Types of Playable Discs
DVD-VIDEO: Discs such as movies that can be purchased or rented. DVD-R: Video mode and finalized only DVD-RW: Video mode and finalized only DVD+R: Video mode only Supports the double layer disc also DVD+RW: Video mode only Audio CD: In addition, this unit can play a DVDR/RW and CD-R or CD-RW that contains audio titles, MP3, WMA, JPEG files. Depending on the conditions of the recording equipment or the CD-R/RW (or DVDR/RW) disc itself, some CD-R/RW (or DVDR/RW) discs may not be played on the unit due to the recording quality or physical condition of the disc, or the characteristics of the recording device and authoring software. The disc will not play if it has not been correctly finalized. Player does not support these kinds of discs.

Regional code
This unit has a regional code printed on the rear of the unit. This unit can play only DVD discs labeled same as the rear of the unit or ALL. Most DVD discs have a globe with one or more numbers in it clearly visible on the cover. This number must match your units regional code or the disc cannot play. If you try to play a DVD with a different regional code from your player, the message Check Regional Code appears on the TV screen.

Power Save Mode You can set up the unit into an economic power save mode. In power-on status, press and hold 1 (STANDBY/ON) button for about 3 seconds. - Nothing is displayed in the display window when the unit is turned off. To cancel, press 1 (STANDBY/ON) , CLOCK, TIMER.
Precautions in using the touch buttons Use the touch buttons with clean and dry hands. - In a humid environment, wipe out any moisture on the touch buttons before using. Do not press the touch buttons hard to make it work. - If you apply too much strength, it can damage the sensor of the touch buttons. Touch the button that you want to work in order to operate the function correctly. Be careful not to have any conductive material such as metallic object on the touch buttons. It can cause malfunctions.

Setting up
Attaching the speakers to the unit
Connect the wires to the unit.
Match each wires coloured band to the same coloured connection terminal on the reverse of the unit. To connect the cable to the unit, press each plastic finger pad to open the connection terminal. Insert the wire and release the finger pad

TV Aspect Select which screen aspect to use based on the shape of your TV screen. [4:3]: Select when a standard 4:3 TV is connected. [16:9]: Select when a 16:9 wide TV is connected. Display Mode If you selected 4:3, youll need to define how you would like widescreen programs and films to be displayed on your TV screen. [Letterbox]: This displays a widescreen picture with black bands at the top and bottom of the screen. [Panscan]: This fills the entire 4:3 screen, cropping the picture as necessary.

Semi Karaoke (Optional) - When a chapter/ title / track is fully finished, this function shows the score in the screen with a fanfare sound. Semi Karaoke on : Turn the Semi Karaoke function on. When you finished singing a score will appear on the screen. Semi Karaoke off : Turn the Semi Karaoke function off. Fanfare and score do not appears on the screen Available discs for the Semi Karaoke function: - DVD, DVD Karaoke discs with more than 2 tracks - This function operate on the DVD/CD mode. - The Semi Karaoke function is available only when a microphone is connected. - When you watching movies, off the Semi Karaoke at the SETUP menu or enjoy it without connecting the MIC if the fanfare or score appears during changing a chapter. Bit Rate - Select Bit Rate signal speed 96kbps or 128kbps (Rec. Bit rate)
Adjust the audio settings
DRC (Dynamic Range Control) Make the sound clear when the volume is turned down (Dolby Digital only). Set to [On] for this effect. Vocal Select [On] to mix karaoke channels into normal stereo. This function is effective for multi-channel karaoke DVDs only.
Adjust the lock settings
To access the lock options, you must enter the 4-digit password. If you have not yet entered a password you are prompted to do so. Enter a 4-digit password. Enter it again to verify. If you make a mistake while entering number, press CLEAR to delete numbers then correct it. If you forget your password you can reset it. Press SETUP and Input 210499 The password has now been cleared. Rating Select a rating level. The lower the level, the stricter the rating. Select [UNLOCK] to deactivate the rating. Password Sets or changes the password for lock settings. [New]: Enter a new 4-digits password using the numerical buttons then press SELECT/ENTER. Enter the password again to confirm. [Change]: Enter the new password twice after entering the current password. Area code Select a code for a geographic area as the playback rating level. This determines which areas standards are used to rate DVDs controlled by the parental lock. See the Area Codes on page 20.

