Box 769 McIntosh, FL 32664 (352) 591-9797 McIntosh Area School Board Meeting at the Civic Center 7:00PM January 6, 2009 Meeting was call to order by Chip Bazemore, President. Pledge of Allegiance Roll call: Rochelle Victor, June Glass, Erny Sellers, Chip Bazemore, Aleida Levine, Adam Whitehead, James Strange 1. Adam Motion to accept Minutes of last meeting with correction to include a letter by James Strange. Second by June Glass. Motion passed 2. Finance Report: June Glass motion to table the finance report to review the State cuts before deciding on the school cuts. Chip Bazemore motion to do a workshop to review all possible cuts. Report tabled. 3. Principal Report: Dr. Victor indicated the wonderful month of December with the Santa Shop and how the children were receptive. An upcoming website will be up and running by the end of January. A new computer will need to be purchase for the front office and the old computer cannibalized for its parts. The children are being tutored for the FCAT test by the teachers after school for one hour several times a week. New Business: 1. Good News Bible Club: The School Board voted (Jim Strange motioned, Erny Sellers seconded) to permit the club to rent donated space at the school with a limit of 30, in the afternoon, contingent upon the policy committees adoption of the specified language pertaining to the issue. 2. Land Approval: No report. Old Business: 1. Chip Bazemore said that the concrete circle drive will be finished very soon. 2. Security System: Tabled for the next school board meeting. System is now in at the school awaiting for installation. 3. Policy Meeting: January 20, 2009 @7:00PM at the Civic Center. Pubic Views and Comments: 1. Sound System: A new microphone is needed. Mary Ann Kelly will purchase the microphone for around $100.00. The Friends of McIntosh will donate the funds. 2. Mary Ann Kelly and Beth Nelson would like better communication about the events during the school year. 3. Lee Deaderick: Concern about ordinance in regards to the access road SW of the school. Hell donate his time to research this concern. Chip Bazemore motioned to adjourn, June Glass seconded and the motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 8:00PM
