Great Picture When it Works! This lense would be great if it would only stop breaking. I have had the lense for almost a year and a half. Works well for the money. I think the lens is good for the money. I have had to adjust my autofocus by a few + numbers on my Pentax K-7. WYSIWYP - What You See Is What You Paid In past time, I owned a Canon USM Telephoto lens, but I lost it. So I had to look for a Replacement lens. Worked for 10 minutes, then AF died This item arrived with the lens cap not properly attached. Was on crooked. That was the first concern I had.

One a superb lens! Not to noisy and very quick at focusing even at 300mm. It is possible to take photos at 300mm hand held.

I bought this lens for a family member who has just upgraded to a digital SLR on the strength of my 8 years experience with an earlier version of this... best buy you can get and its really good to learn from. I purchased this lens for use on my 5D MK11 and my 7D. Sharpness at the short end is good but above 200mm it is poor on both my camera bodies.

Good len with this price. especially when you take a pic within 70-200 and the quality is almost the same constant focus. The speed of focus is slow. by far the best telephoto lens for my sony dslr. Sharp pictures however low lighting is problematic. otherwise, this lens cant be beat for the price.

This Sigma lens is a good entry level telezoom lens. The macro function make a big plus to this product. The picture is sharp. Aperture is acceptable. Good len with this price. especially when you take a pic within 70-200 and the quality is almost the same constant focus. The speed of focus is slow.

Click on the Profile link in the upper right of any page to edit the system administrator's password. Click on the Profile link to get the Edit Profile window.
To change the password, enter a new password and then enter the password again in the confirmation field. Click Submit. The new password will be required the next time you login.
Printgroove ::Admin 3.0 Admin Home Page Menus
The Printgroove Administrator can set up or modify the system from their Home page. The menus (highlighted in the above figure) are listed below. Home Control Licensing Logs Settings Backup Restore Legal The Works with display bar above each page shows which of the installed Printgroove modules; Serve, Guide, or Queue, will be affected by changes made on the current page.

3.1 3.2

Clicking the Home menu option returns you to the Home page.
The Legal link at the bottom the menu displays a list of all third-party licenses used by Printgroove. The list can also be viewed in the Appendix section of this document.

3.3 Control

Using the Control Menu, the Administrator can view the system user login and control settings for the installed Printgroove modules by selecting one of the Control sub-menu items on the left.
3.3.1 Control > Serve Public Login
Click on Serve Public Login in the modules list to view or change the ability of external users to login to Serve. The right-hand panel will display the current status as Enabled or Disabled.
Click on Disable to prevent users from logging into the Serve application. This is useful for troubleshooting an issue without affecting any system users. Users that are already logged in will be forcibly logged out. The Edit button allows you to enter notes which will display on the Control module screen. Click Edit to open the Notes window and type in the information you want to display for this module.
Click Save to keep the notes as they have been entered. Click Cancel to change them. The module screen will be updated with the note. Please Note that the internal users login to the Guide interface with a web address similar to https://[IP Address or hostname]/sgwhich differs slightly from that of Serve. This document may, at times, refer to Guide as SG.
3.3.2 Control > SG Internal Login
Click on SG Internal Login in the modules list to view or change the ability of internal printshop users to login to SG (Guide). The panel displays current status as Enabled or Disabled. Clicking on the Disable button will prevent printshop users from logging into the Guide application. Edit enables the administrator to add notes to the screen as shown for Serve Public Login.

