Add 4G functionality to your HSS Emulator by purchasing additional interfaces. S6support for 3G/4G mobility and evolution testing S13EIR Emulation Extend the 3G functionality of your HLR Emulator by purchasing additional interfaces. GfEIR Emulation GcGPRS services for GGSNs
Multiple Gr Load Generators with the appearances of SGSNs test the capacity and performance of an HSS/HLR
Multiple HLR Emulators run simultaneously, each with an independent subscriber database
Multiple SGSN emulators can be instantiated on a single server, each with scalable subscriber loads and transaction rates. In this mode the Gr interfaces of up to 1000 independent SGSN nodes may be simultaneously running and mobility may be emulated. The nodes are fully independent and their subscriber configurations may also be independent, may overlap, or may be duplicated.
Supporting Standards
The dsTest 1.2 Gr application complies with the following standards: MAP - 3GPP TS 29.002 TCAP - ITU-T Q.773 SCCP - ITU-T Q.711-714 M3UA - RFC 4666 SCTP - RFC 2960 (RFC 3309 checksum)
Multiple HLR and HSS Emulators can be instantiated on a single server. In this mode each emulator can support multiple interfaces, up to an aggregate of 1000 client connections across all emulators. The emulators are fully independent and their subscriber databases may also be independent, may overlap, or may be duplicated.
Gr Load Generator
The Gr Load Generator emulates an SGSN's Gr interface to test an HSSs or an HLRs capacity and performance and to determine the impact of new features and standards before they are de-
About dsTest
Designed explicitly to facilitate the cost-effective testing of high performance protocols and applications, dsTest is focused on 3G and 4G core network service interfaces to support your network evolution testing. A suite of common components expedites the development cycle, allowing us to provide testing capabilities in a timeframe that can assist both vendors and carriers during the development and deployment of the evolved packet core network. dsTest provides a base from which new protocols and applications can be quickly developed to support new standards or custom protocols and applications. Expanded memory capacity results in a nearly linear expansion of subscriber capacity Up to 20,000 transactions/second per active core (an application layer request/response exchange is considered a transaction) Performance can be impacted by: the number of messages required for each call the amount of subscriber data required for each message the number of features enabled the cache structure/size the memory bus and I/O throughput the number of CPU cores and CPU clock speed Capacity is largely based on the amount of available memory and can also be impacted by the configuration.
Features
Network interface applications (client load generators or service node emulators) are individually licensed, allowing you to purchase only the interface functionality that your test plans require. Applications focus on true emulation rather than scripted commands and responses. Service node emulators implement interaction between active interfaces where applicable when more than one interface is licensed. Surround your support node with service node emulators or surround your service nodes with client load generators. Measure call performance and capacity Verify new mobility features and standards before deployment Identify performance ceilings and bottlenecks Validate system scalability with easily scalable subscriber loads Plan capacity Interactive control and monitoring for real-time test configuration, event triggering, and modification Unattended test modes for users creating realworld scenarios with heavy load and longduration stability tests
Architecture
dsTest is designed to run on a wide variety of computer platforms, allowing you to invest in the hardware that best suits your needs. The highlythreaded software architecture is designed to efficiently utilize multi-core and 64-bit CPUs.
Software-based solution can be installed on rack-mounted servers or portable computers Remote monitoring and control via command line interface Configure test scenarios with XML files that are validated against a published XML Schema to avoid invalid definitions Published server control interface (XML/TCP) to allow development of automated control
Capacity and Performance
In an optimal configuration, dsTest supports the following maximums on the reference platform: Up to 50,000,000 subscribers depending on memory capacity and emulator configuration
Applications dsTest
