SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT
This package contains the following materials provided by Konica Minolta Business Technologies, Inc. (KMBT): software included as part of the printing system, the digitally-encoded machine-readable outline data encoded in the special format and in the encrypted form (Font Programs), other software which runs on a computer system for use in conjunction with the Printing Software (Host Software), and related explanatory written materials (Documentation). The term Software shall be used to describe Printing Software, Font Programs and/or Host Software and also include any upgrades, modified versions, additions, and copies of the Software. The Software is being licensed to you under the terms of this Agreement. KMBT grants to you a non-exclusive sublicense to use the Software and Documentation, provided that you agree to the following: 1. You may use the Printing Software and accompanying Font Programs for imaging to the licensed output device(s), solely for your own internal business purposes. 2. In addition to the license for Font Programs set forth in Section 1 (Printing Software) above, you may use Roman Font Programs to reproduce weights, styles, and versions of letters, numerals, characters and symbols (Typefaces) on the display or monitor for your own internal business purposes. 3. You may make one backup copy of the Host Software, provided your backup copy is not installed or used on any computer. Notwithstanding the above restrictions, you may install the Host Software on any number of computers solely for use with one or more printing systems running the Printing Software. 4. You may assign its rights under this Agreement to an assignee of all of Licensees right and interest to such Software and Documentation (Assignee) provided you transfer to Assignee all copies of such Software and Documentation Assignee agrees to be bound by all of the terms and conditions of this Agreement. 5. You agree not to modify, adapt or translate the Software and Documentation. 6. You agree that you will not attempt to alter, disassemble, decrypt, reverse engineer or decompile the Software. 7. Click Remove.
Uninstalling the Printer Driver
After the uninstallation has been completed, click Close.
This completes the uninstallation of the magicolor 2590MF printer driver.
Specifying Page Setup Settings
The following dialog box appears when Page Setup. is selected from the File menu in the application being used.
Select Page Setup. from the File menu. The Page Setup dialog box appears. Select this printer in the Format for pop-up menu.
You can select the following sections from the Settings pop-up menu. Section Page Attributes Save As Default Description This is used to specify the settings for the paper size, scaling, and print orientation. This is used to save the new settings as the defaults.
Page Attributes Options
The Page Attributes section is used to specify the settings for the paper size, scaling, and print orientation.
Paper Size Select the desired paper size from the Paper Size pop-up menu. Orientation Select either a vertical or horizontal page orientation for printouts. Scale If you want to enlarge or reduce the size of the printout, enter the scale ratio here (25-400%). Regardless of which paper size is selected, the printer does not print within 0.157" (4 mm) of the edge of the paper.
Specifying Custom Paper Size
You can also specify a paper size that is not listed in the Paper Size pop-up menu.
Select Manage Custom Sizes from the pop-up menu, in the Page Setup dialog box. The Custom Page Sizes dialog box appears.
+ Click this button to create a new custom page size. Click this button to delete a custom page size. Duplicate Click this button to duplicate (copy) the settings of an existing custom page size and create a new custom page size based on those settings. Paper Size Enter the dimensions of the paper height and width for the custom page size. Height: 5.8 - 14.0" (148 -356 mm) Width: 3.6 - 8.5" (92 - 216 mm) Printer Margins Enter the dimensions for the top, left, right, and bottom margins. After you have finished entering the settings, click OK.
Specifying Print Settings
The following dialog box appears when Print. is selected from the File menu in the application being used.
Select Print. from the File menu. The Print dialog box appears. Select this printer in the Printer pop-up menu. The Print dialog box is used to specify the following print options.

Description This section contains options for the number of copies to be printed and the range of pages to print. This section contains options for specifying the page layout when printing and the setting for double-sided printing. This section contains options for specifying the print timing and priority of jobs. This section contains options for specifying the pages to be printed and their printing order. This section contains options for specifying ColorSync settings. This section contains options for specifying cover page settings. This section contains paper feed options.
Installing the Scanner Driver
You must have administrator privileges in order to install the scanner driver. Before proceeding with the installation, be sure to exit all running applications. In the following text, TWAIN driver may be used to indicate the scanner driver.
