Reduce the size and scope of a planned waterfront tower, designed to include an elevator to a viewing platform and a ground-floor gift shop. Dec. 11,1996: The 13Ofoom proposal, at 96 feet above Bay Street, gets a lukewarm reaction ^ from board members. Attorney -> Harold Yetlin, representing the developers, asks for a deferment. Feb. 13: The Savannah City Council approves Historic District T guidelines, which limit the height of buildings along the river to three stories above Bay Street. Jury 9: A compromise version, at 79 feet above Bay Street, is brougW back to the board, but members * want to see a site plan before they, decide.
