w Intended use
This ultrasound telemeter is intended for use in the projection of a laser spot as well as for measuring distances. The appliance is intended for domestic use only. Do not use it for commercial purposes.
Regularly check the condition of the batteries. Leaking batteries can cause damage to the appliance. If you do not intend to use the appliance for an extended period, remove the batteries. Always replace all batteries at the same time and with the same type. In the event of the batteries leaking acids, wear protective gloves. Clean the battery compartment and the battery contacts with a dry cloth.

Press and hold down the measuring button w. A laser spot is projected. The measured value can be read off in the display. Add 5 cm to the measured value to take into account the length of the housing. To retain the measured value, release the measuring button w. The laser beam extinguishes and the value continues to be shown in the display q until either the appliance switches itself off automatically, after 30 seconds, or you take another measurement.
Causes of error
The following errors are indicated in the display q with ERR: - Batteries too weak - Target being measured is outside the measurement range - A further ultrasound source is in the vicinity - The ultrasound signal being reflected from the target surface is too weak
Inserting batteries
Open the battery compartment t at the rear side. Insert 4 x 1,5 V batteries, size LR44/303 (button cell), paying heed to the polarity markings shown in the battery compartment t. Additionally, ensure that the button cells are always inserted with the minus pole (-) lying against the plus pole (+) of the neighbouring button cell. Close the battery compartment lid and check that it is firmly seated.

Distances to large and level surfaces, such as walls, are easier to measure. Should you have difficulty taking measurements to objects with small surface areas, irregular shapes or they are made of absorbent materials, place a piece of cardboard on the target surface. Ultrasound measurements cannot be made through glass.