3.3.3.1.2 Queue Users Synchronized with SG Users When Queue is initiated as a Printgroove module, the users and passwords in Queue will populate the user table for Serve and Guide. The users will be inactive and will have no
permissions or Roles set, but the S/G Application Administrator can define the appropriate permissions and activate the necessary users. As mentioned earlier, this synchronization should occur at startup. If the Queue password changes or new users have been added, click on the Account Synchronization button to re-synchronize the Printgroove modules. If successful, the message shown in the green bar below will display.
Please note that if a user in Queue has the same name and password as a user in SG, the Queue username and password will overwrite the SG username and password during synchronization!
3.3.4 Control > System
To view or change the status of the system and its services, from the Control menu, click on System in the modules list. The right-hand panel will display the current status of the server and each of its services related to Printgroove. The buttons at the top right allow the server hardware to be shutdown or rebooted.
Most of the individual services allow the Administrator to start, stop or restart each one separately. Exceptions exist that limit the number of options available (namely in services like the Apache web server), since stopping such services would make the system uncontrollable via the web or network. The services accessed through System Control include: Apache2 - Web server used to manage incoming web requests. Restarting Apache2 will halt all requests to Serve/Guide, meaning that communications will temporarily stop between the SG modules. http://httpd.apache.org/About_Apache.html Tomcat - Java web server used to host Queue. Restarting will temporarily halt all requests to Queue, meaning that jobs going to or returning from Queue will stop processing until the server is finished restarting and is back up. http://tomcat.apache.org/ PdfServer - Used by Queue to inspect PDF files. Queue needs the PDF format for some of its print jobs, so restarting this server will temporarily disable Queue from processing jobs. Postgresql - Used to store data for Admin/Serve/SG/Queue. Restarting this server will temporarily disable all modules, rendering the Printgroove system unusable. http://www.postgresql.org/about/ OpenSSH - Used to remotely login to the Printgroove Server. When this is enabled, users with correct authentication data will have remote secure shell access to the box. This is useful for remote troubleshooting, but as a possible security risk, it is recommended that this be kept disabled when unneeded. License Server - Used to ensure that license restrictions for the server are valid. Restarting will temporarily disable Serve/Guide/Queue modules.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Stopping any of the above-mentioned servers will stop communications between the modules and Printgroove will not function properly until all servers are back online.

3.4 Licensing

Printgroove ::Admin allows you to view and modify the licensing information on the system.
This may range from transferring ownership of the system to adding modules. A dongle, or security key, is used to authenticate each of the software licenses. For Printgroove modules to operate properly, the key must be plugged into an appropriate USB port on the server at all times.
3.4.1 Licensing: Information
Using the Licensing > Information menu option, the Administrator can view Information relating to the licensed capabilities of each module in the Printgroove system. The data provided is for informational purposes only and cannot be modified. It includes data such as number of active users licensed, expiration date, licensed version, and whether or not maintenance is included.
Each modules Licensing: Information screen identifies these values: o Expiration Date when the license expires o Users the number of users currently licensed o Maintenance whether or not the customer has a maintenance agreement o Maintenance Expiration if Maintenance = Yes, the expiration date of the agreement o Licensed for Version the version number of the license

Serve License screen:

Guide License screen: o Create Workflows identifies if this version of Guide has Workflows enabled o Workflows If Create Workflows = Yes, this is the number of active workflows allowed o Job Limit the number of active jobs allowed (If the value is anything other than the infinity sign, it means that Guide is limited to that number of active jobs. This is primarily for NFR systems.)
Queue License screen: o Clustering identifies whether or not license allows clustering o MFPs the number of MFPs that may be used o Maximum Job Tickets the maximum number of active job tickets allowed
Each Printgroove module (Serve, Guide, Queue) comes with a set of counters which enable/disable certain features of the application. If a user has not purchased Serve for example, the licensing information screen will display Not licensed for this module.

3.4.2 Licensing: Owner

Using the Licensing > Owner menu option, the Administrator has access to the Owner information for the Printgroove system. The Owner is the individual or company that holds the license for the Printgroove server. This information is setup at the time of installation, but can be modified in the event of the license being transferred to another Owner.

3.4.3.2 Licensing: Manual Update
Upon receiving the key file update from Konica Minolta, make sure all users are logged off the system, login as sysadmin and go to the Licensing > Manage > Manual Update menu.
Click Browse and then Open to upload the key file from your desktop (file extension.rtu).
Click Update to install the new key information, after which the Printgroove server will need to restart. IMPORTANT NOTE: Only use the update file received from your authorized Konica Minolta sales channel and ensure that all other users are logged off from the Printgroove system before beginning the update process. In the event that users remain logged in, they will be invalidated and forcibly logged out within ~40 seconds.
3.4.3.3 Licensing: Automatic Update
Upon receiving the key file update from Konica Minolta, make sure all users are logged off the system, login as sysadmin and go to the Licensing > Manage > Auto Update menu. Enter the URL received from your Konica Minolta sales channel. Enter your proxy serve information, if necessary. Click Update to finish or Cancel to revert to the last saved settings.
3.4.3.3.1 Licensing Requirements The Printgroove license requirements for updating the context files can prevent use of the system
if not followed correctly. Please remember these important items prior to changing any of your licensing information.
The update files are serial number sensitive, so they will only work with the specific security key for which they are written. An update file can only be used once. Re-applying the same update file will show an error message that the update failed. A damaged security key can be replaced through your Konica Minolta sales channel. Use a KM RMA form and ship the broken/damaged dongle to Konica Minolta. Your security key will be replaced and you will follow the steps in the previous section to perform a manual update using Licensing > Manual Update. (Please note that if replacing a damaged key, you may also have to go to the Licensing > Owner screen and enter the Serial Number of the replacement key.
3.5 Logs (Server Activity Files)
Printgroove keeps track of all system activity internally. This activity is stored on the server as log files. Occasionally, it may be necessary to access this information for security or troubleshooting purposes. The Logs menus allow the Administrator to view and configure how those log files are stored.

