| This thing is a mixed bag. Many good points, not quite as many bad points. Sometimes this thing is dead on the money. Too often tho. I purchased this unit and attempted to update the software.I have a very slow internet connection where I live. | |

| Had been looking at this model for the last year or so. Seeing as how Garmin and other manufacturers are removing options such as MP3. Upgraded the firmware right out of the box. I bought this because of all the features, especially the 3.5mm output jack. | |

DG 4080 Steam oven
Stainless steel with stainless steel handle Aluminium with aluminium handle Full-width tinted glazing 30 litre stainless steel oven interior with 4 cooking levels External steam generator
There are 2 standard cooking programmes. The Universal with pressure programme is designed for robust foods that can withstand temperatures of between 101C and 120C and pressure. The Universal without pressure with a lower temperature range from 50C to 100C is not pressurised making it suitable for a much wider range of food. The DG 4064 L also offers a reheating programme with a pre-set temperature of 95C which is perfect for gently reheating food to eating temperature. The defrosting programme with a pre-set temperature of 60C can be reduced down to 50C to help you defrost food when you need it. A timer can be used to programme in a cooking duration of between 1 minute and 2 hours 59 minutes. The oven will switch itself off automatically when the food is ready.
The oven cavity is hermetically sealed and has a system lock to prevent the door being opened by accident. At the end of cooking the steam is automatically reduced and condensate, steam and vapours are drained off automatically.
DG 4064 L Steam oven with pressure

If you wish to install a DG 4064 L steam oven in a 45 cm high niche you will need to order an AB 45 filler panel for a co-ordinated look.
Lift-up door with black full-width tinted glazing and stainless steel handle Stainless steel front and door, left-hand hinged Pull-out shelf 7.8 litre usable capacity stainless steel oven interior, with 3 cooking levels External steam generator
Universal without pressure, 50C and 100C Universal with pressure 101C to 120C Reheating, defrosting with pre-set temperatures
2 displays with electronic controls for cooking functions, temperature selection, programme lock, descaling programme and programmable settings (buzzer volume and duration, locking function on/off, temperature changes in 1/5C increments), timer
Electronic clock with time of day display, programme duration from 1 min to 2 h 59 min
System lock, in-operation lock, active vapour discharge, overheating protection, pressure release and safety valve, cool front Water inlet safety connection
Self-cleaning function Removable side runners Descaling programme with reminder
Stop and Go function With the Stop and Go function the power level of all zones in use is automatically reduced to the lowest setting. This allows you to leave the kitchen for brief periods, e.g to answer the door.
Extended cooking zones Some hobs offer zones which extend up to 29 cm in length, to accommodate oval casserole dishes and fish kettles.
Vario cooking zones Pans of different sizes can be used on the same zone.
HiLight elements Due to the extremely short heat-up time of the HiLight elements, cooking times are considerably reduced. At the same time, heat is evenly distributed.
Sensor controls Individual functions and heat levels are easily selected by simply touching the sensor controls. Residual heat indicators There is an indicator for each cooking zone to show whether it is still hot or not.
Timer The timer can be used to select a time from 199 minutes for one or more cooking zones (depending on model). The zone switches off automatically at the end of the time, making cooking easy and safe. The timer can also be used as a minute-minder.
Peace of mind If something spills over onto the control panel, or you place something like a tea towel over the controls, the hob will switch itself off automatically, to prevent it accidentally burning on or igniting.
Programmable functions A number of standard settings on all of these hobs can also be modified to meet individual requirements. These include timer and power range settings, audible tones and how the safety lock is operated.
System/Safety lock Touching the key or lock symbol when the hob is in use acts as a safety lock, preventing any unwanted changes to settings. It can also be activated as a system lock when the hob is not in use to prevent children from operating it. Safety switch off As an extra safety precaution the hob has pre-programmed maximum operating times which depend on the power level being used. The hob will switch itself off automatically if this duration is exceeded when a pan is in place and the power setting has not been altered.
Memory programme The Memory function on the KM 5670 and KM 5673 can be used for storing up to 5 of your favourite cooking processes to ensure the same great results time after time. N.B.: Features will vary depending on model.
Controls
Rotary controls The KM 520 entry-level ceramic hob offers very simple to operate onset rotary controls with settings from 112 and a 0 setting for switching the zone off. There is a residual heat indicator for each zone. This hob also offers overheating protection whereby a temperature limiter automatically switches off the heating elements to prevent overheating.
EasyControls The KM 500 and KM 507 ceramic hobs offer EasyControl sensors, positioned centrally at the front of the hob for easy operation. These hobs have an on/off sensor switch for the entire hob. Power settings from 0 for off and 19 are selected for each cooking zone using the /+ sensors and the setting selected is shown in the digital display. Each time a sensor is pressed, a tone sounds (this can be deactivated if wished). These hobs also feature Auto heat-up for rapidly bringing food to temperature.

