These devices would attach to the parallel connection of the Pi3502 controller and would allow the Di200, Di251, Di351, Di200f, Di251f and Di351f models with a Pi3502 controller installed to print in a Token ring environment.

Description Why, when Pi3502 E-mail is sent though Novell* GroupWise*, does the Novell Netware* client experience hex code errors? Solution This problem can occur under the following conditions: 1. Novell Server 5.x or higher 2. Novell GroupWise 5.5 or higher 3. Novell Gateway Internet Agent (GWIA) 4. Novell GroupWise client application To send any E-mail via the Internet with the Pi3502, have the SMTP protocol service configured on the Mail Server. For details, please refer to bulletin 3583. Description Why, when attempting to scan using the PageScope Cabinet utility, does the job time out with an error? Solution Check the destination file name. For the default file, a forward slash only should be entered. For a new file, enter a forward slash and the file name only.

Solution CAUSE: Incorrect password in Pagescope Cabinet or on the machine. SOLUTION: Verify the correct passwords have been entered in the copier and in PageScope Cabinet and verify that they match.

Description Unable to scan to PageScope Cabinet. PageScope Light displays ''FTP Connection Busy." Solution CAUSE: Problem with password. If problems are encountered with PageMaker 6.5 in Win XP, it is recommended that users upgrade to PageMaker 7. Adobe has tested PageMaker 7.0 in Windows XP, as well as Windows 2000, NT with Service Pack 5 or 6, ME, and 98. Description How to completely remove a printer driver in Microsoft* Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Solution When removing a printer from the Printers folder, the printer driver file is not removed from the hard disk drive. This following describes a procedure to use if a printer driver file is corrupted: WINDOWS 2000 WARNING: If using Registry Editor incorrectly, serious problems may occur that will require reinstallation of the operating system. Microsoft/KMBS cannot guarantee that problems can be solved that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor with extreme caution. 1. Remove the printer using the Printers folder in Windows 2000. 2. In Windows 2000, in Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, double-click Services, and then stop the Spooler service. 3. Run Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe) and go to the following subkey (note that this is all one path, which has been wrapped for readability): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\ Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3\ Note: Version-3 is Windows 2000, and is the name of the printer to be removed. 4. Note the values on the right and write down the file names. 5. With the printer driver key selected, click Delete on the Edit menu. 6. Go to the following directory and delete the printer driver files noted in step 4: %SystemRoot%\System32\Spool\Drivers\

Description Printing only to the default tray from WordPerfect*. Solution CAUSE: WordPerfect offers the ability to print to the different trays of the printer and does this through page definitions. The advantages come when creating documents that will require pulling paper from different trays in the same print job. Rather than having several print jobs for the same document, all of this can be done in one print job if the page definitions are specified within the document. SOLUTION: Page definitions have to be created within the File menu, and selecting Page Setup. A page definition has to be created for each tray on the printer. The default page definition used in new documents is the letter definition. These definitions are printer-specific and should be created in the "printer page types" section. Perform the following: 1. Launch WordPerfect. 2. Go to the "File Menu" and select "Page Setup". 3. Click on the "Page Setup" tab. 4. In the "Page Definition" section choose "Printer Page Types". 5. Click on the "Add" button. 6. In the "Name" section, give this definition a name (Corel* recommends identifying the tray to print from (i.e., Tray 1). 7. In the "Type" section, select the stationery tray to print from. For example, select the "letterhead" type when printing on letterhead stationery; otherwise select "standard" paper size when there is no option. 8. In the "Size" section, select the appropriate stationery size. When selecting paper that is not the standard size, select "User Defined Size and enter the Height and Width below. 9. In the "Source"section, select the tray where the stationery is located.
10. On the right-hand side of the screen in the "Show Page Size for" section make sure that only the current printer is selected. Click OK. Note: Follow the steps outlined above for each tray. 11. To print a document from a specific tray, go to the beginning of the document and go into page setup to select the page definition, then print. Solution CAUSE: Incorrect setting in driver. SOLUTION: Always make sure that the collate check box is unchecked when the print dialog comes up after print is selected. Note: With some *Windows 2000 drivers, it is also possible to print properly by turning off the "Advanced Printing Features" option. In a Windows server environment, the Windows driver is installed on the server and can be configured prior to roll out to the clients. Resetting the jam sometimes requires repeated opening and closing of the feeder. Solution CAUSE: There is tape used to hold the wiring harness in the feeder section. The end of the tape can come loose over time, brushing against the original size detection sensor causing it to deactivate sluggishly or not at all. SOLUTION: Remove the loose end of the tape from the sensor area and re-tape the harness to protect it from wear.