3.5.1 Logs: Files

To view the log files of a module or service, click Logs > Files and then on the module name in the left column for which you want to review log files. Click on the log file name and the panel on the right will display any logs for that module. The log file can then be downloaded to your computer for viewing.

3.5.2 Logs: Viewer

To view the contents of the current log files of a module or service without downloading it to your computer, click Logs > Viewer. The right panel will display the log for the selected module.

3.5.3 Logs: Options

The Logs > Options menu will configure the way Printgroove writes and stores log files. Using the form displayed below, you can tell the system when to create new log files, what size they should be, and how many to keep for historical purposes.
Roll Logs Every: Choices are day or week. Rolling the logs puts the latest log file into the database to be used as the latest backup. Only roll if the log is larger than: The default size of a log is set at 1MiB. You can set them larger if desired. Compress old log files using: This can be set for No Compression or Compress as.gz, creating a gzip file. Number of old log files to retain: You can set the number of log files to store. When the number is exceeded, the oldest file is deleted. Logging Level: The system can record log information at two levels: Standard (minimal information recorded) and Verbose (very detailed information recorded). You should only use Verbose when troubleshooting an issue, since it records much more data which can impact system performance. Reset: The Reset button will reset the field information and settings to the last saved settings. Save: Saves any changes you make to the logging settings.

Settings

The Settings menus allow the Administrator to configure basic system defaults for the Printgroove server, including e-mail, language, LDAP, session timeout, and SSL certification.

3.6.1 Settings: E-mail

Use the Settings > E-mail menu to configure the SMTP e-mail server that Printgroove will use to send system-related e-mails. The system sends out a variety of e-mail during the course of daily operation. Use the first field on this page to set a From address to be used on all system e-mails. Enter the SMTP server address and port number of the e-mail server. Enter the Signature you want sent with each e-mail.
Some companies use another e-mail software. If authentication is required to access your e-mail account, select Required from the pull-down Authentication menu. Enter the E-mail address, SMTP server address, Username and Password used by your e-mail host.
Click Test to verify your settings. A pop-up window will display for entering a To and From e-mail address.
Click Submit and you should receive a message asking you to check for receipt of the test message, at the From or To address entered. This will confirm that the settings are valid.

3.6.2 Settings: Language

Printgroove can be configured to display the application in any language that is enabled. Part of its flexibility is that you can "teach" Printgroove new languages. The System Administrator can create any language, based on an existing reference language, and make it available to all users of the system.

Then click the Activate icon (
) to make this language available to all Printgroove users.
Now the Serve and Guide User Profiles may be set to any of the languages you have activated.

3.6.3 Settings: LDAP

In computer networking, the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol, or LDAP, is a networking protocol for querying and modifying directory services running over TCP/IP. A directory is a set of information with similar attributes organized in a logical and hierarchical manner. The most common example is the telephone directory, which consists of a series of names (either of a person or organization) organized alphabetically, with an address and phone number attached. LDAP is an alternative user authentication mechanism that may be used with Printgroove. Many companies have LDAP servers, like Active Directory, to store their user authentication information. You can also set the system to None.