Installing the magicolor 2590MF Scanner Driver
The procedure for installing the printer driver on Mac OSX 10.4 is described below. The following procedure or some steps may be different depending on the version of the operating system being used. Complete the installation according to the instructions in the dialog boxes that appear. Insert the magicolor 2590MF Drivers and Documentation CD-ROM in the CD/DVD-ROM drive of your Macintosh. Double-click the CD icon on the desktop, Mac folder, Scanner Driver folder, and then double-click the mc2590MF Scanner.pkg.
This completes the installation of the magicolor 2590MF scanner driver.
Specify the Scan Settings
Auto Scanning Mode
Original Size Specify the original size. Scan Type Specify the scan type. Resolution Specify the resolution. Scanning mode Select Auto or Manual. When Manual is selected, settings can be specified for Rotation type, Brightness/Contrast, Sharp, Curves, Levels, Color Balance and Hue/Saturation. Image size Shows the data size of the scan image. Scan Click to begin scanning. About Shows the software version information. Close Click to close the TWAIN driver window. Preview Window Displays a preview of the scan.
Clear Erases the preview. Width/Height Shows the width and height of the area to be scanned. Prescan Displays a preview in the preview window. Help Displays the Help.
Manual Scanning Mode
Rotation The TWAIN driver support 3 kinds of rotation type: None, Right 90, Left 90 Brightness/Contrast
This function is used to set the brightness and contrast of the image.
This function is used to sharpen the image or blur it for special effect. Curves
This function is used to set the gamma of the image. In the graph, the X-axis represents the input level, and the Y-axis represents the output level. The selections include Reset, Value input, Folded line, and Curved line. There are three input controls available: the scroll bar, the editing field, or by directly dragging the points of the folded or curved lines. This function will allow you to brighten or darken the overview of the image without changing the original resolution of the image.
Name Filename list
Description Select the number to be added to the file name for the scanned image to be saved. Even if a new file name has been specified, file names that have been used can also be selected from the list. If there are no numbers at the end of the specified file name, 0001 is automatically added. If the extension of a file format compatible with LinkMagic is added to the specified file name, the file is automatically saved in that file format. Range: Up to 255 characters Default: Scan0001+ extension
Folder text box
Specify the name of the folder where the scanned image is to be saved. To display the Browse for Folder dialog box in order to browse to a folder on the computer, click the [Browse] button. Range: Up to 255 characters including the file name Default: \Documents and Settings\[Login user name]\My Documents\KONICAMINOLTA LinkMagic for magicolor 2590MF\MyData
Save as multipage file check box
Select this check box to save the file in a multi-page format when images are scanned continuously with the ADF. This option is available when TIFF or PDF is selected in the Format list. Default: Checked
Send the scanned image to this application. check box
Select this check box to start up the specified software and open the scanned image file after the image is scanned. Default: Unchecked

Saving Scanned Images to the Clipboard
An image scanned with the machine can be copied to the Clipboard. In addition, the area to be copied to the Clipboard can be selected. For details on the settings available in the Scan to Clipboard dialog box, refer to Description of the Scan to Clipboard Dialog Box on page 70. With this procedure, the ADF cannot be used to scan continuously. If multiple pages are scanned, only the first page is displayed in the preview area. In the Scan Modes group box of the main window, click the [Scan to Clipboard] button. The Scan to Clipboard dialog box appears.
Original Size list Select the size of the document. These settings are available when Basic is selected in the Basic/Advanced list. If Custom Size is selected, a new paper size setting can be added from the Custom Size Setting dialog box that appears. Choices: A4, B5, A5, Legal, Letter, Custom Size Default: A4 Scan Type list Select the color type of the document. These settings are available when Basic is selected in the Basic/Advanced list. Choices: B/W, Gray, True Color Default: True Color Destination group box Select the settings for saving scanned images. Format list Select the file format for the scanned image. Size Limit list
Select the limit for the file size of images to be attached to E-mail messages. If Custom is selected, a new size limit setting can be added from the Custom Size Settings [Size Limit] dialog box that appears. If Basic is selected in the Basic/ Advanced list, the resolution is automatically reduced so that the size of the image file does not exceed the size limit specified here. Choices: 75Kbyte, 150Kbyte, 500Kbyte, 1Mbyte, 3Mbyte, None, Custom Default: 150Kbyte
Mail Application group Specify the E-mail application used for attaching box the image.
