| The picture quality started out very good on my monitor, but deteriorated over a couple of years. Vertical banding began to appear. Now. When my kids hit my sons (then 10-years old) laptop screen with a lacrosse stick for the second time, Comp USA would not replace it again. | |

| Shockingly Bad customer service I purchased this monitor and registered it online. No Samsung customer service My one star is not because this is a bad monitor, but because Samsung will not stand by their product and warranty claims. An Excellent Monitor for the Price This arrived quickly, packed with the essential cords, and works great. | |

| Samsung SM226BW Monitor At his request I bought this for my son at Christmas. He had researched it and said that it was the bees knees. Blurry when showing fast-moving images - on its way back to Amazon I bought this panel. Good in principle, but in practice.... Replacing an old Dell flatscreen, I read up on a lot of monitors. Mmmm Not Really Samsung...Part 2 Why didnt I just stick with the review made by C. Falconer "Mmmm Not Really Samsung...,"? | |

| My son has already thrown a toy into the screen and killed a pixel. Oh what can you do? Life goes on... I researched for a monitor that was supior. Very nice monitor, I am able to get so much desktop displayed on this screen - it is great! Multiple browsers, large .xls files. | |

| I have used many lcd monitors, and this is by far my favorite one. No dead pixels, great refresh rate, bright, sharp image quality. In all. I dual boot XP and Vista. I found it interesting that this monitor looked near perfect with XP out of the box. Albeit too bright. In Vista however. | |

Windows Installation 5
Installing the Printer Installer
The software on the CD-ROM is localized in several languages. The Installer is automatically launched when you insert the CD-ROM. You can also double click setup.exe in the root folder of the CD-ROM. Select the language for the software to be installed. Then follow the instructions given by the Installer. This will install the Printer Installer which supports easy installation of a Windows printer. To uninstall the software, launch the Installer from the CD-ROM, or launch Control panel Software Konica Minolta bizhub PRO 1050 Plug-in Driver Package, then select Remove. The software should also be uninstalled before installing a new version of the software.

Installing a Printer
Printer Installer
The POD Server Printer Installer is an easy-to-use application to install Windows printers. Launch Printer Installer from the Start menu and click Next.
Enter the printer name or IP address of your bizhub PRO 1050 and click Next. This will install the bizhub PRO 1050 as a Windows printer. For Windows XP and Windows 2000, the printer will be created using an lpr port, e.g. myprinter:print. For Windows NT4 and Windows 98, the printer will be created using a NetBIOS port, e.g. \\myprinter\print. To establish another connection (NetBIOS or port 9100), select Other Connection, and click Next. Note: If your network uses DNS, the administrator should make sure that the network name assigned to the bizhub PRO 1050 matches the network name stored in the DNS.
Windows Installation 7
Printer Installer shows you a list of printer models to be installed. If no model is shown, click Have Disk to select an.inf file in the printer driver folder on the CD-ROM for your operating system. Select a printer model and click Next. Note: During printer installation, Windows 2000 and Windows XP may show a warning about a missing digital signature. You should continue the installation anyway. After the printer installation, the printer can be selected from the print dialog of your applications.
8 Windows Installation
Add Printer
Alternatively to the Printer Installer, you can install a printer using the Add Printer function. Select Start menu Settings Printers and Faxes Add Printer and click Next. Note: Depending on your settings for the start menu, Printers and Faxes will either unfold to the list of printers or open the Printers and Faxes Explorer window. In the latter case, double click Add Printer to launch it.
Make sure Automatically detect Plug and Play Printer is not checked. Select Local Printer and click Next.
Windows Installation 9

After the printer installation, the printer can be selected from the print dialog of your applications.
Windows Installation 11
Installable Options
The installable options determine which optional accessories are available on your bizhub PRO 1050 (e.g. large capacity trays or stapler). The installable options tailor the user interface of the printer driver on your PC and prevent the accidental selection of features which are not supported by the bizhub PRO 1050. To make the accessories available in the printer driver you must enable the corresponding installable options. To configure the installable options, open Start menu Settings Printers and Faxes KONICA MINOLTA 1050 PS (Plug-in), then select Properties. This opens the properties dialog of your bizhub PRO 1050 Windows printer.
Select bizhub PRO 1050. This shows the plug-ins installable options panel.
