring cups and spoons, a kid-friendly serrated knife and mixing bowl so children can make no-bake snacks. The cookbook features easy step-by-step recipes that coordinate with the colour-coded cups, spoons, and bowls. Kids are proud of their culinary creations and like having their own kitchen tools, which they can use to help parents prepare other meals. While the recipes are easy to follow, the cookbook layout can be overwhelming, and some of the requested ingredients are not staples in the typical cupboard.

Children pour the aqua sand into the plastic playground and add water, which in turn shapes the sand into interesting shapes. Kids can then use the landscape as a fun setting for the three little penguins that come with the set. If that sounds fun, just imagine if the sand never actually got wet! Aqua sand may become lots of neat shapes in water, but it always stays dry, allowing it to be reused again and again. Children can even mix the two included colours and sculpt the sand, making spirals and other fantastic forms. A hand pump allows kids to circulate the water through the landscape. The entire playground is durable and compact, and the aqua sand stimulates creativity. It can, however, be difficult to separate the two colours of sand when they are mixed, and cleanup requires parental assistance.

R8164 With this set, a Hot Wheels car can roll down one of two slides on a floating island platform: one has a ramp to make the car jump into the bath or pool, and the other has a switch that sends the car spiraling downward and into the water. A water sprinkler is also built into the island platform, which sprays water via a blue pump button. The set comes with one toy car and a boat that can be used to catch the car when it goes zooming off one of the slides, or to transport it across water. The boat will sink if additional cars are added. Kids enjoy playing with this set wet or dry.

HOT WHEELS CUSTOM MOTORS - AUTO SHOP MATTEL CANADA INC. T0235 It may look like a suitcase, but open this playset up and it's an auto shop that is ready to customize Hot Wheels custom motors cars. It contains a fuel pump, lift, hoist and a car launcher that will fire a car off at high speed. Children can lay out the shop however they like, and the pieces are easily moved around for different configurations. The shop does lack a vehicle, however. While it can be used with normal Hot Wheels or Matchbox cars, this set needs a Hot Wheels custom motors car to realize its full potential. Kids have fun customizing a Hot Wheels car by snapping it together in new and exciting combinations. With 15 interchangeable parts, ranging from different tires to spoilers, there are over 100 possible combinations for children to build. The pieces are easy to add or remove, and when complete, the assembled car is solid and rolls smoothly. While the car can be used on its own, kids have really enjoy combining play with other custom motor sets. Children who like cars have lots of fun playing with the mobile pit stop play set. The set comes with 30 interchangeable parts, so children can build and customize their car. Once built, the cars stay together well, although some pieces are difficult to pull apart. After the car is complete, kids can make it perform stunts by using the launcher and ramp. At the end of the day, all parts can be stored in the toy's trailer. NOTE: The car and truck cannot be built at the same time.

Children simply snap the pieces together to construct Batman's iconic cave, which includes a hidden door, rock facade, ladders, control panel and the Batmobile. Children love the theme and the details of the control panel, and this set offers lots of variety, either on its own or when combined with other TRIO sets. It's a complex set, however, and the pieces can be difficult to snap together and do not always always stay together. Younger children may require adult assistance when assembling it.

This is an amazing house for Polly Pocket! With stairs, a slide, and over 20 different accessories, this three-story house is great for stimulating imaginative play. It features a closet for all of Polly's fashions, a number of hiding places and an indoor swing. The sheer variety of play options makes it very popular with children, and the open concept makes it easy to use. While the package suggests three dolls are included, there is actually only one that comes with the playset, but other Polly Pocket toys can be used. NOTE: The included doll comes with one pair of clothes.