Description E-mail applications installed on the computer are automatically searched for and added to the list. To browse to software on the computer, click the [Browse] button. An E-mail application bundled with Windows is automatically selected. In addition, 32-bit applications are given priority during detection. To use a 64-bit E-mail application as the Windows-bundled software, start up the E-mail application to be used before performing the Scan and Mail operation. Range: Up to 259 characters Default: First E-mail application that was found

Printing Scanned Images
An image scanned with the machine can be printed from a printer. For details on the settings available in the Scan and Print dialog box, refer to Description of the Scan and Print Dialog Box on page 80. In the Scan Modes group box of the main window, click the [Scan and Print] button. The Scan and Print dialog box appears.
From the Basic/Advanced list in the Scanner Settings group box, select the general scan setting. - If Basic is selected, scans will be produced with the basic settings. In the Scanner Settings group box, select the document size from the Original Size list and the document color type from the Scan Type list. - If Advanced is selected, specify detailed settings from the TWAIN driver dialog box that appears. For details on the available TWAIN driver settings, refer to the Printer/ Copier/Scanner Users Guide. In the Printer Settings group box, specify the settings for printing the scanned image. When Advanced is selected, the TWAIN driver starts up. However, clicking the Scan and Print dialog box allows the settings in the Printer Settings group box to be changed.
Click the [Start] button. Scanning begins, and the image is printed from the specified printer.
Description of the Scan and Print Dialog Box
Basic/Advanced Select the general scan setting. list If Basic is selected, specify basic settings from the Original Size and Scan Type lists. If Advanced is selected, detailed settings can be specified from the TWAIN driver dialog box that appears. The resolution is 300 dpi when Basic is selected. Choices: Basic, Advanced Default: Basic
Original Size list Select the size of the document. These settings are available when Basic is selected in the Basic/Advanced list. If Custom Size is selected, a new paper size setting can be added from the Custom Size Setting dialog box that appears. Choices: B/W, Gray, True Color Default: True Color Printer Settings group box Centered on Page check box Specify the settings for printing the scanned image. If this check box is selected while Manual is selected below Scaling, the image will be printed at the center of the printable area. Default: Checked Paper Size list Select the size of paper that is to be printed. The orientation of the paper to be printed on cannot be changed. The image is normally printed with the paper in the portrait orientation. Choices: Paper sizes available with the selected printer Default: Paper specified by the selected printer
Name Scaling group box
Description Specify how the image to be printed is enlarged or reduced. Select Auto to enlarge or reduce the image according to the paper size selected in the Paper Size list. Select Manual to specify the enlargement or reduction ratio. Choices: Auto, Manual Default: Auto
N-Up list
Multiple image pages can be printed together on a single sheet of paper. Choices: Off, 2 in 1, 4 in 1 Default: Off
Printer list Copies text box [Reprint] button
Select the printer to be used for printing. Choices: Printers connected to the computer Specify the number of copies to be printed. The image that had just been printed can be printed again. Click this button, and then specify the number of copies to be printed in the Reprint dialog box that appears. The [Reprint] button is not available if the Scan and Print dialog box had been closed.
Registering Frequently Used Software
Frequently used software can be registered with launcher buttons. Clicking a launcher button starts up the registered software. The launcher buttons are automatically programmed with the following software if they are installed on the computer. - Microsoft Word 2000/XP/2003/2007 - Microsoft Excel 2000/XP/2003/2007 - Microsoft PowerPoint 2000/XP/2003/2007 - PaperPort 10 SE - FaxTalk 4.7 - Adobe Photoshop CS2
Registering Software With Launcher Buttons
Right-click a button below Launcher Area, and then click Launcher Button Setting.
The Launcher Button Setting dialog box appears.
In the Name text box, type the name of the button. A maximum of 30 characters can be entered. In the Path text box, type the path to the software to be registered. To browse to software on the computer, click the [Browse] button. A maximum of 259 characters can be entered. Click the [OK] button. The software is registered with the launcher button. Click the [Initialize] button to reset the settings to their defaults.

