How it works

LG Network Monitor operates by using software that enables users to virtually share a single host PC. Once this software is installed on a PC, multiple users can share a single PC, with each user running any application that they desire by using LG Network Monitors, keyboards and mice as if they were using separate PCs. All computing tasks are done on the shared PC, while the monitors, keyboards and mice of the users communicate with the shared PC via connection device. Today, even entry-level PCs feature 2GHz dual-core processors and high-performance RAM. It is extremely wasteful for users to use these computing powerhouses for simple work or educational tasks, such as word processing, surfing the Internet and sending or receiving e-mails. However, LG Network Monitor lets multiple users share the computing strength of a single PC. The virtual desktop software of LG Network Monitor divides computer resources into independent sessions, so that all users can simultaneously use a single PC. Users can individually enjoy a high-quality PC experience, while the PC transmits divided desktop screens to each user like a data administrator, and handles the separate keyboard and mouse of each user at the same time. As the standard format for digital TV broadcasting is switching to MPEG4 specifications, the monitor contains an MPEG 4 based tuner so that high-resolution HDTV pictures can be reproduced in the monitor without the need for a separate receiver.

SRS WOW is the 3D sound technology developed by "SRS", an audio solution provider. It supports deep and rich bass volume, and surround sound effects using two speakers. As the most advanced among SRS technologies, SRS Trusurround HD features strengthened volume IQ, surround, TruBass, and focus. The sounds seem to come directly from the screen, instead of the speaker. Dolby Digital is based on the surround sound method that uses multiple separated channels. It separates the sound information to 6 channels (5.1 channel) to support clear and live sound quality.

Auto Bright

Auto Bright function implements optimized brightness to reduce eye strain. The brightness sensor at the front side of the monitor measures the intensity of illumination around the monitor, analyzes the brightness of the data source, and finally sends the signal to the monitor backlight. Cinema Mode provides an environment that prevents sight distractions to help users focus on the picture. The parts of screen that are excluded in the user's mouse drag are darkened. Live Sensor activates function keys at the front side of the monitor when the user's fingers approach so that users can operate the keys conveniently in a dark place. Also, users can concentrate on the picture, as the keys remain unlit at ordinary times. The Time Control function prevents eye strain that can result from long work hours and enables users to work more efficiently. The monitor power button light signals user to take regular breaks while working with the PC.

Fun Key includes Photo Effect, 4:3 in Wide, EZ-zooming, and Sound. It enables users to enjoy a convenient and pleasant display environment with the touch of a single button.
Photo Effect enables users to apply various effects on photossuch as black and white and sepia-by just pushing a button and without affecting the original. The function includes a built-in color calibration function. 4:3 in Wide function converts 4:3 ratio contents so that it is displayed on widescreen without any picture distortion. Users can convert the aspect ratio of any content by simply pressing a button. Using the EZ-zooming function, users can zoom in on icons and characters like a magnifying glass, by adjusting the screen resolution. This function is especially useful for the elderly and those with weak vision. Sound offers a charming "tinkle-tinkle" sound whenever the power button is pressed for a more pleasant display environment.
The FLATRON f Engine is a picture quality improvement chip that is unique to LG Flatron monitors. It provides clear, afterimage-free, and optimal picture quality for different types of contents such as games, movies, and pictures.

Energy Saving is LG's proprietary eco-friendly technology that saves power consumption by up to 50%. Energy is saved by reducing the number of lamps while maintaining appropriate brightness with the enhancement of prism sheet energy efficiency. The Aspect Ratio Control function is used to adjust the screen ratio according to the data type. For instance, when you are playing 4:3 contents on a 16:9 screen, the function adjusts the data to prevent picture distortion and letterbox.
