M6 / M6 TTL Rangefinder

( BODY ONLY )
The LEICA M6 has a combined rangefinder and viewfinder with brightline frames. It has mechanically controlled shutter and selective through the lens exposure metering. Subject cropping is controlled through the view finder. Viewfinder magnification is the same for all lenses. The M6 has shutter speeds from 1 sec. to 1/1000 sec. and B, parallax compensation and delineates the subject area covered by the corresponding lens. The difference between fields covered by the viewfinder and by the respective lens is corrected automatically.

M Series Lenses

LEICA M lenses are hand-assembled with meticulous care and with their wide apertures, ambient light can be used to its best advantage. Excellent sharpness, extraordinarily high contrast performance and strictly neutral color rendition are their outstanding characteristics. In cramped quarters, five wide-angle lenses with focal lengths ranging from 21 to 35 mm provide an overview, space and dynamics. Four lenses with different maximum apertures are available with the standard focal length of 50mm, among them the light-giant NOCITLUX-M and the compact collapsible ELMAR-M. To compress the depth of space and to exclude distracting surroundings, four lenses with long focal length ranging from 75 to 135 mm define the upper range of LEICA M lenses

Briese HMI

Unlike an incandescent light source, where a resistive filament is used to create light, a daylight (HMI/MSR) lamp produces light from an arc (a continuous low voltage/high amperage spark). The light colour is controlled by gas mixture within the lamp, and in the instance of daylight simulation, a mixture of mercury vapour and metal halides render the light to a colour of 5500-6000 kelvin. HMI/MSR lamps offer extremely high luminous efficiency and are cooler running than their tungsten equivalent.