Connecting to the Machine
Click. A connection can also be created by clicking Connect on the Machine menu. When LSU is connected to the machine, Connect Status: ONLINE appears. While operations are being performed in LSU, the machine cannot be operated from its control panel.
Downloading Information from the Machine
Click. The information can also be downloaded by clicking Download on the Machine menu.
Programming a One-touch Dial Number
beside the machine icon, and then click One Touch.
From the list that is displayed, double-click the one-touch dial number to be programmed. A maximum of 9 one-touch dial numbers can be programmed.
In the Register One Touch dialog box for the selected number, specify the desired settings. Only numbers and letters can be typed in.
Click the [OK] button. Programming of the one-touch dial number is completed.
Editing a One-touch Dial Number
From the list that is displayed, double-click the one-touch dial number to be edited. If a programmed one-touch dial number is selected, the information can be changed. When editing the information, the Cut, Copy, Paste and Delete commands on the Edit menu can be selected.
Programming a Speed Dial Number
beside the machine icon, and then click Speed Dial.
From the list that is displayed, double-click the speed dial number to be programmed.
A maximum of 100 speed dial numbers can be programmed.
In the Register Speed Dial dialog box for the selected number, specify the desired settings. Only numbers and letters can be typed in.
Setting Up Your Browser Software
Since your printer resides on your intranet and is not accessible beyond the firewall of your network, you must set up the proper preferences in your browser software. Your printer name or IP address must be added to the no proxy list in the preferences dialog box of the browser. You need to do this procedure only once. The sample screens below may be different from yours depending on software versions and operating systems in use. Our examples represent the IP address of the printer with xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. Always enter your printer's IP address without leading zeros. For example, 192.168.001.002 should be entered as 192.168.1.2.
Internet Explorer (version 6.0 for Windows)
Start Internet Explorer. From the Tools menu choose Internet Options. Select the Connections tab on the dialog box. Choose the LAN Settings button to display the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings dialog box. Select Advanced in Proxy server to open the Proxy Settings dialog box. In the Exceptions text box, type a comma after the last entry and then type the printer name or the IP address of your printer. Choose OK three times to return to the main browser window. Enter the printers IP address in the URL Address box to access the printer home page.
Safari (version 1.2)
From the Apple menu, choose Location, and then click Network preferences. Click Configure in the Network preferences dialog box. Click the Proxies tab. In the Bypass proxy settings for these Hosts & Domains list, type in the name or IP address of the printer. Click Apply Now. In the URL address bar, type in the name or IP address of the printer to access the printers Web page.

Configuration area
Navigation
Selecting the main topic and subtopic displays the configuration area for the printer options (parameters) associated with your selections. To change a current setting, click on the current setting and then select from the available choices or enter the new value. In order to apply or save any changes made to the configuration settings, PageScope Web Connection must be logged in from Administrator Mode. (For details, refer to Administrator Mode on page 132.)
Understanding the PageScope Web Connection
Current Status
The current status of the printer is displayed at the top of all PageScope Web Connection windows. The icon displays the type of status being displayed. Icon Status Ready Description Examples
Initialize
The System - Maintenance - Initialize page allows you to reset the machine settings to their factory defaults. Item Network Setting All Clear button Description Resets the network settings to their defaults. Resets all settings to their defaults. When clicked, the message Do you really want to return the settings to the factory default? appears. Click Yes to automatically restart the printer and return the settings to their default values.
Counter
The System - Maintenance - Counter window provides the following information: Item Total Counter Description Indicates the total number of all printed and scanned pages, the total number of double-sided prints, the total number of scanned document pages, and the total number of printed pages. Indicates the number of copied pages (in color, in black and white, and in total). Indicates the number of printed pages (in color, in black and white, and in total).
Copy Counter Print Counter
Scan/Fax Counter Indicates the total number of stored pages that were printed, the total number of pages scanned in Fax mode and Scan mode, the total number of sent fax pages (Tx), and the total number of received fax pages (Rx). Color Total Counter Indicates the total number of pages printed in color and the total number of pages printed in black and white.
