Caring for the environment
Disposal of packing material
The transport and protective packing has been selected from materials which are environmentally friendly for disposal and can normally be recycled. Ensure that any plastic, wrappings, bags etc. are disposed of safely and kept out of the reach of babies and young children. Danger of suffocation. Rather than just throwing these materials away, please recycle them.
Disposal of your old appliance
Electrical and electronic appliances often contain materials which, if handled or disposed of incorrectly, could be potentially hazardous to human health and to the environment. They are, however, essential for the correct functioning of your appliance. Please do not therefore dispose of it with your household waste.
Disposing of the dustbag and filters
These are made from environmentally friendly materials, and can be disposed of with the normal household waste, as long as they have been used exclusively for general household dust.
Please dispose of it at your local community waste collection / recycling centre or ask your Dealer for advice. Ensure that it presents no danger to children while being stored for disposal.

Preparing for use

Attaching the suction hose
^ Insert the hose connector into the suction socket until it clicks into position.
To remove the suction hose from the cleaner
^ Press the release buttons at the side of the hose connector and lift the hose from the socket.
Connecting the suction hose and the suction tube
^ Fit the hand piece of the suction hose into the suction tube and turn clockwise or anti-clockwise until they lock together with a click. ^ To release the hand piece from the suction tube press the locking button (see arrow) and pull the hand piece away from the suction tube.
Connecting the suction tube sections
(depending on model) Both sections of the suction tube have locating arrows marked on them. When connecting the two sections, ensure that the two arrows point towards each other.
Adjusting the telescopic suction tube
(depending on model) One part of the telescopic tube is packed inside the other and can be adjusted to suit your height for comfortable vacuum cleaning. ^ Press the telescopic tube release button (see arrow) to release the tubes and adjust to the required height.

Attaching the floorhead

^ Push the suction tube into the floorhead and turn it clockwise or anti-clockwise until it clicks into position. ^ To release the floorhead from the suction tube, press the locking button (see arrow) and pull the suction tube away from the floorhead. The floorhead can be used for all normal cleaning of carpets and rugs. It can also be used with the brush protruding to vacuum hard flooring. For hard flooring, such as stone and parquet, we recommend using one of the special Miele floor brushes (see "Optional accessories"). It is also important to observe the flooring manufacturer's cleaning and care instructions. Vacuum carpets and rugs with the brush retracted: ^ Press the foot control. Clean hard flooring which is not susceptible to scratching with the brush protruding: ^ Press the foot control.

Electrobrush / Turbobrush
Some models may be supplied as standard with an Electrobrush or a Turbobrush in addition to the normal floorhead (see "Optional accessories"). Please refer to the separate operating instructions supplied with these brushes for instructions on use and maintenance.

Accessories supplied

Other tools, in addition to the floorhead(s), are supplied with the vacuum cleaner to help deal with various types of cleaning. - Crevice nozzle - Dusting brush - Upholstery nozzle These tools are stored in the special compartment in the vacuum cleaner and can be put back after use.
To open the accessories compartment
^ Press the release button and the lid will open.
^ Take out the accessory you require. ^ Press down firmly on the lid to close it.

Using the accessories

The different tools can either be fitted to the hand-piece or, as required, to the suction tube.

Floorhead

For general use and also for cleaning stairs. For safety reasons when vacuuming stairs it is best to start at the bottom of the stairs and move upwards.

Crevice nozzle

(depending on model) For cleaning in folds, crevices or corners.

Dusting brush

For cleaning skirting boards, ornate or carved articles, etc. The head of the dusting brush can be swivelled to attain the best cleaning position.

Upholstery nozzle

For cleaning upholstery, mattresses, cushions, curtains, covers etc.

Operation

Unwinding and rewinding the mains cable
Unwinding ^ Hold the plug and unwind cable to the required length (max. approx. 5.5 metres). Warning: If vacuuming for longer than 30 minutes, the mains cable must be pulled out to its fullest extent. Otherwise there is a danger of overheating and damage. Rewinding ^ Switch off at the wall socket and remove the plug. ^ Press the rewind switch. The cable will rewind automatically.

