Daniel Ashcraft

Project Everest DD66000 is the latest achievement in the highly productive 20-year collaboration of Greg Timbers, JBLs chief engineer, and Daniel Ashcraft, chief creative officer of Ashcraft Design. Timbers, who had been tinkering with homemade loudspeaker designs since the age of 13, joined JBL in 1972 with a masters degree in acoustics from UCLA. Ashcraft, a graduate of the Art Center College of Design, founded his own product and interior design firm in 1985. The two first joined forces to produce the JBL Project Everest DD55000 system of 1985. A hallmark in design, engineering and performance, the DD55000 set the stage for the teams Project K2 S9500 in 1990 and its successor, the K2 S9800, in 2001. With Project Everest DD66000, we were seeking the perfect balance between the enclosure design and the acoustical vision. Daniel Ashcraft