Cold pre-wash Useful for rinsing off food residues while waiting for a full load to collect. This prevents food from drying on and causing a build-up of unpleasant smells.
N.B. Programmes will vary depending on model
Sensor wash gentle A special sensor controlled programme with particular emphasis on glass care. Glasses and temperature sensitive china are washed perfectly and gently. Even stubborn lipstick stains are removed.
Glasses quick/Glasses warm These programmes are ideal for glasses. Because they do not use rinse aid, there is no residue left on the glasses to spoil your enjoyment.
Tall items 45C/65C These programmes are suitable for washing tall or oversized items in the lower basket.
Hygiene This programme holds temperatures of up to 70C for longer periods to remove bacteria from baby bottles, chopping boards, utensils etc. Statement from the WfK Institute for Applied Research: The Hygiene programme on the Miele test machine G 1530 SCi is to be recommended for the hygienic cleaning of items where a high level of hygiene is required, as well as for eliminating bacteria
Universal 55C Ideal for everyday mixed loads. Particularly suitable for modern, environmentally friendly, chlorine free detergents. Universal plus 55C/65C This programme is similar to the Universal 55C programme, but includes a pre-wash, a longer wash time and a choice of temperatures, making it suitable for heavily soiled items.
Top solo Rather than waiting days for a full load or running your dishwasher half full, some models offer the option of washing lightly soiled items in the top basket only. Water is diverted to the middle and upper spray arms to wash quickly, thoroughly and above all, economically. Top solo can be used in conjunction with all the standard programmes.
Plastics The optimum programme for dishwasher proof plastic items, including toys and food containers.
Pasta Do you love pasta and paella? If so, then youll love the pasta programme which removes all traces of dried-on remains and tomato sauce.
Gentle 45C This is an extra gentle programme for washing temperature-sensitive china and glassware. 133

* Storage times are guidelines only and depend on the quality and freshness of the food. N.B. Some fruit and vegetables give off gases which cause them to deteriorate rapidly. These include bananas, avocado pears, pineapple, mangos, olives, papaya, passionfruit and citrus fruit as well as aubergines, cucumbers, green beans, potatoes, melons, peppers, tomatoes and courgettes.
Frost-free
No more defrosting! Frost-free is a perfect system for optimum convenience and removes the tedious task of emptying and repacking the freezer. It results in zero build-up of frost on both food and the evaporator, saving time and electricity. How it works In appliances which feature the frost-free system, cool air is circulated by a fan, enabling the food to freeze more quickly and thoroughly. Moisture in the air condenses and freezes on the evaporator, where it melts automatically and drains through a channel into a condensate tray. The heat from the compressor then causes the water to evaporate. Enclosed evaporator Selected frost-free models also feature an enclosed evaporator. The evaporator, instead of being located at the back of the appliance fits into the front casing. The cabinet interior is surrounded on all sides by concealed aluminium evaporator tubing, which leaves the surface smooth on all sides and exceptionally easy to clean. The positioning of the evaporator offers more flexible storage options, as the glass shelves can be removed easily allowing the drawers to accommodate much larger items.
Interior design Easy cleaning and adjustability are key factors to be considered when purchasing a new refrigeration appliance. All Miele appliances feature glass shelves manufactured from safety glass which has the additional benefit of helping maintain the interior temperature. The shelves can hold up to 25 kg and all are easily removed for cleaning purposes. A selected number of shelves in all Miele appliances are adjustable, which enable you to make best use of the space available. The majority of models also feature split shelves for added convenience.

Adjustable upper basket Models with the cutlery tray also offer the benefit of a height adjustable upper basket with a hinged cup rack. Simply grasp the handles on either side, and the basket can be raised or lowered or even set on a slant to suit the height of the dishes you want to load.
Two in one: the divided cutlery tray The original just got better! Some dishwashers feature the divided cutlery tray. Each part of the cutlery tray (which is divided 1/3 and 2/3) is individually removable. So when you need to, you can remove a section and place long stemmed glasses in the upper basket, leaning them safely against the glass supports on the left hand side. Then the rest of the cutlery tray can be filled as normal.