Switching on and off

^ Press the On-Off switch.

Vacuuming

^ When vacuuming pull the cleaner behind you on its wheels. You can stand it upright for vacuuming stairs and curtains etc. Warning: When vacuuming especially fine dust, e.g. sawdust, sand, plaster, flour, talcum powder etc., electrostatic charges build up naturally. Under certain conditions these charges will be released. To avoid the unpleasant effects of these discharges, a metal inlay has been incorporated into the underside of the handle. Please make sure that you keep your hand in constant contact with this metal strip during vacuuming.

Regulating the suction

(for models with a rotary suction power selector) The suction power can be regulated to suit the type of flooring. The higher the setting the more powerful the suction. Reducing the suction power reduces the amount of effort required to manoeuvre the floorhead. The controls also have symbols. The symbols indicate the type of use the settings are suitable for. a - curtains, lightweight fabrics b - upholstery, cushions c - thick pile carpets, rugs and runners d - for energy-saving daily use e - lightly soiled rugs and fitted carpets f - heavily soiled hard flooring, and for intensive cleaning of carpets ^ Turn the rotary selector manually to the suction power setting you require.
Opening the air inlet valve
Opening the air inlet valve reduces the suction power quickly for brief periods, e.g. to prevent damage to the fringes of a rug when moving from cleaning a carpeted floor to a rug, or to prevent something being vacuumed up by mistake. ^ Open the air inlet valve far enough to reduce the suction power. The floorhead will be easier to manoeuvre. Close the valve when you are ready to use full power again.

Park system

A Park system has been designed for conveniently parking the vacuum cleaner during pauses. ^ Fit the floorhead into the parking attachment at the back the vacuum cleaner.
Transportation and storage
^ Stand the vacuum cleaner upright when it is not being used and during storage. ^ Fit the floorhead into the parking attachment on the side of the vacuum cleaner. This makes the cleaner easier to carry or store.

Dustbag change indicator

Change the dustbag when the colour marker in the dustbag change indicator fills the display. Dustbags are designed for single use only. Do not attempt to re-use them as suction would be reduced. Checking the dustbag change indicator ^ Attach the standard floorhead to the suction tube. Do not use any of the other floorheads or attachments as they will cause the dustbag change indicator to give a false reading. ^ Switch the vacuum cleaner on and turn the rotary selector (if applicable) to the highest power setting. ^ Lift the floorhead off the floor a little. If the red marker completely fills the dustbag change indicator you should replace the dustbag with a new one. How the dustbag change indicator works The indicator is designed to measure the air permeability of a dustbag containing common household dust. Normal household dust would contain a mixture of dust, hair, carpet fluff, threads, grit etc. However, if the vacuum cleaner has been used to suck up fine dust, such as plaster, brick dust, cement or flour, the pores of the dustbag become blocked very quickly. This affects the air permeability of the bag and the marker will indicate that the bag is "full" even when it is not. If this happens you must still change the dustbag because suction power will be greatly reduced by blocked pores in the dustbag. If, on the other hand, you have vacuumed up a lot of hair and carpet fluff which typically contains a lot of air the indicator may fail to react even though the bag is full. You should still change it! Both these extremes can occur.