3.6.3.1

Active Directory LDAP Authentication
If Printgroove needs to be configured to use a Microsoft Active Directory LDAP server, choose Active Directory Authentication from the menu. For login authentication to work properly, the user must exist in both Printgroove and the company LDAP server.
The Settings > LDAP menu will configure the Printgroove system to use your existing LDAP based system for user authentication. Each user is considered valid in Printgroove, if they are, in turn, able to authenticate to the LDAP server. Enter the fields with your data: Host Address: the hostname or IP Address of your LDAP Server Port: the port on which the LDAP Server is listening usually 389 Domain name: the domain to which the users belong This configuration means that when a user logs into Printgroove, the data is passed to the Active Directory LDAP server to authenticate. If this is a valid user and password, they will be allowed to login to Printgroove. The Reset button will reset the field values to the last Saved setting.
Enter the settings for your LDAP server in the fields provided. This affects both Serve and Guide. You may use the Test button to verify your settings. A message will indicate whether or not the test was successful. The screen will look something like the example below.
It is important to note that when using LDAP authentication, the users account must be created first in Printgroove. This allows the user account to have the correct permissions associated with their account. If the user account is not created first in Printgroove, the LDAP user will not be able to login.

Printgroove ships with a Self Signed Certificate associated with the hostname or IP address you provided at the time of your order with Konica Minolta. The figure below shows a sample SSL Settings screen with both types of certificate listed.
3.6.5.1 SSL: Create Self-Signed Certificate
Every Printgroove server requires SSL to ensure that the proprietary data is kept confidential. By default, each system ships with a Self Signed Certificate associated to the servers hostname. If your environment does not provide DNS (Domain Name System or IP address) for Printgroove, you should add a new certificate associated to your IP address as the default. To create a new certificate, login as sysadmin, go to the Settings > SSL menu, and click the New SSL Certificate link.
Complete the form shown to set up your new certificate, which includes: Certificate Name: give your certificate a name Host Name: identify your Host Server Certificate Type: choose Self Signed Certificate Certificate Duration: Select the time period from the pull-down menu (1 month, 6 months, 1-3 years) Corporate: enter your company information
Clicking Save for the SSL Certificate form with Self-Signed selected confirms that you have generated a new certificate and puts you in the Edit mode.
You can Edit any fields, or Return to the SSL Listing of certificates. The status of the new certificate rd will show as Pending. Since the self-signed method does not involve a 3 party vendor, the certificate generation will create the Certificate Code automatically and the status should change to Ready within a few minutes.
Click the Activate icon ( ) to activate the new certificate. Once the web server restarts, the new certificate will be fully active. Please note that you can create a new certificate from a previous one by clicking on the copy icon and editing the copy with the new information.
3.6.5.2 SSL: Certificate Signing Request
An SSL certificate that generates a CSR, or Certificate Signing Request, provides encrypted web communications verified by a third party Certificate Authority (CA) who digitally sign the SSL certificate verifying that the site communications are secure. The CSR is a string of text generated by your server software providing unique information about the site owner. To create a new certificate, login as sysadmin, go to the Settings > SSL menu, and click the New SSL Certificate link.
Complete the form shown to set up your new certificate, which includes: Certificate Name: give your certificate a name Host Name: identify your Host Server Certificate Type: choose Certificate Signing Request Certificate Duration: Select the time period from the pull-down menu (1 month, 6 months, or 1-3 years) Corporate: enter your company information

Please note that the SSL Certificate works for Serve and Guide, and Queue is handled separately. Click Save.
A CSR certificate is generated and it puts you in Edit mode.
Copy the text in the Certificate Signing Request field, and save it in a text file for sending to a 3rd party certifier, like VeriSign. Upon completion of your request, they will send back your certificate code, which needs to be added to the file.
Login as sysadmin and go to Settings > SSL. Edit the CSR SSL Certificate and paste the code from the vendor into the Certificate Code textbox.
Click the Save button and the status of the certificate will update to Ready. To make the new certificate active, click the Activate icon ( server restarts, the new certificate will be fully active. ) in the SSL Listing. Once the web

