Specifications and Details: The Korg X5 Keyboard/synthesizer is powered by the same Advanced Integrated (AI) synthesis engine as the M1, 01/W, 03R/W and the X3. There are a total of 340 multi-sounds and 164 drum sounds residing within the instrument's six megabytes of ROM memory: pianos, strings, brass, winds, guitars and basses plus assorted drums and percussion--all sampled and looped. Great for solo or fill. Also in this classic synthesizer (c. 1994) are 47 different pro quality effects ranging from lush reverb to rotary speaker, and a rich assortment of 236 programs and 100 Combinations (including 128 standard General MIDI programs). Store another 100 programs and 100 combinations of your own in the X5's RAM memory. The trim Korg X5 weighs 10 pounds (lbs) -- making it a light but sturdy compact keyboard (black metal jacket): 61 full-sized velocity sensitive keys, modulation and pitch bend wheels, 32-note polyphony and full MIDI implementation, a built-in computer interface and 16-part multi-timbral capability.