Easy to use in the car or doctor's office, the toy features volume control and eight different activities. This is an excellent entry-level handheld toy for younger children. NOTE: Three AA batteries required. This attractive pink and blue toy features eight activities designed to teach letters, words, shapes, and logic. Children can also send and receive messages from the princesses. However, the graphics tend to be of poor quality and the skill levels required to play the games are wildly divergent from very basic to challenging even for adults. This game lets children test their hand-eye coordination as players attempt to catch all three fish of a particular colour in the fastest time using a wooden fishing pole. Enjoyable played alone or with three others, the game is an excellent way to improve hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness and concentration. The rules are also simple enough that house rules can be introduced to increase the difficulty of the game for older players. It's like laundry but actually fun! Players draw a card from the deck before reaching into the model dryer to try and find the matching clothing item. Kids who find the item can keep the card, but must watch out for the skunk's underwear card, or they will lose one of the cards that were earned! The player with the most cards wins this enjoyable family game for two to four players. Each of the pieces of clothing is cute and well-detailed, and the instructions are very simple. Set-up is a snap and when the game is over, the pieces simply store inside the dryer! At roughly 30 minutes long, each game is fast to play, and house rules can reduce that time by requiring receiving fewer cards in order to win.

In this fun little game for two to six players, children roll a die and feed the piggy chef a number of burgers equal to the number, pressing down on his chef hat for each one he eats. The more he eats, the more likely he is to explode, and if he pops on a player's turn, that player loses. The game is quick, easy, and fun for a variety of different ages, and the element of surprise when the pig explodes ensures that each game is different. The pig and the little burgers are very durable, and they handle both explosions and pumping well during play. ***Childrens Choice Award 2011*** This little piggy has game! This fun, fast-paced game for two to four players starts with 60 cards being dealt equally to all players. Players take turns flipping over a card from their pile, and when two cards match numbers and at least one colour, the players race to stack the number of pigs equal to the number on the card. The snouts of the pigs must match the colour on the card, and each round is made more challenging by the roll of a special die, which indicates how the pigs may be held when they are stacked. Sometimes they can only be stacked with one hand, or only held by their ears! The wooden pigs are bright and colourful, and the cards are durable and very clearly marked. The game is excellent for improving number skills and fine motor control, and the aspect of matching colours is excellent practice for younger players. Roughly 10 minutes per game to play. This toy combines puzzle and imaginative play. Children must take the pieces and put them together as a puzzle, or link the edge pieces together to build interesting landscapes as a backdrop for exciting adventures with the animals (the remaining pieces). Each set consists of between 13 and 18 handcrafted wooden pieces, each of which is roughly 20 mm thick. Simple and yet still easily identifiable, the pieces of this kit fit nicely in smaller hands while being stable enough to stand on their own. Putting them back together as a puzzle can be difficult, though, and some of them could only be assembled in a certain order. Since there is no picture to serve as a guide, this is frustrating for younger children. The sets also appear to be of varying difficulty, with the dinosaurs being the easiest (and most popular), and the rainforest being the hardest. This game comes with four bread-shaped gloves, which can stick to 14 colourful sandwich fixings with Velcro, as well as instructions on playing 10 simple games with variations to extend the fun. Children like the food theme, enjoy the games and often invent their own, too. This game enlists memory and balance skills, and it promotes gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination and matching skills. Smaller children can have difficulty with the strong Velcro but, overall, this toy is a fun and active family game. Woodys trusted horse Bullseye takes centre stage in this version of the classic game Buckaroo. Players must load the accessories onto Bullseye with the warning that he may buck at any second! This game is also a fun toy children incorporate Bullseye in their imaginative adventures, and they enjoy dressing him in clothes from other playsets. Pieces are easy for children to hold and manipulate, and the whole family enjoys seeing them fly off of Bullseye whenever he bucks. NOTE: No batteries are required.

The sweet-smelling doll can sit in the swivel chair while children brush her hair, add pretty extensions or crown her with beautiful gems. The green, purple and yellow playset is appealing, and the packaging features styling ideas. The set comes with one doll; kids would like more of Strawberrys friends included.