Maintenance and care

Warning: Always disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the electrical supply for maintenance work and for cleaning. Switch off at the wall socket and remove the plug. If using the ACCU NOVA floorhead, switch this off as well. The Miele filter system consists of three filters which must be replaced from time to time to ensure that your cleaner performs efficiently. Dustbag Exhaust filter Dust compartment filter (for motor protection) Warning: To ensure that your vacuum cleaner functions correctly, cleans hygienically and gives you many years of trouble-free operation please only use genuine Miele approved dustbags and filters. The use of non-Miele approved dustbags and accessories could invalidate your warranty and cause damage to your product.
When to change the dustbag and filters
Dustbag Change the dustbag when the colour marker in the dustbag change indicator fills the display. Exhaust filter Depending on model your vacuum cleaner will be fitted as standard with one of the following exhaust filters: 1. SUPER air clean filter 2. ACTIVE air clean filter or 3. ACTIVE HEPA filter The type of filter in your vacuum cleaner is marked on the filter itself. SUPER air clean filter Replace the SUPER air clean filter every time you start a new packet of Miele dustbags. A SUPER air clean filter is supplied with every packet of Miele dustbags.
ACTIVE air clean filter If your vacuum cleaner is fitted with an ACTIVE air clean filter and you wish to go on using this type of filter make sure that you purchase a replacement in good time. The ACTIVE air clean filter is a special active charcoal filter which contains charcoal to absorb odours from the dust collected in the dustbag. It helps to prevent a build-up of odours. Do not use aroma capsules in your cleaner if you use this filter. The charcoal in the filter will absorb their aroma rendering them ineffective. There is no difference in filtration levels between the ACTIVE air clean filter and the SUPER air clean filter. ACTIVE HEPA filter If your vacuum cleaner is fitted with an ACTIVE HEPA filter and you wish to go on using this type of filter make sure that you purchase a replacement in good time. The ACTIVE HEPA filter is a special combi filter which contains active charcoal to absorb odours from the dust collected in the dustbag. It helps to prevent a build-up of odours. It is also a particle filter conforming to EN 1822 HEPA Classification 12 and is able to filter out very fine particles and micro-organisms. Vacuum cleaners equipped with this exhaust filter are particularly suitable for allergy sufferers and those concerned with a high level of hygiene. Do not use aroma capsules in your cleaner if you use this filter. The charcoal in the filter will absorb their aroma rendering them ineffective.
The ACTIVE air clean and ACTIVE HEPA filters should be replaced at least once a year, and more often if obviously soiled or no longer effective. We suggest that you mark the date you start using it on the label. If you do not have one of these filters available you can use the SUPER air clean filter supplied with every packet of Miele dustbags instead. To use the SUPER air clean filter you will have to fit a filter frame* in place of the ACTIVE air clean or ACTIVE HEPA filter and fit the SUPER air clean filter underneath the filter frame. * Filter frame - see "Optional accessories"

Dust compartment filter (for motor protection) Replace the dust compartment filter every time you start a new packet of Miele dustbags. A dust compartment filter is supplied with every packet of Miele dustbags.
Ordering the correct dustbags and filters
When ordering dustbags for this vacuum cleaner ask for bags with the code F/J/M.
Purchasing new dustbags and filters
Replacement dustags and filters can be obtained from your local Miele retailer, the Miele Spare Parts Department (see back cover for contact details) or via the internet on www.miele-shop.com.
A "SUPER air clean exhaust" filter and a dust compartment filter are supplied with every packet of Miele dustbags. If you wish to purchase exhaust filters or dust compartment filters separately, please quote the model number of your appliance when ordering to ensure you get the correct items. You can replace the exhaust filter supplied with the vacuum cleaner with one of the other Miele exhaust filters if you wish (see "Optional accessories"). N.B. If an ACTIVE air clean filter or an ACTIVE HEPA filter is used instead of the SUPER air clean filter, you will need to remove the filter frame from the cleaner.
To replace the dustbag and filters
Open the dust compartment lid ^ Press the release button for the dust compartment lid and raise the lid as far as it will go.
To replace the dustbag ^ To remove the dustbag hold the bag by the collar and pull it out of its holder. The dustbag has a closing flap which closes automatically when the dustbag is removed to prevent any dust escaping. It can then be disposed of with the normal household waste as long as it has only been used for vacuuming up normal household dust. Do not unfold the new bag when you take it out of the packet. This way it will not get trapped when you shut the dust compartment lid again. ^ To insert a new dustbag, push the collar securely into the frame as far as it will go. Otherwise you will not be able to shut the lid. ^ Close the dust compartment lid firmly.
Do not use more than one exhaust filter at a time. Replacing the SUPER air clean filter ^ Open the dust compartment lid. ^ Unclip the filter frame and raise it upwards. ^ Take hold of the used SUPER air clean filter by the clean, unsoiled section (see arrow) and take it out. ^ Replace it with a new SUPER air clean filter. It can be inserted either way up. ^ Lower and secure the filter frame back into position. Replacing the ACTIVE air clean filter ^ Open the dust compartment lid. ^ Unclip the used ACTIVE air clean filter and take it out. ^ Place the new filter into position and press it in so that it engages at the back and then close the catch.

