Support Matrix

Overview
The HP ProLiant Essentials Server Migration Pack Physical to ProLiant Edition (SMP P2P) enables Physical to ProLiant (P2P) server migrations. P2P migrations involve migrating an operating system, applications, and data from one server to another, instead of manually redeploying these elements on a new server. The SMP P2P application supports migration of New Technology File System (NTFS) and File Allocation Table (FAT) partitions. The SMP P2P application also supports migration of RAW partitions in which no file systems exist. IMPORTANT: You must have administrator privileges to install the SMP P2P application and perform P2P migrations. NOTE: The SMP P2P application supports the migration of domain controllers, but does not support migration to storage area networks (SANs).
Application station requirements
The application station is the computer from which you set up and perform a P2P migration.
Operating system requirements
The SMP P2P application supports any application station with one of the following 32-bit operating systems:

Other requirements

The application station also requires that the following components be installed: Microsoft iSCSI Initiator 2.01, 2.02, 2.03, or 2.04, which you can download and install from http://www.microsoft.com Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or Mozilla Firefox 1.5 The SMP P2P application on an NTFS partition Available memory of at least 256 MB Available disk space of at least 150 MB IMPORTANT: HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM) cannot be installed on the application station. The application station cannot be managed by HP ProLiant Essentials Virtualization Management Software.

Migration configuration exceptions

Destination server hardware requirements
The destination server is the server to which the source server is migrated.

HP ProLiant servers

IMPORTANT: Supported destination servers with unsupported embedded controllers are not supported for migration. Verify that the embedded storage controller is listed in the Storage controllers section of this support matrix. NOTE: The Windows SBS 2000 operating system only supports the HP ProLiant ML370 G4 and ProLiant ML370 G5 servers. The Windows SBS 2003 operating system only supports the HP ProLiant ML310 G4, ML350 G5, ML370 G4, and ML370 G5 servers.