This attractive doll and pet set encourages imaginative play and was enjoyed by children who like dolls. Initially, children are drawn to the accessories, but they would like more clothing for the Blythe dolls as depicted on the packaging. Children often need adult assistance in putting on and removing the clothing due to the Blythe dolls large head. The doll head falls off easily, and children have trouble putting it back on. This set works best for childing who incorporate Blythe and her pet into existing Littlest Pet Shop playsets and have fun dreaming up adventures for them. This pirate outfit includes everything children need to transform into a pirate: a jacket and pants, hat, eye patch, and hook. The sword, belt, and sheath are sold separately. The realistic-looking jacket and hat are blue with gold brocade, and the jacket is made of a polyester-cotton blend that is machine washable. The costume is easy to put on, and the hat has elastic at the back of it to accommodate different head sizes. The quality of materials for the costume is poor, however, as noticeable fraying, peeling, and pilling occurred with normal, repetitive play, and the sword sheath ripped during normal use. With this conveyor belt and mini excavator play set, children can run their own construction site by clearing away boulders and rubble. This set includes a tipping cart that can be filled with debris and moved up or down the angled 55cm-long conveyor belt when children crank and turn a small wheel at the top. Complete with a mini excavator (vehicle), 16 boulders of various sizes, two construction workers and several typical tools and accessories for a construction site, this set includes everything necessary for imaginative play and realistic construction site simulation. NOTE: The string/rope that attaches to the conveyor belt may get caught, and the cart can fall off the conveyor belt. This all-vinyl doll is dressed as an equestrian rider complete with an equestrian tournament ribbon. Young girls who love horses or ride are attracted to this doll; however, without a horse included and only one outfit, the doll has limited appeal to those who are unfamiliar with equestrian sport or who do not have a suitable toy horse to add to play. Fun on their own or with other Playmobil sets, these toy scenarios offer nice, familiar themes for school-aged kids: walking to school being in the school band. The attractive, durable sets offer a variety of interesting pieces from a xylophone, drums and guitar to a yellow bicycle with rubber wheels that actually turn! Children like the theme and the engaging details of these toys.

Children can use their other toys (stuffed animals and dolls as well as puppets) to create characters and construct storylines. NOTE: Adult assembly required to set the stage up in a doorway; the adjustable curtain rod needs to be securely fastened to the door frame. The fire chief is on his way! This set, which includes a fire chief, car and accessories like a mega phone, laptop and first aid kit, lets children rush to the scene of an imaginary fire. The car is a big hit with children; durable, it moves very easily, and the roof even comes off to make placing the fire chief inside a snap! The accessories are realistic and fun, and the set can be played with on its own or used with other toys. Junior firefighters can rush to the scene of the fire with this fire engine and remote control unit! The durable truck is exceptionally realistic, with flashing lights and a variety of hoses, connectors, and reels. It can even be connected with other Playmobil Fire Rescue kits for more fun. When the remote control unit (sold separately) is added, however, children can drive the truck themselves, making it move forward, back, and even turn! The remote control has ample range although it lacks an auto shutoff. NOTE: Four AA and one 9-Volt batteries required. It's five alarm fun! With two firefighters, tools, a fireman's pole and lot of accessories, this kit gives children lots of opportunity for creative play. They can work around the station or combine it with other Playmobil sets to fight fires in different settings. The high-quality plastic pieces look very realistic, and the sheer number of accessories means that there plenty of inspiration for young imaginations. By filling the included reservoir with water and connecting it to the hoses, children can pump water on to the fire. With the pump, hoses, two firefighters and their gear, this set does exactly what is depicted on the packaging. It can be combined with other Playmobil sets, such as the fire engine. Children enjoy lots of imaginary play along with the water pumping.

While the toys can also be used for other things, such as dress-up play or carrying special objects, the case does not work well as a purse because of its transparent vinyl sides.

While the kit is attractive, the small accessories are difficult for children to manipulate, and they were easy to lose.

While Pollys head has a tendancy to pop off, and the fashion stage was not overly durable, the rock theme is fun.