Online Assistance
The System - Online Assistance window allows you to configure the following items: Item Contact Name Description Sets the name of the person or organization responsible for providing assistance with the printer. Speed Dial Setting
On the Fax/E-mail - Speed Dial Setting page, settings for speed dialing can be specified. Item Speed Dial List No. Description Click to jump to the beginning of the speed dial list within the same page. Displays the speed dial number. Click a speed dial number where no destination is registered to display the Speed Dial Registration page, and then select the type of speed dial destination to be added. If a destination is already registered with the speed dial number that is clicked, the registered information can be edited. Displays the name of the speed dial number. Displays the destination information (fax number or E-mail address) registered with the speed dial number. Displays the fax transmission speed when faxing with the corresponding type of one-touch dial destination. Deletes the corresponding one-touch dial number.

Moves down in the menu structure. Scrolls downward through the available menu choices. For details, refer to Specifying Settings in Configuration Menu on page 26.

Fax Mode Screen
About the Fax Mode Screen
Press the Fax key to display the Fax mode screen. The following appears in the Fax mode screen. Position Upper Part Name Mode or function name Description Indicates the currently selected mode or function settings. Displays the current menu, function or settings. Error messages are displayed when errors occur. The current time and remaining amount of memory is displayed during standby. Lower Messages Displays messages such as operating instructions.
About the Function Mode Screen
Press the Function key to display the Function mode screen. The following appears in the Function mode screen. Position Part Name Upper Function name Description 1.BROADCAST A fax can be sent to multiple recipients in a single transmission. For details, refer to Sending a Fax to Multiple Recipients (Broadcast Transmission) on page 38. 2.TIMER TX A document can be scanned and stored in memory to be sent at a specified time. For details, refer to Sending a Fax at a Specified Time (Timer Transmission) on page 40. 3.CANCEL RESERV. Of the documents stored in memory and waiting to be sent, a specific document can be selected and deleted. For details, refer to Canceling (Deleting) a Document Queued in Memory for Transmission on page 42. Lower Messages Displays messages such as operating instructions.
Entering Fax Mode
Before using the Fax function, make sure that the Fax key lits green. Otherwise, press it to enter the Fax mode. Pressing the Speed Dial key, Redial/Pause key or a one-touch dial key switches the machine to Fax mode when it is in any mode other than Fax mode.

Specify the density for scanning a document. Settings STD / FINE / S/F / H/T Select the default scanning resolution (image quality). STD: For documents containing normal text (such as handwriting) (Standard) FINE: For documents containing small text S/F: For documents such as newspapers or those containing detailed illustrations (Super Fine) H/T: For documents with shades, such as photos (Half Tone) If H/T was selected, a screen appears, allowing you to select a detailed setting (STD, FINE or S/F). To change the resolution from the default setting before transmission, press the Resolution key. Settings ON / OFF Select whether or not the transmission information (date sent, senders name, fax number, etc.) is printed on sent faxes. On models for the USA, Canada and Korea, OFF cannot be selected.
1.MEMORY RX MODE Settings ON / OFF Select whether to allow (ON) memory reception or not (OFF). In cases when confidential faxes are being received, the received documents can be stored in memory and printed at a specified time or when memory reception is turned off (this function is set to OFF). A password can be set to specify the starting time or ending time of memory reception, or to cancel the function. The set starting time and ending time are valid every day until memory reception is turned off. For details on specifying settings, refer to Setting Up the Memory RX Mode on page 27. Settings 1-16 (Default : Depends on the sales region) Enter the number of rings (between 1 and 16) until the machine automatically begins receiving the fax when an external telephone is connected. Settings ON / OFF / CUT Select whether documents longer than the current paper size are printed reduced, split, or discarded. ON: The document is printed at a reduced size. OFF: The document is printed at full size and split onto multiple pages. CUT: The document is printed, but any part that does not fit within the page is erased. For details on the relationship between the length of the received document and the document that is actually printed, refer to Printing Received Faxes on page 47. Settings MEMORY RX / PRINT RX Select whether the fax is printed only after all document pages have been received or printing begins as soon as the first page of the document is received. MEMORY RX: Printing begins after all pages have been received. PRINT RX: Printing begins after the first page has been received.
