INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING THE SH-216 MEDIATION EQUIPMENT
1. If the projector is not already on, turn it on by holding down the ON button on the NEC projector remote control for 5 seconds. 2. Using either the VIDEO or RGB buttons on the projectors remote control, select the projector video source you would like to use. You have two choices: 1) the VCR, 2) the built-in PC or a laptop. The built-in PC and the laptop connections are a shared projector input. To select to use the VCR as a video source on the projector, press the VIDEO button on the projectors remote control until the screen reads Video in the upper right-hand corner. To select to use the built-in PC or laptop as the video source on the projector, press the RGB button on the projectors remote control until the screen reads RGB1 in the upper right-hand corner.
3. To play a video tape, use the projectors remote control to select Video as the input type, as described in Step 2. Power on the VCR. If youve properly selected Video as the projector input type from the projectors remote control, the projector screen will turn blue, indicating the VCRs signal is being detected. Insert a tape and press play.
4. To use the built-in PC or a laptop, the first step is to select RGB1 from the projectors remote control as described in Step 2. Now power on the device you would like to use. If you are using a laptop, connect it to the supplied video cable located on the surface of the media table. 5. The second step to using the built-in PC or a laptop is to choose one of the devices using the Ocean Matrix brand VGA switch box, which is located inside the media cabinet. This Ocean Matrix switch box is easy to identify; it has a green power button, and three buttons on the front of its face, with the selected one always illuminated in red. To use the built-in PC, press button number one on the Ocean Matrix brand switch box and turn on the computer inside the media cabinet. To use a laptop, press button number two on the Ocean Matrix brand switch box and turn on the laptop. If you have not done so already, connect the laptops external video port to the supplied VGA cable located on the surface of the podium. Note: Make sure you configure your laptop to send its video signal to its external video port. For Dell PCs sending the signal to the external video port is usually done by pressing the FN-F8 key combination. For IBM laptops the key combination is typically FN-F7. For Macs, this is usually done through the Display control panels Find Displays button.
6. To play a DVD, insert the DVD in the built-in computers DVD drive. The DVD software on the computer is configured to automatically launch the DVD title and display the main menu of the movie. If the DVD does not begin playing automatically click Start > Programs > Utilities > Intervideo WinDVD and run the Intervideo WinDVD program. DVD volume can be controlled using either the volume buttons on podiums control panel or from within the WinDVD program. To make the DVD full screen, double click the mouse pointer in the window where the DVD is playing. You can display the DVD in a window again by double clicking the movie again. A full array of DVD controls can be accessed by right clicking the mouse on the video while its playing.
NOTES: Its critical that the Ocean Matrix brand switch box and any other sound or master control units located inside the mediation cabinet are powered on. Please check the power status of each device before attempting to use the equipment.
When you are finished using the equipment, please power it off. This includes the VCR, PC, and the projector, especially. IMPORTANT: To power off the projector, press and hold the OFF button on the projectors remote control for 5 seconds.
