With the iLO Power Management Pack, you can expect to realize the following management benefits: Enhanced infrastructure stability and reduced incidence of unplanned downtime Reduced time and cost associated with infrastructure roll-out, change, and update Optimized utilization of data center power and cooling facilities Efficient use of scare IT talent. Delivered on DVD media, the iLO Power Management Pack uses an integrated installer to deploy and configure HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM) and the HP Insight Power Manager software rapidly and consistently, reducing manual installation procedures and speeding time to production. The iLO Power Management Pack delivers core management functionality for ProLiant servers, including hardware health, comprehensive remote control, and power and thermal measurement, reporting, and regulation. When purchasing licenses for the iLO Power Management Pack, you will receive a license package for either one or a custom number of licenses (flex kit). You can also optionally order the Insight Control Management DVD to obtain a physical media kit with the iLO Power Management Pack software or download the DVD ISO image from the HP website. iLO Power Management Pack includes one year of 24 x 7 HP Software Technical Support and Update Service ensuring rapid access to HP support staff and proactive delivery of software updates. Single Media

Delivered on the Insight Control Management DVD for simplified installation and licensing. The iLO Power Management Pack and iLO Power Management Pack for BladeSystem contains HP SIM and Insight Power Manager software that provide total remote control, centralized system insight, and maximum energy efficiency from your investment in HP ProLiant servers.

Integrated Installer

The Insight Control Management integrated installer that is used to install the iLO Power Management Pack provides a streamlined, automated process to deploy and configure HP SIM and ProLiant Essentials software more consistently and rapidly, with less manual intervention. The integrated installer includes a wizard-based interface that presents a series of configuration questions. Once the configuration questions have been completed, the following components will be deployed as a single process. HP Systems Insight Manager HP Insight Power Manager NOTE: The iLO Select and Advanced Pack firmware is already resident on the Integrated Lights-Out 2 management processor and does not require any additional software installation.
Unified Infrastructure Management
The iLO Power Management Pack, based on HP Systems Insight Manager and ProLiant Essentials software, provides a unified, secure and extensible platform to centrally manage servers, storage and other infrastructure devices across multiple operating system environments. HP SIM provides core management services that include device discovery and identification, event views, health monitoring, inventory data collection, and software version control and reporting. HP SIM is built on industry standards and is extensible with value-added ProLiant Essentials, Integrity Essentials and Storage Essentials as well as custom application and scripts to meet individual management needs. Lights-Out Remote Management
The iLO Power Management Pack, through the iLO2, provides comprehensive Lights-Out remote management capabilities for ProLiant servers, including high performance virtual KVM for routine and emergency remote administration, remote access to server power control and event logs, virtual media for simple deployment and update of remote servers, and single server power measurement and regulation. Lights-Out remote management provides continuous access to ProLiant servers independent of OS state and prevents the need for most travel related to routine server maintenance. Precise Power and Thermal Measurement and Regulation
The Insight Power Manager function within the iLO Power Management Pack delivers precise power and thermal measurement and reporting as well as the ability to set power regulation policies - including limits on maximum power consumption - across groups of ProLiant servers. This ensures that data center facilities managers have the information and tools they need to optimize server density within existing power and cooling constraints and ensure efficient use of power resources. The Insight Power Manager (IPM) function is supported on a select group of ProLiant servers. This group contains a power meter and also ships with the iLO2 management processor. HP will replace defective delivery media replacement for a period of 90 days following the date of purchase.
HP offers a number of software support services, many of which are provided to customers at no additional charge. Software Technical Support and Update Service ProLiant Essentials Virtual Machine Management Pack includes one year of 24 x 7 HP Software Technical Support and Update Service. This service provides access to HP technical resources for assistance in resolving software implementation or operations problems. The service also provides access to software updates and reference manuals either in electronic form or on physical media as they are made available from HP. (Customers who purchase an electronic license to use are eligible for electronic updates only.) With this service, Insight Control and ProLiant Essentials customers will benefit from expedited problem resolution as well as proactive notification and delivery of software updates. If you received a license entitlement certificate, registration for this service will automatically take place upon redemption of the license certificate/key online and a service contract will be created for you. Integrated Installer

The Insight Control Management integrated installer that is used to install the iLO Power Management Pack provides a streamlined, automated process to deploy and configure HP SIM and ProLiant Essentials software more consistently and rapidly, with less manual intervention. The integrated installer includes a wizard-based interface that presents a series of configuration questions. Once the configuration questions have been completed, the following components will be deployed as a single process. HP Systems Insight Manager HP Insight Power Manager NOTE: The iLO Select and Advanced Pack firmware is already resident on the Integrated Lights-Out 2 management processor and does not require any additional software installation.
Unified Infrastructure Management
The iLO Power Management Pack, based on HP Systems Insight Manager and ProLiant Essentials software, provides a unified, secure and extensible platform to centrally manage servers, storage and other infrastructure devices across multiple operating system environments. HP SIM provides core management services that include device discovery and identification, event views, health monitoring, inventory data collection, and software version control and reporting. Lights-Out Remote Management
The iLO Power Management Pack, through the iLO2, provides comprehensive Lights-Out remote management capabilities for ProLiant servers, including high performance virtual KVM for routine and emergency remote administration, remote access to server power control and event logs, virtual media for simple deployment and update of remote servers, and single server power measurement and regulation. Lights-Out remote management provides continuous access to ProLiant servers independent of OS state and prevents the need for most travel related to routine server maintenance. Precise Power and The Insight Power Manager function within the iLO Power Management Pack delivers precise power Thermal Measurement and thermal measurement and reporting as well as the ability to set power regulation policies and Regulation including limits on maximum power consumption - across groups of ProLiant servers. This ensures that data center facilities managers have the information and tools they need to optimize server density within existing power and cooling constraints and ensure efficient use of power resources. The Insight Power Manager (IPM) function is supported on a select group of ProLiant servers. This group contains a power meter and also ships with the iLO2 management processor. HP will replace defective delivery media replacement for a period of 90 days following the date of purchase.

Starting in July 2007, iLO Power Management Pack will include one year of 24 x 7 HP Software Technical Support and Update Service. This service provides access to HP technical resources for help in resolving software implementation or operations problems. The service also provides access to software updates and reference manuals either in electronic form or on physical media as they are made available from HP. With this service, iLO Power Management Pack customers will benefit from expedited problem resolution and proactive notification and delivery of [product name] software updates. To activate your HP Software Technical Support and Update Service for iLO Power Management Pack, you must register your software purchase through the HP website at http://www.hp.com/go/ipmp.
