The DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive is the next generation of optical drive for HP ProLiant servers. It is offered with an industrystandard ATAPI interface. A Combo drive is designed to read and write to CD-ROM discs and read DVD-ROM discs. It has a maximum speed of 8X with DVD and 24X when used with CD-ROM. This drive supports major OSs for reading media. Software support is required for writing to media. For Microsoft operating systems, this is available by using the included Roxio Media Creator. For other operating systems, an operating system-specific software utility is required for writing to media.

The HP ProLiant DL380 G3 Packaged Cluster with MSA1000 is a member of the ProLiant Packaged Cluster Family and extends the current product lineup with the addition of the HP StorageWorks Modular Smart Array 1000 storage system (MSA1000). The MSA1000 is the premiere storage system in the HP StorageWorks Modular Smart Array family, delivering industry-leading technology to meet today's demanding and growing storage needs. These server and storage solutions offer the best price performance features for direct attach environments, small clusters, and entry-level and mid-range SAN environments. Each solution is designed to simplify and accelerate deployment as well as to maximize transfer rates, reduce management costs, while driving rapid return on investment. The DL380 Packaged Cluster with MSA1000 combines the power and reliability of the ProLiant DL380 G3 server with the high performance and scalability of the MSA1000 storage system. This powerful combination is uniquely joined the Package Cluster 8U fixture that is designed to simplify and accelerate system deployments for standard or clustered system configurations. In standard configurations, the DL380 G3 Packaged Cluster with MSA1000 offers the convenience of pre-installed storage and server components in a single package. The innovative shipping box for the G3 Packaged Cluster with MSA1000 simply opens and allows for quick setup while leaving the servers and storage readily accessible in the Packaged Cluster 8U fixture. Colorful configuration and setup guides quickly explain the process of connecting storage, networking and power cables. Once initial setup has been completed, the G3 Packaged Cluster with MSA1000 may be quickly re-packaged for deployment at another site or facility, or simplify removed from the 8U Packaged Cluster fixture and installed in an HP rack with the enclosed universal rail kits.