Miele dishwashers offer a range of different control options so you can find the one to suit your lifestyle and design requirements. They all feature Novotronic controls, which were developed and made in our own factories. Because they are fully electronic, there is less wear and tear to the control system. They also offer a wide range of intelligent programmes including special
programmes with user friendly names to make the chore of choosing the right programme a thing of the past. The appliances also use intelligent technology to adapt to circumstances and make the most economical use of electricity, water and salt.
This dishwasher offers a simple, easy to use, rotary programme selector together with pushbutton controls for On/Off and Start. It also has programme sequence
indicator lights to let you know how the programme is progressing and check lights to remind you when to replenish the salt and rinse aid.
With the new dishwashers, the controls and display elements are positioned in the centre of the fascia panel for easy and logical programme selection.
The controls on some models are set at an ergonomic angle making them extremely easy to read and use from a standing position.
These dishwashers offer a range of control types from simple selector button controls to models with selector buttons and a time left display. Going up the range, greater functionality is introduced, including a delay start function and a combi tab button to optimise the programme to the type of detergent being used.
Topping the range is a model with the large Plus Navitronic display and user friendly touch sensor controls. The display is in clear text and intuitively guides you through the programme selection process. The controls are easy to operate at a mere touch and being flush, are easy to keep clean.
Wider ranging programme choice is also introduced including special programmes, many of which are named to suit the type of load they are designed for such as plastics and pasta.
Programme parameters can be tailored to include features such as a pre-wash or a soak, and you can even programme the display to list your favourites first. These models also introduce an Info button which will give you tips and guidance on which programme to use.
With the fully integrated models, the controls are discreetly concealed from view when you don't need to see them. The entry level model offers simple push button controls and check lights to remind you when to replenish the salt and rinse aid.
Going up the range, a time left display is introduced together with a delay start option and a combi tab button to optimise the programme to the type of detergent being used.
The flagship model in the range offers a large clear text display and scroll buttons for programme selection as well as an Info button which will give you tips and guidance on which programme to use.
Programmes to suit every need
Energy save This programme is suitable for everyday loads of lightly or normally soiled dishes, and is designed for connection to a hot water supply. Because the machine does not heat the water itself, the energy consumption is reduced.
Quick wash 40C This programme is perfect for lightly soiled dishes, for instance during a party when the dishes need to be used again. With very short running times, theyll be back on the table in just 30 minutes.
Light soiling 50C This programme has a short wash time for lightly to normally soiled crockery and is gentle on glassware too.
Normal 55C This programme is suitable for everyday loads of lightly or normally soiled dishes.
Sensor wash 55-65C This programme uses Eco Sensor technology to monitor the turbidity of the water in the cabinet, and uses this information to adjust the amount of water used and the temperature required, and in doing so optimises programme running times and energy usage.
Sensor wash This programme uses Auto Sensor technology to monitor the turbidity of the water and detect particles. The temperature, water intake, programme duration and electricity consumption are all automatically adjusted to suit the level of soiling.
Pots & Pans 75C This programme includes a pre-wash followed by a main wash at 75C and is suitable for pots, pans and crockery with dried-on on soiling.
Intensive 65C This programme is suitable for heavily soiled crockery, and uses a pre-rinse to loosen dried-on starchy residues before running both the main wash and rinses at 65C.
Tall items 65C These programmes are suitable for washing tall or oversized items in the lower basket.
Plastics The optimum programme for dishwasher proof plastic items, including toys and food containers.
Pasta Do you love pasta and paella? If so, then youll love the pasta programme which removes all traces of dried-on remains and tomato sauce. 137

Which dishwasher will fit in my kitchen?
a Check which range of dishwasher is going to fit, by measuring the niche height. (Height from the floor to the underside of the worktop) b Check that the height from the floor to the bottom of furniture door is compatible with the niche height. c The plinth will need to be cut if the furniture door extends below the top of it.

Super Cool & Super Freeze The Super Cool and Super Freeze functions will, at the touch of a button, rapidly reduce the interior temperature to the coldest level to ensure that the temperature of fresh produce is reduced as quickly as possible. This setting should be selected a few hours before restocking the appliance with new groceries. By freezing food as quickly as possible, the consistency and texture of the food is maintained when defrosted. These functions will automatically switch off after a number of hours if not deactivated manually. 164
Alarm Acoustic and visual alarms are incorporated within the electronics. A warning tone sounds and the display will flash if the door is left open for longer than approximately 60 seconds, or if there has been a power cut, causing the internal temperature to rise above the desired level.
Safety lock Some appliances are fitted with a safety lock. When activated settings cannot be altered giving you the reassurance that your food will be stored at the correct temperature.
Features will vary depending on model. For details please refer to the individual specifications.
Dynamic Cooling
Dynamic Cooling Due to the natural circulation of the air in the appliance, there are different temperature zones in the refrigerator. Cold, heavy air sinks to the lowest section of the appliance and warmer air will rise nearer the top. This has a bearing on where to place food to obtain the optimum results. The Miele Dynamic Cooling system overcomes natural temperature imbalances by circulating cold air around the appliance. This constant flow of air enables the temperature inside the appliance to be maintained at the same level throughout. This allows you to fully utilise all of the internal space and store food anywhere in the fridge. An additional benefit of Dynamic Cooling is that food and drinks will be chilled up to 50% more quickly than in a conventional refrigerator without this feature.
PerfectFresh
The PerfectFresh zone has a dry and a humidity controlled compartment and is particularly suitable for long term storage of fresh food. Because the temperature is electronically maintained at just above freezing point, fruit, vegetables, fish, meat and poultry can be stored for twice as long as in the refrigerator and still maintain their freshness. Tests have shown that vitamin C levels in food stored in the PerfectFresh zone hardly change over a period of time, so its health benefits are great too. The dry compartment is excellent for storing meat, fish, poultry and dairy products.