Memory Reception
In cases when confidential faxes are being received, the received document can be stored in memory and printed at a specified time or when memory reception is turned off. Memory reception can be used with the following settings. Start/end time settings: Not set MEMORY RX MODE is normally set to ON. To print a fax saved in memory, set MEMORY RX MODE to OFF. Start/end time settings: Set Memory reception mode begins and ends at the specified time. Example 1: When ON TIME is set to 18:00 and OFF TIME is set to 8:00 The machine is in memory reception mode from 18:00 to 8:00 and in normal reception mode, where faxes are printed after being received, from 8:00 to 18:00. Example 2: When ON TIME is set to 12:00 and OFF TIME is set to 12:00 (the start time and end time are the same) MEMORY RX MODE is normally set to ON; however, faxes saved in memory are printed at 12:00.
Setting Up the Memory RX Mode
With the Fax mode screen displayed, press the Menu Select key to enter Menu mode. Press the + or , key to display the RX SETTING screen, and then press the Menu Select key. Check that the MEMORY RX MODE screen appears, and then press the Menu Select key. Using the * and ) keys, select ON, and then press the Menu Select key. The ON TIME screen appears. Specify the time when memory reception mode begins, and then press the Menu Select key. The OFF TIME screen appears. To specify no start time, press the Menu Select key without specifying a time.The PASSWORD screen appears. Skip to step 7.
Specify the time when memory reception mode ends, and then press the Menu Select key. The PASSWORD screen appears. Enter the password, and then press the Menu/Select key. Memory reception mode is set. The password is required for turning off memory reception mode or changing the start/end times. Enter a 4-digit number. To specify no password, press the Menu Select key without specifying a password.
Turning Off the Memory RX Mode
With the Fax mode screen displayed, press the Menu Select key to enter Menu mode. Press the + or , key to display the RX SETTING screen, and then press the Menu Select key. Check that the MEMORY RX MODE screen appears, and then press the Menu Select key. Using the * and ) keys, select OFF, and then press the Menu Select key. The PASSWORD screen appears.
If no password was specified, memory reception mode is canceled. Enter the password, and then press the Menu/Select key. Memory reception mode is canceled. If faxes are saved in memory, printing of the faxes begins.
Timer transmission can be combined with broadcast transmission. Position the document to be faxed. If necessary, change the Resolution setting. The document image quality can be adjusted by pressing the Resolution key. For details, refer to Improving Resolution on page 34. Press the Function key, then the , key. Check that the TIMER TX screen appears, and then press the Menu Select key. Using the keypad, enter the desired transmission time, and then press the Menu Select key. The time is set in the 24-hour format. If you want to correct the time, press the Cancel/C key, and then enter the correct time. Specify the fax number of the recipient. Refer to Specifying a Recipient on page 34. To send a fax to multiple recipients using broadcast transmission, press the Function key, and then display the BROADCAST screen. After all recipients have been entered, press the Start key to begin scanning, and then the machine enters transmission standby mode. For details on broadcast transmissions, refer to Sending a Fax to Multiple Recipients (Broadcast Transmission) on page 38. Press the Start key to begin scanning, and then the machine enters transmission standby mode. If you want to cancel a timer transmission, select CANCEL RESERV. from the FUNCTION menu. For details, refer to Canceling (Deleting) a Document Queued in Memory for Transmission on page 42.
Sending a Fax Manually
Sending a Fax Manually After Using the Telephone
If the machine is connected to a telephone and the same line is used for both phoning and faxing, the document can simply be sent after talking with the recipient over the phone. This is useful, for example, if you want to tell the recipient that you are sending a fax. Load the document into the ADF. If necessary, change the Resolution setting. The document image quality can be adjusted by pressing the Resolution key. For details, refer to Improving Resolution on page 34. Pick up the handset and check that the dial tone can be heard. Specify the fax number of the recipient by using the telephone to dial the fax number. The fax number of the recipient can also specified using the keypad in the control panel of this machine. After finishing talking on the phone, the recipient should press the necessary key to start receiving the fax. Once the recipients fax machine is ready, a beep is sounded. Press the Start key to begin scanning and sending the fax. Replace the handset to its cradle. To stop the transmission, press the Stop/Reset key. A message appears, requesting confirmation to cancel the setting. Select Yes, and then press the Menu Select key.