Use your player as an alarm clock
Press and hold TIMER for two seconds. Each function, TUNER, DVD/CD, USB flashes for two seconds. Press SET when the function you want to be woken by is showing. When you select the TUNER function, select the previously memorized preset number by tapping./ > on the front panel and press SET. If you choose DVD/CD or USB you will be shown below. You will be shown the ON TIME display. This is where you set the time you want the alarm to go off. Use. or >to change the hours and minutes and SET to save. You will then be shown the OFF TIME display. This is where you set the time you want the function to stop. Use. or > to change the hours and minutes and press SET to save. Next you will be shown the volume (VOL) you want to be woken by. Use. or > to change the volume and SET to save. Switch the system off. The clock icon shows that the alarm is set. When the system is turned off you can check the time the alarm is set for by pressing TIMER. You can also turn the alarm on and off by pressing TIMER. To set the alarm to go off at a different time, switch the system on and reprogramme following the same steps as initially.
When not using the microphone, set the MIC VOL. volume button to minimum or turn off the MICs and remove the microphone from the MIC Jacks. If the microphone is set too near the speaker, a howling sound may be produced. In this case, move the microphone away from the speaker or decrease the sound level by using the MIC VOL. volume button. If sound through the microphone is extremely loud, it may be distorted. In this case, press the MIC VOL. volume button toward minimum.
When you connect a headphone to set with one of the EQ modes chosen, the EQ button does not work. When you connect a headphone with 'regional EQ' chosen, the mode changes into 'NORMAL'. It returns to regional EQ when you disconnect the headphone.

Press SCAN (m or M) to play fast forward or fast reverse during playback. You can change the various playback speed by pressing SCAN (m or M) repeatedly. Press PLAY ( N) to continue play at normal speed.

Playing a DVD that has a menu
Watch and listen 1.5 times faster
Most DVD now have menus which load first before the film begins to play. You can navigate these menus using vV b B to highlight an option. Press SELECT/ENTER to select.
Press PLAY when a disc is already playing to watch and listen to a DVD 1.5 times faster than normal playback speed. B x1.5 will appear on the screen. Press PLAY again to return to normal playback speed.
Slow down the playing speed
Skip to the next/previous chapter/track
Press SKIP (>) to move to the next chapter/track. Press SKIP (.) to return to the beginning of the current chapter/track. Press SKIP (.) twice briefly to step back to the previous chapter/track.
While playback is paused, press SCAN (M) to slow down forward playback. You can change the various playback speed by pressing SCAN (M) repeatedly. Press PLAY ( N) to continue play at normal speed. DVD disc can operate Slow down Forward/ Reverse playback only.

Changing the character set to display DivX subtitle correctly
If the subtitle does not display properly,press and hold S-TITLE button about 3seconds to display the language code menu and then,press S-TITLE button repeatly to change the language code until the subtitle is displayed properly. DivX disc compatibility with this player is limited as follows: Available resolution size of the DivX file is under 800x600 (W x H) pixel. The file name of the DivX subtitle is available by 45 characters. If there is impossible code to express in the DivX file, it may be displayed as " _ " mark on the display. If the number of the screen frame is over 30 per 1 second, this unit may not operate normally. If the video and audio structure of recorded files are not interleaved, either video or audio is outputted. This unit memorizes last scene from the last disc that is viewed. The last scene remains in memory even if you remove the disc from the player or switch off the unit. If you load a disc that has the scene memorized, the scene is automatically recalled.
Screen Saver
The screen saver appears when you leave the unit in Stop mode for about five minutes.
System Select
You must select the appropriate system mode for your TV system. Remove any disc that might be in the unit, press and hold PAUSE/STEP (X) for more than five seconds to be able to select a system (PAL, NTSC, AUTO).
Mixed disc or USB Flash Drive DivX, MP3/WMA and JPEG
When playing a disc or USB Flash Drive contained with DivX, MP3/WMA and JPEG files together, you can select which menu of files you would like to play by pressing TITLE.