Replacing the ACTIVE HEPA filter ^ Open the dust compartment lid. ^ Unclip the used ACTIVE HEPA filter and take it out. ^ Place the new filter into position and press it in so that it engages at the back and then close the catch.
Dust compartment filter (for motor protection) ^ Open the dust compartment lid. ^ Unclip the filter frame, remove the old filter and replace with a new one. ^ Close the filter frame.
Changing the thread lifters
The thread lifters on the suction inlet to the floorhead and upholstery nozzle can be replaced. Check them from time to time and replace them if the pile has worn down. ^ Use a knife or similar object to remove them from the slots. ^ Fit the new thread lifters.
If thread or hair has wound around the bearing on the floorhead roller a Release the bearing (with bayonet fitting) using a coin. b Press the bearing out, and remove. c Take out the roller. Remove any threads and hair, replace the roller and refit the bearing. Replacement parts are available from your Miele dealer or from the Miele Spare Parts Department (see back cover for contact details).

Cleaning and care

Dust compartment Warning: Always disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the electrical supply for maintenance work and for cleaning. Switch off at the wall socket and remove the plug (pull on the plug, not the cable). If using the ACCU NOVA floorhead, switch this off as well. Vacuum cleaner and accessories External surfaces of the vacuum cleaner and of the accessories can be cleaned with a dry cloth or a slightly damp cloth or with a proprietary cleaner suitable for plastic. E-Cloth A microfibre "E-Cloth" is available from Miele which is suitable for cleaning surfaces such as stainless steel, glass, plastic and chrome without the use of chemicals. It can be washed 300 times. Warning: Do not use abrasive cleaners, glass cleaners or all-purpose cleaners. Because of their chemical composition they could cause serious damage to plastic components. The dust compartment can, if necessary, be cleaned using a dry duster, brush or, if available, a second vacuum cleaner to vacuum the dust out. Warning: Do not let the vacuum cleaner get wet. If moisture gets into the appliance there is a risk of electric shock.

Problem solving guide / After sales service
The vacuum cleaner has switched itself off automatically A temperature limiter switches the vacuum cleaner off automatically if it gets too hot. Some models also have an overheating warning light , which comes on to let you know that your cleaner has overheated. Overheating can occur if, for instance, large articles block the suction tube or the dustbag is full or contains particles of fine dust. A heavily soiled exhaust or dust compartment filter can also be the cause of overheating. Switch off the vacuum cleaner using the On-Off switch. After removing the cause, wait for a period of approx. 20 - 30 minutes, to allow the vacuum cleaner to cool down. It can then be switched on again. After sales service In the event of a fault that you cannot easily remedy, please contact your Miele Dealer or the Miele Customer Contact Centre (see back cover for address). Please note that telephone calls may be monitored and recorded to improve our service.