Load the document into the ADF. If necessary, change the Resolution setting. The document image quality can be adjusted by pressing the Resolution key. For details, refer to Improving Resolution on page 34. Press the On hook key.
Specify the fax number of the recipient. If Pulse is selected as the telephone line type, press the porarily change the line type to Tone. Press the Start key to begin scanning and sending the fax. Canceling (Deleting) a Document Queued in Memory for Transmission 1 2
Of the documents stored in memory and waiting to be sent, a specific document can be selected and deleted. Press the Function key, then the , key twice. Check that the CANCEL RESERV. screen appears, and then press the Menu Select key. The details (specified transmission time and type of transmission) of the jobs queued in memory are displayed. If no jobs have been queued in memory, the message "NONE" appears. Using the + and , keys, select the job to be deleted. The following types of job are displayed.
MEMORY: Normal transmission queued in memory (fax) B-CAST: Broadcast transmission (fax) TIMER: Timer transmission (fax) SCAN: Scan to email transmission
To check the recipient of the currently displayed transmission job, press the ) key. After checking, press the Menu Select key to return to the previous screen. Press the Menu Select key to delete the displayed job. To delete another queued job, repeat steps 2 and 4.

If transmission source information is set in Header setting to be printed, information such as the senders name, fax number, transmission date/time, session number and page number can be printed by the recipient. The following items in the header.

Registering Recipients
About the FAX REGISTRATION Function
Frequently used fax numbers can be registered with the FAX REGISTRATION function so that the fax number can be easily accessed. In addition, this reduces input errors. The following registration methods are available: One-touch dial: Register fax numbers with one-touch dial keys. Press a one-touch dial key to recall them. For details on specifying settings, refer to One-Touch Dialing on page 56. Speed dial: Register fax numbers with speed dial numbers, and then press a keypad to recall them. For details on specifying settings, refer to Speed Dialing on page 59. Group dial: Multiple recipients can be grouped and registered with a one-touch dial key. Press the one-touch dial key to recall the group. For details on specifying settings, refer to Group Dialing on page 61. If a recipient is registered with a one-touch dial key or a speed dial number, the recipient can be searched for by using the phone book functions. For details on using the phone book functions, refer to Using the List Function of the Phone Book on page 36 and Using the Search Function of the Phone Book on page 37.
One-Touch Dialing
Programming a One-Touch Dial Key
Register frequently used fax numbers with one-touch dial keys (maximum 9). When sending a fax, press a one-touch dial key to recall them. To register multiple recipients with a one-touch dial key, program it as a group dial. For details on programming group dialing, refer to Group Dialing on page 61. Press the Menu Select key, then the , key three times. Check that the FAX REGISTRATION screen appears, and then press the Menu Select key. Check that the ONE-TOUCH DIAL screen appears, and then press the Menu Select key.
Press the one-touch dial key that you want to program. If the one-touch dial key that is pressed is already registered with a recipient, the message REGISTERED! appears. Press the Menu Select key, and then press a one-touch dial key with no recipient registered. Enter the name of the one-touch dial to be programmed, and then press the Menu Select key. Text up to 20 characters long can be entered for the name. For details on entering/editing text and the characters that can be entered, refer to Entering Text on page 79. To cancel programming, press the Cancel/C key. (To cancel programming while the name is being entered, press the Menu Select key, and then press the Cancel/C key.) Using the keypad, enter the fax number of the recipient, and then press the Menu Select key. The fax number can contain a maximum of 50 characters. For details on entering/editing numbers, refer to Entering Text on page 79. To cancel programming, press the Cancel/C key. (To cancel programming while the number is being entered, press the Menu Select key, and then press the Cancel/C key.) Select the modem speed, and then press the Menu/Select key. The entered information is programmed with the one-touch dial key, and the message SELECT REGIST.KEY appears.