12 Windows Installation
Click Gather Option Information to let the printer driver plug-in auto-detect the installable options. You may also change an option value manually. This can be used, e.g. to create jobs as PostScript files for a bizhub PRO 1050 which is not currently connected to your PC and may have different options installed. Click OK twice to confirm your changes. After you have enabled the available installable options, the features corresponding to those options will be available in the printer driver. Normalize PostScript may be enabled if you need to use certain plug-in features, e.g. tray selection per page, with applications like Adobe PageMaker which have their own PostScript driver based only on a PPD. Note: Normalize PostScript should be used with caution as it may change the output of objects like outline fonts or embedded EPS files. If you want to use the driver with Normalize PostScript enabled for PageMaker, and with Normalize PostScript disabled for other applications, you may install the driver twice and enable Normalize PostScript only in one of the printers. Note: If the bizhub PRO 1050 is used as a shared printer on a network server (and not directly), the printer driver plug-in will not be able to configure installable options automatically. In this case, set the installable options manually. Note: Do not use Device Settings Form to Tray Assignment in the printer properties dialog to perform tray selection. Using different settings than the default may cause unexpected results.
This creates a section in the MS Word document with the selected page size.
20 Windows Printing
After a document has been created in an application, it can be printed on a bizhub PRO 1050. Printing the document is initiated in the Print dialog, which calls the printer driver to generate a PostScript data stream, the job. The data stream represents the elements on the document pages. It is amended by detailed instructions for processing, the job ticket. The job ticket contains information like page size and orientation, number of copies, tray selection, imposition and finishing modes. To print a document, select the Print dialog, usually by File Print.
The Print dialog may look differently in different applications. Usually you can select at least the following options: The Windows printer which corresponds to the bizhub PRO 1050 The range of pages to be printed The number of copies to be printed
Depending on the application, other options may be present. E.g. MS Word offers you the Collate option. Do not use this option to get sorted sets of documents, but use the Group check box in the Layout panel of the printer driver plug-in. To save your PostScript job to a file, check the Print to file box. This allows you to save your job and let it be printed on a bizhub PRO 1050 to which you are not connected now. To confirm printing, click the OK (or Print) button.
Windows Printing 21
Print Properties
To select more print options within the Print dialog, click the Properties (or Preferences) button.
The Properties dialog (Layout and Paper/Quality tab sheets and Advanced dialog) allows you to select the following options: Paper size the paper size selected here corresponds to the document page size selected in the page setup dialog. Orientation the orientation selected here corresponds to the document orientation selected in the page setup dialog. The orientation landscape rotated means that the pages are rotated by 180. This may be relevant if finishing options are applied, or if the document contains mixed paper sizes. Pages per sheet allows to print n-up (up to 16 pages per sheet) using the core printer driver. Further imposition options are available in the printer driver plug-in. Paper source selects the tray to be used for printing. Autoselect means the selection is performed in the engine, based on output paper size, orientation, and finishing requirements. See sections Paper and Trays for details on paper and tray selection. Page order selects front to back or back to front printing. Reordering is applied to document pages, i.e., pages are reversed before imposition (booklet etc.) is performed. See also Face up in section Layout.
Binding side left or right determines also the staple position. 5. Punch selects the punch mode: Off, 2 holes, 3 holes / 4 holes
The punch side (left, right, top) is determined by Binding. The availability of 3 or 4 holes depends on the installed punch unit. See Installable Options about how to configure the punch unit. The staple and punch options are applied across the feeding direction (to the edge of the paper which leaves the copier last). Therefore they restrict the orientation of the paper in the tray. E.g.,
Windows Printing 31
for an A4 or Letter portrait page with side stapling, you must have A4 or Letter, long edge fed paper in the selected tray, short edge fed paper will not work. 6. Fold selects the folding mode:
Half Fold (in/out)
Z-Fold (A3, B4, 11x17)
Z-Fold (8x14)
Center Staple and Fold
Center Staple and Fold, Trim
Letter Fold (in/out)
Zigzag Fold (in/out)
Double Parallel Fold (in/out) Gate Fold (in/out)
Multi-Letter Fold (in/out)
Multi Half Fold The In checkbox determines whether the printed side (first page) of the paper is folded to the inside or to the outside. Folding requires that the paper is short edge fed. Z folding is typically applied with mixed paper sizes where one size is twice as big as the other (e.g., A3 and A4 or Tabloid and Letter). In this case, the bigger paper is short edge fed and Z folded to match the size and orientation of the smaller paper. 7. Group selects if documents are output sorted or grouped: Sort (unchecked): 3 copies of a 3 page document are output as 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3. Group (checked): 3 copies of a 3 page document are output as 1-1-1, 2-2-2, 3-3-3.
