Dear McIntosh Authorized Dealer, McIntosh is pleased to announce two new products. One that looks familiar, one thats all new The MC275 Series IV The MC275 has returned, better than ever. It looks similar to previous versions, but there are important differences. These changes improve power output, performance consistency, installation flexibility, and manufacturing efficiency. Voltages have increased; even sub-optimal tubes yield power beyond the specified 75 watts per channel. Point-to-point wiring has been minimized; almost the entire internal volume is now taken up by a glass epoxy circuit board. Minimizing pointto-point wiring means variations are almost non-existent; previously, slight variations in the position of wires to critical components had an effect on performance. Examine the inside of the latest versionit looks like electronic artwork. A rear panel IEC style plug-in power cord makes installing easier and gives the customer the opportunity to change the cord, if desired. Balanced inputs are included, bypassing the first input tube, a phase splitter. Input sensitivity is variable in the unbalanced inputs. With a bandwidth of 10Hz-70,000Hz, high resolution sources can be utilized fully. Output taps are provided for 4, 8, and 16ohms. Parallelmono, selectable on the front apron, yields double power (150 watts mono), into 2, 4 or 8 ohmsperfect for low impedance exotic speakers. We have recently expanded the factory to make room for two new parts insertion machines. Yes, our products are still hand made. We still fabricate our chassis from stainless steel sheets, wind our own output transformers, hand-assemble, and test every unit. Only in insertion of small parts into holes in the circuit boards is now done by machine, prior to soldering, trimming, and testing. Our new machine even checks the value of each part before inserting it. It is amazing to see it in action. And boy, does it save time! Assembly time is cut in half, leading to the best news of all. The MC275 IV will carry a retail price of $3500.00 which includes a complete premium tube set. (Please take note of dealer cost on the new price sheet). The MC275, arguably the most revered amplifier ever made, is back. Shipping next month with this pricing, we feel that this will be a pivotal piece for McIntosh and our dealers. The MA2275 Tube Integrated Amplifier A combination of the new MC275 and a new preamp, the MA2275 is like a Rolls Royce for half price. Input selection is done directly at the input jacks, by switches that are sealed in glass cylinders, filled with inert gas. Noise is so low as to be almost non-existent. Huge gold-plated all-metal outputs are provided for 8, 4, and 2 ohm speakers, so exotic, low impedance speakers will be fully nourished with low distortion power. Bandwidth is wide, and distortion is low across the entire spectrum. Power is delivered through the McIntosh Unity Coupled circuit, All amplification is accomplished with vacuum tubes, including phono, with one solid state op-amp that buffers to reduce the noise floor to amazing levels.