3.7 Backup

The Backup menu option provided with Printgroove allows you, the Administrator, to backup data that has been stored by and for Printgroove Serve and Guide. This data includes jobs and their associated files, and site customizations such as web pages, images, contact information and logos. The amount of data stored on a Printgroove server can potentially become quite large. To store this data safely, the backup system will split the backup data into chunks specifically sized for your intended storage media. (The system does not back up directly to CD or DVD, but to a temporary file directory in CD or DVD chunks.) The Backup feature allows restoration of customer data should a disaster scenario occur. You will restore from the rescue CD, load any patches that need to be installed, and then restore the data. Select Backup from the menu to open this window.
Please Note that customizations made to the underlying Linux system are not backed up including any changes to the networking, such as the IP Address.
Select either CD-R or DVD from the Media Size pull-down menu. This sets the maximum file size per segment. Enter a To and From address in the E-mail Notification section to have the system send e-mail notification of the Backup status to the address defined in the Send To field. The backup set of files will initially be stored in the identified directory on a separate server until you copy them to CD or DVD media. Enter your server information into the following fields to send the backup set to a temporary storage location. Domain: name of the network domain where the server resides IP Address: IP address of the Windows server (ex. 12.34.56.78) Share: name of the temporary storage directory (this is the folder name only; do not use path information here) Username: username for an account which has write access to the Windows server Password: password for the Windows account

The backup process can be scheduled to run automatically at selected intervals. To schedule the backup, choose an interval from the Schedule to Run pull-down menu (Daily, Weekly, Monthly). It is recommended that you choose a time to backup where there is no activity for an extended period of time to keep the data in a consistent state. Set the details of when you want the backup to run. In the example image below, the backup has been scheduled to run weekly, every Saturday at 1:00 AM.
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is important to note that users cannot access the Printgroove system while a backup is in process. Backups should be scheduled at times of user inactivity, such as nights or weekends.

3.8 Restore

The Restore menu option allows the Administrator to restore the Printgroove system information from the backup files in the event of an emergency. Note: A System Restore can only be done using a backup set of files as created in the previous section. In the Retrieve backup files from the window share: fields, enter the same information entered in the Backup screen, including domain name, IP address, and shared directory.
To restore data to Printgroove, you must be at the same version as when the system was backed up. Install the rescue CD, and the latest patch from Konica Minolta. Enter the Domain Name, IP Address, and Shared Directory you used to perform the Backup and place all of the segments that were backed up onto the Windows Share. Once that is complete, press the verify button. The system will connect to the Windows Share, verify write access, and check the consistency of the backup segments. (This may take some time.) Once successful verification has completed, a Restore button will become available. Click Restore to perform the backup starting in a few minutes. When completed, an e-mail will be sent to the user identified in the Send To address field. IMPORTANT NOTE: The backup set of files must be the ONLY files in the retrieval location. Make sure no other files are in the Windows shared directory entered above.

If you receive a proxy error, the settings in both Internet Options and FireFox will need to include your Printgroove server address in their exclusion file. Once the proxy exclusions are set, your should be able to upload files to Printgroove without further incident.
To enter the proxy exclusion for Internet Explorer, go to the Start menu and choose Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > Advanced > Proxy Exclusions. Enter the address of your Printgroove server in the Proxy Exceptions/Exclusions box.
If the problem is with Firefox, you still need to make the Internet Explorer adjustments, and then under Firefox go to Tools > Options > Network Connections> Settings. Enter your Printgroove server address in the No Proxy for: field as shown in the example below.
If you are uncomfortable editing advanced settings for a proxy server, contact your Administrator.
5.6 SSL Certificate Warnings
Your web site will most likely use a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) which encrypts data to secure communications on the Internet for web browsing, e-mail, and instant messaging. Your system Administrator will have this set up for your system.
If the message is from Firefox, you can read and accept the SSL Certificate either permanently or temporarily, or reject the certificate and do not continue on to connect to the web site.' If the SSL warning is received in IE, it means the same thing as when you get it in Firefox, and can be safely disregarded just as it can in Firefox as long as the domain hosting the Printgroove server is one you trust.

5.7 Time Changes

If the time on your PC and the Server (on which Printgroove resides) cannot be synchronized, you may not be able to login. You will receive a warning message (in an orange bar) that is similar to this:
This can occur if your Time Zone observes Daylight Savings Time, as does the East Coast of the U.S.A. You can adjust your clock by double-clicking on the time shown in your task bar.
User Logged Out by System
If you are logged out of the Printgroove application, by the system, it could be one of several reasons: (1) your session timed out from inactivity, (2) the system logged you out for system maintenance reasons, or (3) the system logged you out because someone changed your password during your session. The messages are shown below.

Contact your Administrator to find out when it is alright for you to login again.