Do not use the Collate option of the main printer driver dialog to select sort/group.
32 Windows Printing
Offset selects if copies are offset in the output tray for easy separation. Note: Offset is performed per set, i.e. for multiple copies of a multi page job, offset is performed after each copy. N to 1 outputs the pages in reverse order. N to 1 is applied after imposition has been performed. See also Page order in section Print Properties. N to 1 is not allowed with Center Staple and Fold, Trim or with Face up.
10. Face up selects if copies are output face up. Face up turns each sheet upside down on output. So if you print a simplex job of n pages face up, then page n will be on top, and page 1 at the bottom. Face up is applied after imposition has been performed. See also Page order in section Print Properties. 11. Creep Compensation compensates for creep, i.e. the effect that outer pages of a booklet do not line up with the inner pages when they are folded. To align bitmaps on the pages, the bitmaps of outer pages are moved outwards on the sheet. Creep compensation is applied in addition to gutter. Allowed values are 0 to 5 mm (step 0.01 mm) creep compensation per sheet. 12. Gutter determines a fixed margin to be applied between the two document pages of an imposition which are printed on the same side of a sheet. Allowed values are -250 to 250 mm (step 0.1 mm). Each page is shifted by the given amount, i.e. the resulting margin is twice the specified value. A negative gutter shifts both pages to and clips them at the center of the page.
44 Windows Printing
Tab Sheets
The Tab Sheets panel allows to configure general settings for tab sheet printing. The texts and page numbers for each tab are entered in the Trays panel, see section Trays. Papersize determines the paper size for the tab sheets. It can be A4 Tab or Letter Tab, corresponding to A4 or Letter paper size for the job. If Z folding is enabled, job pages may also have A3 or Tabloid size. Number of Tabs specifies how many tabs make a set of tab sheets. Together with Space above, Space below, and Gap, it allows to position the tab texts on each sheet. Font Name, Bold, Italic and Size determine the font for the tab text. Orientation determines the text orientation and direction on the tab. It can be Normal (downwards), Flipped (upwards), Horizontal, or Vertical. The tab preview window shows the orientation visually. Tab Position determines if the tab text is aligned at the top, center, or bottom of the tab. Text Position allows to move the tab text horizontally. By default, the visual center of the tab text is aligned with the horizontal center of the tab. The tab preview window shows a preview of each tab text which has a page number assigned. This allows you to check if the tab text fits into the tab. To select a tab, click on the desired tab in the page preview window. To step (step backwards) through the tabs, click (shift-click) repeatedly on the tab in the tab preview window. To actually print on tab sheets, put the set of tab sheets into the selected tray with long edge feed orientation, face down, first page on top, tabs to the left. (Note that this is reverse order.) Make sure the job pages (A4 for A4 Tab, Letter for Letter Tab) are also in long edge feed orientation. Note: Tab Sheet printing is not supported with imposition (Layout not equal Off).
Windows Printing 45
Screening
The Screening panel allows you to control the screen (raster) settings. Screen settings are applied to all elements on the page (text, graphics, and images). You can set the following attributes: 1. Halftonimg sets the screen frequency. The freqency is measured in lpi (lines per inch). Higher values yield a finer raster, but allow less grey levels to be distinguished. Screen angle sets the screen angle. In general it is good to print monochrome pages at an angle of 45. Print density selects the toner density to be applied by the copier: 4. Light 1, , Light 5, Normal, Dark
Smoothing selects the image smoothing to be applied by the copier: Off, Type 1, Type 2, Type 3
Notes: Off - no smoothing. Type 1 is suitable for printing the diagonal lines of general characters and graphics. Type 2 is suitable for printing the curved sections of general characters. Type 3 is suitable for printing the curved sections of ornamental characters and fine lines.
46 Windows Printing
The Forms panel allows you to apply forms. Forms are stored as rendered bitmaps on your bizhub PRO 1050. They can be appended behind, prepended in front of, or used as overlay for subsequent jobs. The forms preview allows to check a form visually before printing with it. Forms can be created using the Output Method function in the Workflow panel, see section Workflow. When the Forms panel is opened and a printer is connected, the plug-in obtains the forms list from the printer and shows it. The forms list is required for all other functions in the Forms panel. To update the forms list, select another panel and then the Forms panel again. After the plug-in has obtained the forms list, select a form to show its preview and enable the other forms functions. To step through the pages of a multi page form, click on the forward/back buttons beside the preview. Copy to Clipboard copies the currently shown page of the form in screen resolution into the clipboard. You can paste it into your document to align the contents of your document with the form. Before actually printing, you should of course remove the screen resolution copy from your document. Note: If you paste the forms preview into MS Word, make sure to paste it into a text field which is positioned at (0,0) from the page, which has all margins 0 and whose size is equal to the page size. This is to ensure that the forms preview is kept in full size and not wrongly scaled down. Prepend/Append determine that the pages of the selected form are prepended in front of the current job or appended behind the current job. Overlay Once determines that all pages of the form are overlaid once on the current job, starting from page 1. E.g. Overlay Once for a 4 page form on an 8 page job means that the form pages are overlaid on pages 1 to 4 of the job.
