Meade #773 Hard Carry Case
For use with Meade ETX-60AT and ETX-70AT Telescopes
The Meade #773 Hard Carry Case provides a secure environment for your ETX-60AT or ETX70AT Astro Telescope during storage or transport. Fig. 1 shows a suggested layout for the telescope and accessories within the pre-cut foam interior. NOTE: Not all accessories shown in the diagram are included as standard items with the ETX-60AT or ETX-70AT. Meade ETX-60AT and ETX-70AT telescopes are precision optical instruments. Hard shocks may damage or misalign the optics. Take care when transporting the telescope in the #773 Hard Carry Case since this case provides minimal protection against shock damage. When travelling on a commercial airline, keep the hard carry case as "carry on" luggage. Do not check as separate baggage. When placing the telescope in the carry case, follow this procedure:
Remove all eyepieces and other accessories from the telescope and store them in the appropriate sections within the case. Attach the dustcover to the telescope. Unlock the horizontal and vertical locks. NOTE: If the optional #827 Right-Angle Viewfinder is attached to the ETX-60AT or ETX-70AT telescope, perform the following procedure: After placing the telescope in the carry case, rotate the viewfinder eyepiece 90 counterclockwise so that it lies flat against the telescope's optical tube. This prevents excessive pressure on the viewfinder bracket when the carry case lid is closed. NOTE: See the instruction sheet that is included with the #670 Dew Shield for instructions on how to attach the dew shield to the ETX-60AT or ETX-70AT for storage.