If a transmission error occurs, select 14.4 or 9.6 for the modem speed. To program another one-touch dial key, press the one-touch dial key, and then repeat the procedure starting from step 5. To finish the procedure and return to the Fax mode screen, continue pressing the Cancel/C key until the Fax mode screen is displayed.
Changing/Deleting One-Touch Dial Information
The registered one-touch dial information can be corrected. Press the Menu Select key, then the , key three times. Check that the FAX REGISTRATION screen appears, and then press the Menu Select key. Check that the ONE-TOUCH DIAL screen appears, and then press the Menu Select key. Press the one-touch dial key that you want to change or delete. Press the Cancel/C key. If a one-touch dial key programmed with a group of fax numbers is pressed, the message GROUP appears in the upper-right corner of the screen. To delete the group, press the Cancel/C Key. To change group dialing, refer to Changing/Deleting Group Dialing Information on page 62. Using the * and ) keys, select either EDIT or DELETE, and then press the Menu Select key. If EDIT was selected, the name is displayed. Continue with step 7. If DELETE was selected, the settings programmed for the one-touch dial key are deleted and the message SELECT REGIST.KEY appears again. Skip to step 9. When a one-touch dial number is deleted, it is also deleted from the group dialing that it is used in. Change the name, fax number, modem speed as desired. For details on changing the name, refer to Entering Text on page 79. If you try to change the settings for a one-touch dial number used in group dialing, a confirmation message appears, asking whether or not to keep the changed one-touch dial number in the group dialing. If the Menu Select key is pressed, the corresponding one-touch dial number programmed in group dialing is kept. If the Cancel/C key is pressed, the corresponding one-touch dial number programmed in group dialing is deleted. When you are finished making changes, press the Menu Select key. The message SELECT REGIST. KEY appears.
To change or to delete other one-touch dial information, press the one-touch dial key, and then repeat the procedure starting from step 5. OR To finish the procedure and return to the Fax mode screen, continue pressing the Cancel/C key until the Fax mode screen is displayed.
Speed Dialing
Programming a Speed Dial Number
Register frequently used fax numbers with speed dial numbers (maximum 100). Enter the speed dial number when sending a fax to recall the fax number. Press the Menu Select key, then the , key three times. Check that the FAX REGISTRATION screen appears, then press the Menu Select key, and then press , key. Check that the SPEED DIAL screen appears, and then press the Menu Select key. Using the keypad, enter the 3-digit speed dial number (ex. 011) that you want to program. If the speed dial number that is entered is already registered with a recipient, the message REGISTERED! appears. Press the Menu Select key, and then press a speed dial number with no recipient registered. If you enter 2-digit speed dial number, make sure to enter [0] at first. For example when speed dial number is [11], enter [011]. Enter the name of the speed dial to be programmed, and then press the Menu Select key. Text up to 20 characters long can be entered for the name. For details on entering/editing text and the characters that can be entered, refer to Entering Text on page 79. To cancel programming, press the Cancel/C key. (To cancel programming while the name is being entered, press the Menu Select key, and then press the Cancel/C key.)

Problems When Receiving Faxes
If the fax cannot be received correctly, refer to the following table, and then perform the indicated operation. If the fax still cannot be received correctly, even after performing the described operations, contact your technical representative. The procedure for entering text is described below, using NJ Office as an example. Press the key to change the input mode so that letters can be entered. Press the 6 key twice. N is entered. Press the 5 key once. J is entered. Press the 0 key once. A space is entered. Press the 6 key three times. O is entered. Press the 3 key seven times. f is entered. Press the ) key. The cursor moves to the right. Press the 3 key seven times. f is entered. Press the 4 key seven times. i is entered. Press the 2 key seven times. c is entered. Correcting Text And Input Precautions
To erase all entered text, hold down the Cancel/C key. To delete only part of the entered text, use the * and ) keys to move the cursor (_) to the character that you want to delete, and then press the Cancel/C key. If multiple characters are assigned to a single key, OK=) appears at the bottom of the screen. If the same key is to be used to enter two characters in a row, press the ) key after selecting the first character. (Refer to the above inputting example.) To enter a space, press the 0 key.