Windows Printing 47
Overlay Repeated determines that all pages of the form are overlaid repeatedly on the current job, starting from page 1, until each page of the job has been overlaid. For a one page form this means that the form is overlaid on each page of the job. For a two page form, page 1 of the form will be overlaid on all odd pages of the job, and page 2 on all even pages. Overlay Repeated does not work for forms with more than 2 pages. Overlay Pages together with a selection of page numbers determines that page 1 of the form is overlaid on the selected pages of the job. Page numbers can be entered like page numbers for tray selection, see section Trays. The action list shows the selected actions (prepend, append, overlay). To revoke an action, click on it, then click the Delete button shown for this action. To restore the defaults (in all panels), select Default in the list of settings and click Restore. Delete Form allows you to delete the selected form. The function is enabled when you enter the password for form deletion. This password is configured at your bizhub PRO 1050. To use overlay with impositions 2 Repeat and 2 Repeat Reverse: Create a form with the desired imposition, then use the form and apply the same imposition to the current job. Using overlay with other impositions is likely to produce undesired results.
52 Windows Printing
is printed in your presence. The job will be put into a list of private jobs and only be printed after you release it on the copier panel by entering the user id and password. The secure print id and the password must both consist of 1 - 8 alphanumeric characters. You may choose them yourself. To enter the secure print id and the password, select Autoprint Secure Print, click into the Secure Print ID field, enter the id, hit TAB to move to the Password field, enter the password, hit TAB to move to the Password confirmation field, enter the password again. While your input is invalid or not yet complete, the id and password fields will be shown with red background. Secure printing does not block other jobs. 5. User authentication encloses your user name and password with your job. This identification will be used to determine your printing rights. You must supply a user name and password if user authentication is enabled by the administrator of the bizhub PRO 1050. If you do not supply user name and password, you will be considered as a public user who may have no or only restricted rights to print. The user name must consist of 4 - 64 alphanumeric characters. The password must consist of 1 - 64 alphanumeric characters. User accounts are configured by the administrator of the bizhub PRO 1050. To enter the user name and the password, check User authentication, click into the User name field, enter the user name, hit TAB to move to the Password field, enter the password, hit TAB to move to the Password confirmation field, enter the password again. While your input is invalid or not yet complete, the user name and password fields will be shown with red background. Note: To work as public user, do not enter a user name like PUBLIC. The public user is identified by no user name. 6. Account Track encloses a department name and/or password with your job. This identification will be used for tracking copying volume. You must supply a department name and/or password if volume tracking is enabled by the administrator of the bizhub PRO 1050. The department name must consist of up to 8 alphanumeric characters. The password must consist of 1 - 8 alphanumeric characters. An empty department name means the department is identified by the password. Department accounts are configured by the administrator of the bizhub PRO 1050. To enter the department name and the password, check Volume track settings, click into the Department name field, enter the department name, hit TAB to move to the Password field, enter the password, hit TAB to move to the Password confirmation field, enter the password again. While your input is invalid or not yet complete, the password fields will be shown with red background.
Windows Printing 53
Output method allows you to select that your job is stored in a box for later reprinting. A box is a container at the copier which is created by the administrator. Print is the default and means normal printing. Save in user box stores the job in the specified box without printing it. Save in user box and print stores the job in the specified box and prints it. Forms allows you to create a form in the Forms panel.
To store a job in a box, select Output method Save in user box (and print), click into the User box number field, enter the box number, hit TAB to move to the Filename field, and enter the filename. An empty box number indicates the public box which is accessible without user authentication. Other box numbers are assigned to user accounts and you must authenticate by your user name and password to access them. Each box number is accessible only to one registered user. A job in a box is identified by box number and filename. This means when you store a job with a box number and filename which are already present, you will overwrite the old job. Note: The identification and password settings for secure printing, user authentication, volume tracking, and box number are not cleared when you click Restore defaults. To clear them, enter other values manually.