Vacuum Cleaning 2008 Edition 2
Welcome to Miele Immer Besser Forever Better
When the Miele company was first started back in 1899, the founders, believing that success was only achievable in the long term by being totally convinced of the quality of ones product, elected to produce machines that were both durable and long lasting. Their motto Immer Besser which translates as Forever Better represents this philosophy. It remains our company motto to this day and permeates through every aspect of our business, from the drawing board down to the very last nut and bolt in a machine. And it is thanks to this philosophy that the Miele brand is now identified with unsurpassed product quality, worldwide.
The long life of Miele appliances is legendary and so too is our commitment to making sure that we take care of our environment. Our Research and Development teams are continually striving to improve the performance of our appliances at the same time as conserving resources and economising on the raw materials used. We are the first appliance manufacturer worldwide to receive the Environment Standard DIN EN ISO 14001 certification for all our factories. Miele publishes a sustainability report every two years. It provides in-depth information on Mieles corporate philosophy, management system functions and many environmentally relevant product details as well as Mieles social responsibility.
To download this report and for information on other environmental issues, go to www.miele.co.uk and select Environmental from the About Miele section. To help meet demand there are 39 proprietary international sales companies in the most important markets around the globe, together with a sales subsidiary in Germany making Miele the largest privately held appliance manufacturer in the world. As our policy is one of continuous improvement, new features, accessories and colours may be introduced to models during the lifetime of this brochure. Your Miele Dealer will be pleased to advise on any later developments.
More than 80 years of Miele cleaners

Quality with tradition

The ancestor of the modern vacuum cleaner, the dust removal pump was a cumbersome noisy appliance. With the appearance of the Melior, Mieles first vacuum cleaner in 1927, housework became less of a chore. In the following years vacuum cleaners became increasingly mobile and closer in design to the cleaners you will find in this brochure today. Following the company motto of Immer Besser, Miele have continued to develop and improve their appliances, with all major parts being developed in Mieles own factories. Miele vacuum cleaners are designed and tested for a life of 1,000 working hours, which with an average of 50 hours vacuuming a year will give you excellent service for up to 20 years!
Vacuum cleaners also need to be efficient, and over the last 80 years many different methods of dust pick up and retention have been tested in Mieles test laboratories. In all tests Mieles system, using a dustbag, has proven the most effective, hygienic method of removing dust from the home. Add to this a choice of floorheads and on-board tools, as well as variable suction levels to tackle every task from carpets and hard floors to delicate curtains and dusty shelves, and you have a range of cleaners that are extremely efficient and versatile.

Power where it counts

Miele vacuum cleaners All Miele vacuum cleaners have very powerful motors, ranging from 1800 W to 2200 W depending on model, but this by itself does not guarantee top performance. What is important is that the power is used effectively throughout the system from the floorhead and the hose right through the filters and the dustbag to give maximum suction. And to do this, all parts of the vacuum cleaner must work together to c reate an optimum flow of air. Mieles cleaners regularly excel in independent tests for their cleaning efficiency and overall performance, so when choosing your next vacuum cleaner remember that higher wattage does not necessarily guarantee more power where you need it!
Mieles cylinder cleaners Miele offer a wide range of cylinder cleaners to suit different types of flooring and carpeted surfaces. With a variety of floorheads you can be certain your flooring gets the treatment it deserves! There is a smooth running floorhead for all types of flooring. It has a hidden, but vital ventilation system that ensures optimum performance whatever type of flooring it is vacuuming. For cutpile carpets there are Turbobrushes and Electrobrushes with a rotating roller brush to get deep into the pile of the carpet for a really thorough clean. For hard flooring and wooden floors Miele offer special floorheads with soft bristles to gently remove surface dust. In addition to a choice of floorheads, all Miele cylinder cleaners have a selection of onboard tools for vacuuming different surfaces from upholstery to curtains, for dusting shelves and skirting boards, and for getting into awkward nooks and crannies.

Mieles upright cleaners For those who prefer an upright cleaner to a cylinder, Miele are proud to introduce the S7 range. With a double swivel joint and castor front wheels they are easy to manoeuvre over all types of flooring from parquet to carpets and rugs. They can even lie flat-to-the-floor to get underneath low furniture. A carry handle on the back of the cleaner is set at an ergonomic height for easy carrying. As you would expect from Miele, these cleaners come with three on-board a ccessories, a telescopic tube and a lexible hose enabling you to clean f everything from the floor to the ceiling, safely.

