EISA Victor Company of Japan, Ltd. (JVC) received top honors in three divisions in the 2006-2007 European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) awards. EISA presents one of the most prestigious product awards in the electronics industry. The projection TV, compact Video / K2 Audio system, and mobile A/V head unit were named best of the year in their categories. EISA is an organization for editors of leading European video, audio, photo, home theater, and mobile electronics magazines. It was formed in 1982 and currently has a membership of 52 magazines in 19 European countries. Each year it selects the best video, audio, photo, home theater, and mobile products for recognition. Its European Awards are both prestigious and authoritative, a mark of excellence for consumers and industry people in Europe and the world at large. JVC has been honored by EISA for eleven consecutive years.

EUROPEAN PROJECTION TV 2006-2007 JVC HD-70ZR7U With the HD-70ZR7U the engineers of JVC have created a huge but slim 70 diagonal HD-Ready projection TV with high contrast ratio, wide viewing angle and uniform brightness over the whole picture area, a combination of features not seen before in this product category. JVCs unique HD-ILA technology incorporates three 1.4 megapixel reflection chips with an impressive switching time of just 2.5 milliseconds. Advanced technologies like Motion Adaptive Dynamic Picture Management for fine reproduction of dark colours is combined with Smart Picture for the dynamic adjustment of brightness, contrast and sharpness. When added to Digital Image Scaling Technology for the smooth upscaling of conventional video signals, the result is an outstanding viewing experience and the perfect stage for exciting TV events and movies. EUROPEAN Compact System 2006-2007 JVC EX-A10E The design of this micro system not only attracts the eye with its aesthetics but also the ear with its impressive audio performance. The brushed aluminum finish of the main unit is matched to bi-amplified wood-cone speakers, optimised by having separately-powered tweeters and mid/bass drivers. Capable of filling a small room with sound, this system includes many modern functions, not only playing CD and DVD discs, but its also able to read MP3, JPEG and WMA files. To enhance sound quality further, the system uses JVCs K2 technology for both uncompressed and compressed sources, giving a flavour of high-resolution sound. This JVC micro system has the best acoustic performance that you can find in its price category. European Mobile A/V Head Unit 2006-2007 JVC KW-AVX700/706 JVCs KW-AVX700/706 in silver or black finish is a 2-DIN size audio/video head unit with a 6.5-inch display. It will play CD, MP3 and WMA files and additionally makes the most of the DVD format. Supporting DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, DivX, and with a proprietary GIGA MP3 MULTI feature, the unit will also play music files recorded on DVD-R, benefitting from the formats large storage capacity. Data flexibility is further enhanced by a slot for an SD memory card behind a motorized front panel. The display even works as a rear view monitor if needed. A built-in multichannel decoder supports DTS and Dolby Digital, and Dolby Pro Logic II decoding brings surround sound to normal stereo music. The KW-AVX700/706s DSP features an equaliser, subwoofer crossover and adjustable time delays. With all these features available at a reasonable price, this unit is a real bargain.

Every year, TIPA editors vote for the best photo & imaging products introduced in Europe during the previous 12 months. TIPA editors take into account innovation, the use of leading-edge technology, design and ergonomics of the products and, naturally, their ease of use and price/performance ratio. TIPA was born in 1991 when founder magazines decided they wanted to start a large non profit association. Now TIPA is 31 magazines strong and represents a readership of approximately 8 million amateurs, professionals and people in the trade spread throughout 12 European countries.