Installing the Printer Driver Software
The bizhub PRO 1050 client software is delivered on a hybrid Windows and Macintosh CD-ROM. The CD-ROM contains one folder for each supported language. For each language it contains drivers for MacOS 9 and MacOS X.
Open the folder of your choice.
The MacOS X printer driver comes as an installer package containing the software for all languages. The printer driver software consists of a PPD which defines printer properties, a printer driver plug-in which provides advanced printing functions under a graphical user interface, and a CUPS filter which injects PostScript code generated by the plug-in. Double click the bizhub PRO 1050 package icon to install the bizhub PRO 1050 software. Follow the instructions given by the Installer.
MacOS X Installation 55
The installer installs the software for MacOS X version 10.3 or 10.2. The description below refers to version 10.3 if nothing else is mentioned. The bizhub PRO 1050 printer driver reference guide is stored as a PDF file in the UserGuide folder. You may print it for use with the bizhub PRO 1050. For printing a PDF file you need Adobe Reader (Acrobat Reader) which is available from http://www.adobe.com.
In the resulting dialog, behind Format for, select KONICA MINOLTA 1050 PS (Plug-in) as your current printer, then select the size and orientation for your document. The paper sizes of the bizhub PRO 1050 are described in appendix Paper Sizes. Note: The document page size as defined in Page Setup may be different from the output paper size on which you print. E.g. if you print using booklet layout, the output paper size will be twice the document page size. The output paper size can be selected in the Print dialog. Orientation may be portrait, landscape rotated left, or landscape rotated right. Left and right rotation makes a difference e.g. if you create documents with mixed A4 portrait and A3 landscape or mixed Letter portrait and Tabloid landscape pages. In order to obtain the same handling as for the Windows version of the bizhub PRO 1050 driver, select left rotation.
60 MacOS X Printing
MacOS X allows you to define multiple named custom page sizes. To define a custom page size, select File Page Setup. In the Page Setup dialog, behind Settings, select Custom Paper Size. This will show the Custom Paper Size dialog:
Click New to create a new custom paper size. Enter the name, the size, and the margins for the custom paper size. To save your settings, click Save or OK. The newly defined paper size will appear in the list of paper sizes for all printers.
MacOS X Printing 61
After a document has been created in an application, it can be printed on a bizhub PRO 1050. Printing the document is initiated in the Print dialog, which calls the printer driver to generate a PostScript data stream, the job. The data stream represents the elements on the document pages. It is amended by detailed instructions for processing, the job ticket. The job ticket contains information like page size and orientation, number of copies, tray selection, imposition and finishing modes. To print a document, select File Print.
The popup labeled Printer allows you to select the printer which corresponds to the target bizhub PRO 1050. The popup labeled Presets allows you to save and load your own named combinations of settings. To save the current settings, select Save as and enter a name for them. After this, the saved settings can be selected by this name from the popup. The unlabeled third popup allows you to select a panel of the Print dialog, including the panels of the printer driver plug-in. In the Copies and Pages panel, you can select the following options: The range of pages to be printed The number of copies to be printed
MacOS 9 Installation 67
After you have installed both the Adobe printer driver and the bizhub PRO 1050 specific printer driver software, you can install a printer. To install a printer, open the Chooser and select AdobePS. If zones are enabled in your network, select the zone entered for your bizhub PRO 1050.
Select a printer from the list of PostScript printers and click Create. This will create a desktop printer for the selected printer. The printer installation automatically selects a PPD matching the bizhub PRO 1050. If you are prompted for a PPD, you may not have installed the bizhub PRO 1050 specific printer driver software before. In this case, install the bizhub PRO 1050 software, then install the desktop printer.
68 MacOS 9 Installation
The installable options tailor the user interface of the printer driver on your Mac and prevent the accidental selection of features which are not supported by the bizhub PRO 1050. The installable options determine which optional accessories are available (e.g. large capacity trays or stapler). To make the accessories available in the printer driver you must enable the corresponding installable options. To edit the installable options, select the printer in the Chooser, and click Setup.
In the Setup dialog, click Configure. This allows you to change the installable options.
