Instructions for Tuning your receiver to the Optus D2 Satellite

Before you begin, identify the following buttons on the remote control for the satellite receiver: Menu, exit, back, OK, the up-down and left-right buttons; Switch on the satellite receiver and TV as you normally would to watch one of the channels: Notes When you select an item on the on main-menu it will be offset to the right of the other items When you select an item on other menus it will be highlighted with a yellow border.
To delete all existing channels:1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Press the menu button. Use the up or down buttons to select Edit_Channels and press OK. Select Edit_Channel_Lists and press OK The receiver will request a password. Enter 0000. Select Group and press OK. Select Optus_B3 and press OK. Select Select_All and press OK. All channels will be highlighted. Select Delete and press OK. Press back to exit this menu and the receiver will display a pop-up message, Do you want to save all the changes? Select Yes and press OK. 9. Press back repeatedly to exit all menus.
To scan in the channels:1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. 16. 17. 18. 19. Press the menu button. Use the up or down buttons to select Installation and press OK. The receiver will request a password. Enter 0000. Select Manual_Search and press OK. Select Satellite and press OK. Select Optus_B3 and press OK. Select Transponder and press OK. Scroll down to the bottom and select User_Define. Select Frequency and press OK. Enter 12706 and press OK. Select Polarity and press OK. Select Auto and press OK. Select Symbol Rate and press OK. Scroll down to User_Define and press OK. Enter 22500 and press OK. Select FEC and press OK. Select Auto and press OK. Select DONE and press OK. Select Network_Search and press OK to choose Enable. Select Search_Type and press OK. Select FTA and press OK. Select Channel_Type and press OK. Select All and press OK. Select SEARCH and press OK. The receiver will take some time to search through all the available channels, which will be progressively displayed as they are found. On the right hand bottom corner, select SAVE and press OK. Press back repeatedly to exit all menus.

To re-organize the channels:1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. Press the menu button. Use the up or down buttons to select Edit_Channels and press OK. The receiver will request a password. Enter 0000. Select Edit_Channel_Lists and press OK Select Groups and press OK. Select TV and press OK. On the left hand side, highlight one or many channels by pressing the OK button. On the right hand side, select MOVE and press OK. Press the up and down buttons to move the selected channels to the correct position. Press OK to place channels. Repeat steps 7 and 8 until all channels are in order. Press back to exit this menu and the receiver will display a pop-up message, Do you want to save all the changes? Select Yes and press OK. If you use radio channels, repeat steps 5 to 9, choosing Radio instead of TV in step 5. Press back repeatedly to exit all menus.
If you have another brand of satellite receiver, these are the new parameters for Optus D2 that will need to be entered in to your satellite receiver. Freq: 12,706 GHz Symbol rate: 22,500 Pol: Vertical FEC: 3/4 Network Search: Enable.
