What a year! Last December we were all enjoying the fruits of a booming economy and three months later it all turned to custard. Construction, building, suppliers and retail all started hurting. we just hope youre not suffering too much. Makita has not been immune to the state of the economy although I would have to say that the value of having a trusted and well-known brand becomes even more apparent at times like this. I think we all just have to look forward to the positive impact of the infrastructural and related works the government has proposed to bring forward. This December is an especially poignant time for me as this will be my last month at Makita. As many of you may know, I have worked virtually all my life for Makita and I take a lot of pride in the fact the brand has grown from strength to strength under my guardianship. However it is now time to venture off on a new path, and I would just like to thank everyone for your continued support of the Makita brand and our regular promotions and competitions. Merry Christmas to you and your families and tight lines.

MAKITA NAILS IT!

Makitas extensive range of blue trade tools now numbers over 250, including LXT 25 tools, Weekender at 20 and OPE at 46. But there has always been one tool missing from the line-up. Until now.
of 30 minutes recharging time for its Li-ion 7.2 volt battery, which as the power source of the ignition spark, gas mixing, air intake and exhaust and supply of cooling air is a critical factor of operation. Adjustment of the driving depth is easy with the hex wrench which stores on the grip. Another great feature of Makitas GN900 Nail Gun is its LED lamp - warning the operator when battery charging is getting low, and warning if any trouble is detected.

Announcing the new Makita GN900 Gas Nailer
The Makita GN900 cordless clipped head framing nailer marks the arrival of a major new alternative in frame nailing. Guy Williams comments, Makita wanted to ensure that when they produced a cordless nail gun it would compare very favourably with others on the market. We have invested considerable R&D money and time to deliver a high quality, high specced, trade professional nailer that stands up to the closest scrutiny. He adds, Makita New Zealand is very excited about this new addition to the range. We have never offered a nail gun before but see significant opportunity for a quality nailer that bears the Makita name and values.
Advanced operational design features
The ergonomically designed handle fits more comfortably into the palm, the soft anti-slip rubberised grip gives greater control, increased comfort and minimal hand fatigue, along with the contoured thumb protection. Anti-slip sure grip tip clawing on the contact arm top prevent sliding of the nail head whilst protective bumpers on each side of the tool stop the machine from slipping on inclined surfaces such as rooftops, at the same time protecting the work and the tool. The battery inlet has been engineered to include a shock absorbing bar which protects the terminal end of the battery and prevents any battery movement in operation. Finally, the GN900 includes an easy to use dual position hook with one-handed adjustment for hanging from rafters, steel pipes and more.

First, it has been developed for a wide range of nailing applications, with driving capacities of 50-90 mm length clipped head nails, 2.9-3.3mm shank diameter and a nail collation angle of 34.