MacOS 9 Installation 69
In the resulting dialog, select KONICA MINOLTA 1050 PS (Plug-in) as your current printer, then select the size and orientation (portrait or landscape) for your document. The paper sizes of the bizhub PRO 1050 are described in appendix Paper Sizes. Note that the document page size may be different from the paper size on which you print. E.g. if you print using booklet layout, the paper size will be twice the document page size. The output paper size can be selected in the Print dialog. Note: Do not use the Booklet option in this dialog, but select Layout = Booklet in the Layout panel of the printer driver plug-in. Note: Landscape pages are rotated left (not right) on the output paper. This makes a difference e.g. if you create documents with mixed A4 portrait and A3 landscape or mixed Letter portrait and Tabloid landscape pages. The handling is different from some other Macintosh drivers, but compatible to the Windows version of the bizhub PRO 1050 driver.
70 MacOS 9 Printing
MacOS 9 allows you to define multiple named custom page sizes. To define a custom page size, select File Page Setup. In the Page Setup dialog, click on Page Attributes, then select Custom Page Default. This will show the Custom Page Size dialog:
Enter the size and the name of your custom size, then click Add. This defines your custom paper size as a standard paper size. You may continue and define more custom paper sizes. Click OK to confirm your changes. The newly defined paper sizes will be available like standard paper sizes for the selected printer.
Some applications allow you to create documents with mixed page sizes. This can be used, e.g., to create a report consisting of A4 or Letter portrait pages with text and some A3 or Tabloid landscape pages with large tables. To create a document with mixed page sizes, e.g. in MS Word, create several pages, select the text on the pages which shall have a different size, select File Page Setup, select a page size, select the Microsoft Word panel, select Apply to Selected text, and click OK. MS Word documents with mixed page sizes work on the Macintosh only if they have been created on the Macintosh, not if they have been created under Windows.
MacOS 9 Printing 71
In each panel of the Print dialog you can select the printer which corresponds to the target bizhub PRO 1050. On opening, the Print dialog shows the General panel. Within this panel, you can select the following options: The range of pages to be printed The number of copies to be printed Paper source the tray to be used for printing. Autoselect means the selection is performed in the engine, based on output paper size, orientation, and finishing requirements. See sections Paper and Trays for details on paper and tray selection. Reverse order selects front to back or back to front printing. Reordering is applied to document pages, i.e., pages are reversed before imposition (booklet etc.) is performed. See also Face up in section Layout.
Note: Do not use the First page from option in this dialog. To print pages from other trays than the job tray, use the selections in the Cover and Trays panels of the printer driver plug-in. See sections Cover and Trays. To save the settings you have made for your bizhub PRO 1050, click Save Settings.
72 MacOS 9 Printing
To save your PostScript job to a file, change Destination to File. This allows you to save your job and let it be printed on an bizhub PRO 1050 to which you are not connected now. To save your job, click the Save button. To confirm printing, click the Print button.
Printing from Adobe PageMaker Adobe PageMaker uses, by default, its own printer driver which does not support the printer driver plug-in, but works only with PPDs. PageMakers own driver is also known to have problems with the bizhub PRO 1050 PPD. To use PageMaker with the AdobePS printer driver which supports the plug-in: Hold the ALT key and select File Print (not CMD-P). This opens PageMakers Print dialog. (Here you cannot select a PPD and you cannot change print features.) Click Setup. This opens the Page Setup dialog. Select your printer and click OK. This opens the AdobePS Print dialog (as from other applications). Select your print features and click Print. This returns you to PageMakers Print dialog. Click Print to confirm and print. Printing from Adobe Acrobat In order to ensure that imposition (Layout not equal Off in the Layout panel) works correctly, you must instruct Acrobat to generate page independent code. In the Print dialog, select the Acrobat 5.0 panel. Make sure the checkbox Save Printer Memory is off. This will let Acrobat create page independent code suitable for imposition.
Enter your username. While your input is still too short, a graphical indication for missing characters is shown. Hit TAB to move to the password field, then enter the password.

Using Perfect Binder PB-502
The machine with the optional Perfect Binder PB-502 installed automatically attaches a copied set with a cover sheet to make a perfect-bound book, applying a dab of glue in the center line of the cover sheet to fix the spine. In the Perfect Binding mode, both simplex and duplex copying are available for the body set, and also the cover sheet can be blank, simplex-printed or duplex-printed, and even trimmed to match with the thickness of the body set to cover. The binding direction can be selected from left and right.
Use only the paste GC-501 for this binder. Handle melted hot paste only with great care. In order to prevent degradation of paste owing to heating, ensure that the machine is turned off when it is not in use. It is recommended that you adjust the time settings for the low power mode and shut-off mode to the main body to suite the usage of the Perfect Binder, since they apply to the binder as well.