Creating your own program You can play the contents of a disc in the order you want by arranging the order of the musics on the disc. The program is cleared when the disc is removed. Select a desired music then press PROG./MEMO. or select and then press SELECT/ENTER to add the music to the program list. To add all music in the disc, select and then press SELECT/ENTER. Select a music from the program list then press SELECT/ENTER to start programmed playback.To clear a music from the program list, select the music you want to clear then press CLEAR or select icon and then press SELECT/ENTER. To clear all music from the program list, select " " then press SELECT/ENTER.
Viewing photo files

Displaying file information (ID3 TAG )
While playing a MP3 file containing file information, you can display the information by pressing DISPLAY repeatedly. MP3 / WMA disc compatibility with this player is limited as follows: Sampling frequency: within 32 - 48 kHz (MP3), within 24 - 48kHz (WMA) Bit rate: within 32 - 320kbps (MP3), 40 - 192kbps (WMA) The unit cannot read an MP3/WMA file that has a file extension other than.mp3 /.wma. CD-R physical format should be ISO 9660 If you record MP3 / WMA files using software that cannot create a file system (eg. Direct-CD) it is impossible to playback MP3 / WMA files.We recommend that you use Easy-CD Creator, which creates an ISO 9660 file system. File names should have a maximum of 8 letters and must incorporate an.mp3 or.wma extension. They should not contain special letters such as / ? * : < > l etc. The total number of files on the disc should be less than 999. This unit requires discs and recordings to meet certain technical standards in order to achieve optimal playback quality. Pre-recorded DVDs are automatically set to these standards. There are many different types of recordable disc formats (including CD-R containing MP3 or WMA files) and these require certain pre-existing conditions (see above) to ensure compatible playback. Customers should note that permission is required in order to download MP3 / WMA files and music from the Internet. Our company has no right to grant such permission. Permission should always be sought from the copyright owner.
The FM tuner is supplied with the Radio Data System (RDS) facility. This shows the letters RDS on the display, plus information about the radio station being listened to. Press RDS on the remote control several times to view the information. PTY - Programme Type, such as News, Sport, Jazz. RT - Radio Text, the name of the radio station. CT - Time Control, the time at the location of the radio station. PS - Programme Service name, the name of channel. You can search the radio stations by programme type by pressing RDS. The display will show the last PTY in use. Press PTY one or more times to select your preferred programme type. Press and hold. or >. The tuner will search automatically. When a station is found the search will stop

Listening to music from your portable player
Connecting your portable USB player
The advantage of connecting your portable USB player through the systems USB port is that the portable device can be controlled from the system. Connect the portable player to the system using a USB cable (not supplied).
The player can be used to play the music from many types of portable player. ON PLAYER 1. Connect the portable player by plugging the unit into PORT. IN on the side of the player: 2. Devices which require additional program installation when you have connected it to a computer, are not supported. MP3 Player : Flash type MP3 player. The MP3 player requiring installation of a driver is not supported. USB Flash Drive : Devices that support USB2.0 or USB1.1.
USB device requirement
Do not extract the USB device in operating. A back up demands to prevent a data damage. If you use a USB extension cable or USB hub, the USB device might not be recognized. A device using NTFS file system is not supported. (Only FAT (16/32) file system is supported.) The USB function of this unit does not support all USB devices. Digital camera and mobile phone are not supported. This unit is not supported when the total number of files is 1000 or more. If the drive of USB device is two or more, a drive folder is displayed on the screen. If you want to move to the previous menu after you select a folder, press RETURN.

Troubleshooting
