i purchased a bt500v in october 2007 it worked ok for about a year then the ear piece fell apart. I do not like or recommend the Jabra bt500v as it was difficult to set up and had VERY POOR reception.

Received my brand new Jabra BT500 in the mail today (Friday). It will not charge. It has been on the charger with the red light on for 6 hours. Volume is simply too low. I use in the cart and is impossible too hear. The earpiece fits nicely around the ear.
Tulkas 4:14pm on Tuesday, August 17th, 2010
It fits good and sounds good when it is with in 3 feet of the phone. After that static over takes you and drops the connection. Overall.

Works well and fits well. The buttins are well placed and work well. The fit and clarity are also good. Instructions not complete on pairing, you have to press and hold the VOLUME UP & the power button to get a proper pairing. Watch out for a/c adapter,...

Glossary

1Bluetooth is a radio technology that connects devices, such as mobile phones and headsets, without wires or cords over a short distance (approx. 33 feet). Get more information at www. bluetooth.com. 2Bluetooth profiles are the different ways that Bluetooth devices communicate with other devices. Bluetooth phones support either the headset profile, the hands-free profile or both. In order to support a certain profile, a phone manufacturer must implement certain mandatory features within the phones software. 3Pairing creates a unique and encrypted link between two Bluetooth devices and lets them communicate with each other. Bluetooth devices will not work if the devices have not been paired. 4Passkey or PIN is a code that you enter on your mobile phone to pair it with your Jabra BT500v. This makes your phone and the Jabra BT500v recognize each other and automatically work together. 5Standby mode is when the Jabra BT500v is passively waiting for a call. When you end a call on your mobile phone, the headset goes into standby mode.
Dispose of the product according to local standards and regulations. www.jabra.com/weee
