The HP ProLiant DL785 G5 is the latest and most expandable addition to the top selling HP ProLiant Server line*. The DL785 G5 is an 8-socket x86 server, supporting up to 8 AMD Opteron quad-core processors, 256 GB of memory and 1 PCI-e I/O slots. 1 This highly scalable rack server is an ideal choice for growing enterprise-class database, consolidation, and virtualization environments seeking to improve server utilization and reduce server sprawlwhile continuing to leverage all the familiar and easy-to-use ProLiant management tools and options. With 64 dual in-line memory module (DIMM) sockets for a maximum of 256 GB of memory (with 4 GB DIMMs) and 1 PCI-e I/O slots, the DL785 G5 Server 1 has the memory and I/O expansion capabilities to support very large virtualization and consolidation environments. Up to 256 GB DDR2 at 533 MHz or 128 GB DDR2 at 667 MHz (with 4 GB DIMMs) and 1 I/O 1 expansion slots to support very large virtualization and consolidation environments. Supports VMWare and Xen virtualization software.
