Husaberg FS 650 (2004) Racing Exhaust System
Akrapovic Racing Exhaust System
for the Husaberg FS 650 (2004)
Swedish off-road performance on two wheels. The slightly exotic Swedish brand Husaberg is gaining ground on the competition year after year, and the companys orientation is starting to show results. The FS model is equipped to compete in Supermoto racing. The Husaberg engine is one of the strongest power plants around, and together with excellent handling offers dynamic riding and presents an exceptional challenge to the more popular brands. GOAL Supermoto motorcycles need light weight, lots of power and good brakes. The Akrapovic R&D department has developed a complete Akrapovic RACING exhaust system which will unquestionably contribute to the performance of the Husaberg with respect to all of the above mentioned factors. ABOUT AKRAPOVIC RACING SYSTEMS Exhaust system tuning is a popular modification, since it does not require any modification of the engine itself. With our complete exhaust systems we try to obtain even more power and torque out of the engine. This is confirmed by our Akrapovic RACING exhaust systems, which together with our EVOLUTION systems represent our top-of-the-line products. The header tubes are made out of stainless steel, while the collector and link pipe are made of titanium. For the Husaberg all of the tubes are conical section, which in this case ensures the optimal flow of exhaust gases. The components two header tubes, collector, link pipe and muffler are connected with freefloating joints held together with high-quality silicon-shielded Akrapovic tensioning springs. The muffler is the Akrapovic Supermoto shape, with a rounded outlet cap. The outer sleeve of the muffler is titanium, which blends beautifully into the lively Scandinavian color combination of the Husaberg. The interior of the muffler is also made entirely of titanium. The use of

high-quality materials such as titanium enables the production of exhaust systems at minimum weight while retaining their durability. Supermoto motorcycles are intended for dynamic riding and are designed to endure radical braking and acceleration. The Akrapovic dual carbon-fiber clamp ensures minimal vibration of the muffler during the sliding turns of Supermoto competition. Measurements of the Akrapovic RACING system on the Husaberg FS 650: power the design of the Akrapovic RACING system complements the Husaberg engine extremely well. This can be seen from both the power curve and the torque curve. The power curve shows a nice increase over the stock curve from 3500 rpm to around 5000 rpm, from where it runs essentially linearly. But the real difference can be seen starting at 7400 rpm, where the stock curve peaks. By installing an Akrapovic RACING system the max. horsepower jumps up to 62.1 HP at 7700 rpm. The max. increased power of 5 HP shows up in the overrev range at 8500 rpm. torque an even better result and the real advantage of our exhaust system is shown in the torque curve. A completely linear increase in the range from 3500 to 5500 rpm means huge reserves of torque when accelerating from low revs, and less work for the rider. The graph also shows the overall widening of the torque curve, which in combination with the increased power offers an extremely dynamic package such as is necessary for spirited Supermoto riding. In addition to the major performance increase, the Akrapovic RACING exhaust system for the HUSABERG FS 650 also offers an aesthetic refinement which is never out of place on any motorcycle. The satin sheen of the titanium muffler looks great on the Swedish Supermoto rocket. And since every gram counts in SM, with our system you will save a further 1.38 kg on the overall weight of the bike. And we shouldnt forget to mention the sound. The Akrapovic RACING system joyfully proclaims the new-found freedom of the single-cylinder engine.