Hygienic cleaning

The new HyClean dustbag The special fleece of the new HyClean dustbag absorbs millions of the finest dirt particles and locks them securely into the fibres. The pores in the surface of the dustbag remain open the longest. The high dust absorption of a Miele vacuum cleaner is therefore prolonged even as the dustbag fills up.
Miele Active HEPA filter The Active HEPA filter is designed to help create a comfortable environment for allergy sufferers and retains 99.995% of particles (according to IEC 60312). It also incorporates a layer of active charcoal to remove unpleasant smells.
All vacuum cleaners produce exhaust air, which passes through a filter before it leaves the cleaner. If the filter is inefficient the expelled air can redistribute particles back into the room! Because Miele cleaners have excellent filtration throughout the system from the HyClean dustbag to the motor and exhaust filters they can pick up particles as small as dust mite faeces and tobacco smoke so the air that leaves the cleaner is cleaner than the air in the room to start with! Thanks to the filter bag system and an airtight body, Miele vacuum cleaners were the first to comply, as a complete system, with the requirements of the new European standard for air hygiene when fitted with an Active HEPA filter. They have been awarded seals of approval by theDMT, an independent institute in Germany, in ecognition of the fact that they can r reduce an individuals exposure to airborne particles such as house dust mite and cat allergens. Indeed, all our cleaners perform to the same high standards when used with the Active HEPA filter.
In response to the growing need for appliances that can help alleviate the problems suffered by allergy sufferers, Miele are proud to offer two Allervac vacuum cleaners. These cleaners come with an Active HEPA filter and a mattress nozzle as standard. And to complement the Allervac vacuum cleaners Miele are also pleased to offer an Allerwash washing machine and an Allerdry tumble dryer ensuring that all your cleaning needs in the home are taken care of.

Miele mattress n ozzle This special nozzle is just the job for cleaning those inaccessible spaces between the bed frame and mattresses or between the cushions on upholstered furniture.
Miele Allergotec The traffic light indicator above the floorhead guarantees that your floor not only looks good, but is also hygienically clean.

The S4 cylinder cleaners

The power of a large cleaner with the convenience of a compact
Buying a compact cleaner often means making compromises such as accepting poorer quality, less efficient dust pick-up or inferior filtration. However, most of us do not want to cut corners when it comes to the cleanliness of our homes or the quality of the air we breathe. Our engineers were briefed to produce a cleaner of the same high quality standards that our cleaners have always been renowned for, but in a convenient and compact design, and if possible to achieve even better ergonomics than ever before. The results of all the hard work is the S4 the worlds first quality compact cleaner. Perfect as a secondary cleaner or as a main cleaner in smaller homes, the S4 cleaner has the style and design of a modern sports car with the performance to match!
External features of the Miele S4
The Miele ACCU NOVA Electrobrush The ACCU NOVA E lectrobrush for the S4 cleaners is driven by a rechargeable battery. It offers all the benefits of the electrically driven electrobrushes for ourlarger cleaners including deep down suction and powerful cleanng results. The ACCU NOVA is i particularly suitable for use on short pile, hard-wearing arpets and can be used on c all S4 odels. It is supplied with a charger m for re-powering the battery. Because it is battery operated there are no cables running from the powerbrush to the controls in the handle making it very simple to operate. And with an Auto-Stop function which stops the brush rotating should the floorhead lose contact with the floor or should you pause during cleaning it is extremely safe too, not to mention efficient in its use of battery power.
The smooth running SBD 450-3 floorhead All S4 models feature a smooth running SBD 450-3 floorhead as standard which is suitable for carpets or for hard floors with the bristles extended. A metal sole glides it carefully over the surface and wide thread lifters help pick up any awkward threads or hair from the carpet.