This playset offers lots of different tropical vacation activities for children: they can race Polly and her monkey down a slide into the pool, dip her hair in the water to make it change colour or just let her relax in the hammock. Kids find the toy very attractive, and it is easily incorporated into play with other toys. Despite the large number of pieces that it contains, the playset is also easily assembled. It does not, however, always stay together, and the included dolphins (who are supposed to signal the winner of the slide race) don't always work as intended. Some of the pieces are too small to be easily used by little hands. Still, an engaging theme. This brave ranger explores both the deepest, darkest depths of the jungle and the wide, dusty expanse of desert with his trusty quad bike. He cuts a dashing figure with his trim beard and sword as he carries items behind him on his flatbed trailer. With a generous variety of detailed accessories, children have plenty of fodder to dream up imaginative adventures for this hero. Whether playing alone or with friends, the ranger is a hit with both boys and girls. Save the warthog from poachers with the heroic ranger in this safari-themed playset. The toy ranger figure coaxes the warthog into the humane trap using a head of lettuce. The trap comes with rope attached to the door, and it really works! Children have fun using the trap for many creative things even capturing the ranger in it. The colours and details are appealing and fit the safari theme nicely. This playset is fun on its own and as part of the larger safari set.

Each playset also includes a rhino and a park ranger. The jeep has changeable wheels and the ramp on the trailer can be opened to make loading the rhino easier. Great theme; this set encourages children to learn more about the African environment and its animals while using their imaginations.

Kids are initially eager to find hidden treasure with this metaldetecting toy security scanner. The scanner looks just like one of the wands used by airport security. It is light and easy-to-use for children, and the lights and sounds that indicate when metal is detected. It is also very strong and able to detect metal even through obstructions like a kitchen table or pocket. While this toys sparks a lot of interest at first, children may not play with it for lengthy periods. NOTE: 9-volt battery required. This 3-in-1 vehicle comes with a Spider-Man action figure and a web cannon blaster that shoots plastic web at bad guys. The coollooking battle truck is blue and red, has a glowing engine light, and includes vehicle sounds and phrases (no volume control). The fighter jet / boat sits in the truck bed, but can be brought into battle as soon as it is needed. The jet and boat are actually the same vehicle, but the position of its wings/windshield indicate which one is in play. Kids must turn the wings out to create the fighter jet and turn the wings in to create the windshield for the attack boat. Although the set is great for imaginative play, the vehicles accommodate a smaller action figure than is normally found on store shelves. NOTE: Three AAA batteries required. Stylin'! Children can mix-and-match any of the included clothing in the playset any way they like, and with different dresses, skirts, shirts, and more included, there are more than 40 different outfits possible for Strawberry Shortcake. Kids can even style her hair with the included accessories and let the doll examine the results in the included dressing table/wardrobe. The clothing is durable and able to withstand rigorous fashion shows, and children love both the strawberry scent and the variety of accessories. It is equipped with a sensor that recognizes obstacles; when the dog encounters one, it will roll backwards and go in another direction. With white, synthetic fur and dalmatian-like markings, the toy dog is very cute. The sensor works well, recognizing obstructions and causing the dog to move in a different direction. The noises that it makes are also very realistic. However, the toys did not always engage imaginative play, resulting in some children losing interest in the toy over time. NOTE: Two AA batteries required. This cat is just full of energy! Watch this toy cat as she scoots up the ramp, into the large wheel and just keep running, turning the wheel as she goes! Children can also release the wheel, letting the cat run around the room inside the wheel. The cat is cute, and the entire playground is bright and appealing, with six little accessories for the cat and decals that let children customize the toy. Like all of the Fur Real Furries, the cat makes little noises as she scurries about the room, and she also has a sensor in her nose that makes her back up and run in a different direction when she encounters an obstruction (but not when she is in the wheel). By pushing the handle at the end of the leash, children can direct the puppy to move forward, or turn to the left or right. The dog will respond to different triggers by wagging its tail, whimpering or barking realistically, and with soft white hair, it looks like an actual dog. Children enjoy walking the pup and, with practice, they are able to control the it easily. It can't reverse, however, which makes avoiding some obstacles difficult.
