General features
Paper handling
Copy paper feeding is handled by a 250-sheet front-loading paper cassette and a 50-sheet multi-bypass, both standard. Copies are ejected onto the internal output tray. Its capacity is 100 sheets.
Copier image quality
The CD 1115 incorporats a high-quality 600-dpi engine. Its scanner resolution is 600 x 600 dpi at 256 values per dot, and the output resolution is 600 x 600 dpi with 256-tone processing through 2-value error diffusion. Even during enlarging and reducing, the 600-dpi 256-tone processing with error diffusion reduces jagged edges in text and moir patterns in halftones. Also, corrective image processing is performed in all three image modes for copying (text & photo, text, and photo). This enables the copier to adapt its developing performance to the original document type. In addition, the corrective image processing has been improved to widen the range of documents that can be handled by the text & photo mode. Thanks to the improvements made, the text & photo mode is now the default setting, as opposed to previous models where text mode was default.
Long-life components
Thanks to several technical improvements made to the developing unit, the only item that requires replacing during the service lifetime of the CD 1115 (100K) is the toner cartridge. In other words, when the copier is out of toner, the only item that needs to be replaced is its toner cartridge rather than the complete imaging unit, as with more conventional copiers. As a result, the CD 1115 does not require periodic maintenance during the imaging units lifetime. Benefits - A 100K lifetime for the developing unit is exceptionally long in this copier class. This gives the CD 1115 a strong competitive position in the segment 1A market. - Low operating costs because service calls for periodic maintenance are not necessary and because a toner cartridge costs less than an imaging unit. - A much lower impact on the environment: a single toner cartridge constitutes much less waste than an entire imaging unit. - Less down time because periodic maintenance is not required, and because replacing a toner cartridge takes less time than replacing an imaging unit.
Stylish space-saving design

General features
Paper handling
The CD 1215 is equipped with a standard single document feeder. The feeder is a sheet-through type, which means that the original is fed past the scanning unit in the feeder, rather than the scanning section moving underneath the original, as is the case with more conventional feeders. Copy paper feeding is handled by a 250-sheet front-loading paper cassette and a 50-sheet multi-bypass, both standard. By adding the optional 250- sheet ST-13 cassette, total paper capacity becomes 550 sheets. Copies are ejected onto the internal output tray. Its capacity is 100 sheets. Benefits - The type of feeder used provides improved reliability, a lower noise level as well as a higher scanning speed thanks to reduced scanner movement. - Thanks to the output tray being integrated into the machines body, the CD 1215 has an extremely short paper path. This reduces the risk of paper jams.
High-quality output
Copier image quality
The CD 1215 incorporats a high-quality 600-dpi engine. Its scanner resolution is 600 x 600 dpi at 256 values per dot, and the print output resolution is 600 x 600 dpi with 256-tone processing through 2-value error diffusion.
Print quality
When used as a printer, too, the CD 1215 provids a true 600-dpi output resolution 1*) With the smoothing feature, image quality processing increases the resolution to 200 dpi class, which is equivalent to 2,400 dpi x 600 dpi. Benefits - Because developing performance is adapted to each individual original type, even documents that contain both text and photos are reproduced perfectly in the text & photo mode. - The text & photo mode can now handle virtually all types of originals, which means that the user will not need to manually select one of the other image copying modes in order to achieve the best result.
1*) Printing System (M) needs to be installed.
