Tools and Supplies

The following tools and supplies are needed to install the radio. Torx type, Flat and Phillips screwdrivers Wire cutters and strippers Tools to remove existing radio (screwdriver, socket wrench set or other tools) Electrical tape Crimping tool Volt meter/test light Crimp connections 18 gauge wire for power connections 16-18 gauge speaker wire
Speaker Requirements: Only connect speakers rated in the load impedance of 4 ohms. Speakers with a load impedance less than 4 ohms could damage the unit.

Disconnect Battery

Mise en marche

2. Red Wire

Connect the red wire to the radio fuse +12V accessory in the fuse block.

3. Black Wire

Connect to a metal part of the dash, drilling a hole if necessary.

4. Yellow Wire

Connect to the positive 12V battery terminal. The yellow wire must be connected as shown, or the radio will not operate properly.

5. Antenna Connector

Connect the antenna plug from the existing antenna cable (some vehicles require an adaptor).

6. CD Changer Connector

This 8-pin DIN socket provides the connection to the optional CD Changer.

7. Yellow RCA Cables

RCA line in jacks for use with auxiliary input devices (CD player, etc.)

8. Grey RCA Cables

RCA line out jacks for use with optional external amplifiers. The red connector is for the right and the white connector is for the left.

Note: The amplifiers in this radio are only designed for use with four speakers. Never combine (bridge) outputs for use with two speakers. Never ground negative speaker leads to chassis ground. Failure to wire exactly as shown may cause electrical damage to the radio.

CD2620 / CD2620SE Installation
This unit is designed for installation in cars, trucks and vans with an existing radio opening. In many cases, a special installation kit will be required to mount the radio to the dashboard. These kits are available at electronics supply stores and car stereo specialist shops. Always check the kit application before purchasing to make sure the kit works with your vehicle. If you have trouble locating a kit or need installation assistance, contact Technical Support at 1-800323-4815 from 8:30am to 7:00pm EST Monday through Friday and from 9:00am to 5:00pm EST on Saturday. Universal Installation Using Mounting Sleeve
1. 2. 3. Remove the detachable front panel if it is attached to the chassis by pushing the Release button. Slide the mounting sleeve off of the chassis if it has not already been removed. If it is locked into position, use the removal tools (supplied) to disengage it. Check the dashboard opening size by sliding the mounting sleeve into it. If the opening is not large enough, carefully cut or file as necessary until the sleeve easily slides into the opening. Do not force the sleeve into the opening or cause it to bend or bow. Check that there will be sufficient space behind the dashboard for the radio chassis. Locate the series of bend tabs along the top, bottom and sides of the mounting sleeve. With the sleeve fully inserted into the dashboard opening, bend as many of the tabs outward as necessary so that the sleeve is firmly secured to the dashboard. Place the radio in front of the dashboard opening so that the wiring can be brought through the mounting sleeve. Follow the wiring diagram carefully and make certain all connections of the wiring harness are secure and insulated with crimp connectors or electrical tape to ensure proper operation of the unit. After completing the wiring connections, attach the front panel and turn the unit on to confirm operation (ignition switch must be on). If unit does not operate, recheck all wiring until problem is corrected. Once proper operation is achieved, turn off the ignition switch and proceed with final mounting of the chassis. Carefully slide the radio into the mounting sleeve making sure it is right-side-up until it is fully seated and the spring clips lock it into place. Attach one end of the perforated support strap (supplied) to the screw stud on the rear of the chassis using the hex nut provided. Fasten the other end of the perforated strap to a secure part of the dashboard either above or below the radio using the screw and hex nut provided. Bend the strap to position it as necessary. CAUTION: The rear of the radio must be supported with the strap to prevent damage to the dashboard from the weight of the radio or improper operation due to vibration.

AUDIOVOX RAISES THE CURTAIN ON THE 2004 JENSEN MOBILE PRODUCT LINE Company Says Commitment Will Be The Driving Force Behind The Products Louisville KY March 2004 The new Jensen products for 2004 will reflect the commitment that Audiovox has made to its retailers and their customers. That commitment is to place Jensen on the shelves with products that are true to the brands history of quality, feature-rich, cosmetically appealing, user-friendly and most important a sales and profit magnet for the dealer, said Tom Malone, Senior VP, Sales, for Audiovox Electronics Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Audiovox Corporation (NASDAQ: VOXX). The new line of Jensen head units will consist of three categories, offering lines-within-a-line. Each line will have its own family look, its own set of features and its own price points, which will appeal to the retailers, be more effective with channel distribution and help assure the profit potential for Audiovoxs customers. The company plans to use the Rampage product line as a promotional line to compliment the Jensen category, giving the retailer one source for both ends of their Autosound product inventory. The Jensen amplifier line, will consist of the Profusion Series, six models considered the top of the line, the AXP Series, and the XA-2 Series (anticipated spring 2004). The Profusion Series offers stateof-the-art cosmetics as well as performance and reliability at their price points. They are simply the best amps Jensen has ever offered, with the lowest THD in harmonic distortion and the highest signal-to-noise ratio. The XA-2 Series, with their high-quality looks and performance, at a slightly lower price point, go to different channels of distribution to assure the profitability of both amplifier lines. Said Malone, These amplifiers are designed to be consumer friendly. They have built-in protection circuitry against overloads. They are stable at 2 ohms. And our packaging is designed with helpful consumer tips for installation and maintenance right on the box. (A good example is a major retailer noted for stringent requirements for packaging from the manufacturers took one look at the Jensen packages they carry and said, in essence, thats it, no changes-its perfect.) There will be two new lines of Jensen speakers: The XS Series of dual cone, two, and three-way speakers and subwoofers, and the JX series which offers comparable performance with its own unique cosmetic. The XS series features the Jensen look of a blue-chrome cone and specifications that are designed to satisfy the most critical listener. They also feature open-air wire mesh grilles that cover only part of the cone. The JX Series delivers similar power handling capabilities and eye-catching cosmetics, featuring titanium gray cones with graphic grille work. The JX line, says Malone, is designed to complement the look of the Jensen S Series of radios that have a triangular front panel, which we duplicated in the JX series.