Radio control handle The high-end S4 is equipped with a wireless remote control system and +/switches for adjusting the power level. It also features a handy Stand-by button for pausing the cleaner during short breaks.
Accessories All S4 models come supplied with three accessories as standard: an upholstery nozzle, a crevice nozzle and a dusting brush. They can be clipped to the hose connector with the help of a holder where they are instantly accessible.
The ergonomic comfort handle The handle is designed to make cleaning easier than ever. Its manoeuvrability enables you to steer the floorhead comfortably and take the pressure off your wrist.

Additional features

Ergonomic vacuuming height Vacuuming with your clean r e set to the wrong height forces you to bend over and can really make your back ache. The telescopic suction tube on a Miele can be adjusted for a comfort ble working a height so you avoid straining yourself. Some models offer a triscopic suction tube for an even greater range of heights. Far-reaching o perating radius The S4 is equipped with a long cable so that you dont have to change sockets more often than necessary. With the suction tube and hose you have an operating radius of 9 metres so you get an effective range of up to 18 metres in total!
Accessories With a wide range of accessories there is a solution for all situations. These include a mattress nozzle, radiator brush, floor brushes for special flooring and much more. Please turn to the accessory section at the end of this brochure for more details.
Manoeuvrability The undercarriage has three high quality, smooth running castors, making the cleaner extremely stable and very easy to guide around obstacles and over thresholds. The cleaners can also sit upright, making them very convenient for use on stairs. And with the long suction tube and hose they are able to reach easily under beds and furniture.
The all round bumper strip The bumper strip runs right the way around the cleaner body to protect the cleaner and furniture from damage.
N.B. Features will vary depending on model
Internal features of the Miele S4
Silent insulation Thanks to an extremely quiet fan and additional integrated sound insulation, the S4 is very quiet in operation. Ask your dealer to demonstrate one for you. The new Silence setting combines the lowest noise output with the ideal power level for optimum cleaning results.
Filtration system The Miele AirClean filtration system consists of (A) the Miele HyClean dustbag, (B) the motor protection filter, and (C) the exhaust filter to ensure that the air is clean when it leaves the cleaner.
Powerful motor The powerful 2000 W motor, designed and made by Miele in Germany, gives supreme cleaning performance for the best dust e xtraction results.
Miele HyClean dustbags The 3.5 litre capacity dustbag facilitates the cleaning of large areas. Airflow guides inside the dustbag distribute the absorbed dust and dirt particles evenly throughout the bag for highly effective dust absorption. The special protector netting provides additional protection on the inside and outside of the dustbag and the hygiene shutter closes automatically when the vacuum cleaner is opened for hygienic removal and disposal of the bag.

Active Air Clean filter: effective filtration performance with an additional charcoal layer to absorb unwanted odours. Active HEPA filter: maximum air hygiene and is especially suitable for people suffering from an llergy. A layer of active charcoal also a bsorbs odours. a Practical park system To store the tube in an upright position if you want a short break during cleaning you can simply slot the floorhead into the clip at the rear of the cleaner.

Miele safety

Safe carrying and easy storage Thanks to a special bracket on the side of the cleaner for holding the suction tube and the hose you can easily carry your cleaner from one room to another. It is also useful for storing the cleaner away tidily. Change filter indicator light To ensure optimum performance of your cleaner at all times some models also feature a change filter indicator light which lets you know when the Active Air Clean or Active HEPA filter needs replacing.
Thermal cut-out A thermostat prevents Miele cleaners from overheating, which can happen for example, if something too large gets acuumed up blocking the airflow. v All cleaners will switch themselves off automatically should this happen, and some have an indicator light to alert you to the problem.
Securely connected With a special locking system between the floorhead, suction tube and hand pieces, the cleaner can be easily put together and taken apart. A locking device holds the pieces securely to ether and they can be g released by simply pressing the catch.
