C440 Stereo Tuner

30 Station random presets (AM or FM) in 3 banks 8 Character preset naming capability Easy & straightforward to use 25 kHz tuning steps NAD Blend VFL display MOS-FET RF section and Front-End NAD-Link for remote control capability
Tuners tend to be swamped with buttons nowadays, obliterating ease-ofuse. With the NAD Model C 440 get the intuitive, simple operation that tuners used to offer but combined with the convenience of modern day technology. Apart from convenience, the C 440 also offers the excellent performance NAD tuners are acclaimed for. Features With 30 presets available you can store all your favorite radio stations. These presets can be any combination of AM and FM stations: 25 presets for FM and 5 for AM, or 17 for FM and 13 for AM, for instance. To avoid having to scroll through 30 presets, the un-programmed (empty) ones are skipped to give you quick access to all your favorite stations. You can store the presets in any of the three different banks, labeled A, B or C. This way you can organize the presets to suit personal preferences (for example; his or hers or program type: rock, classical music, news, etc.). When attempting to listen to weak stations, sometimes the background noise can become annoying and spoil the listener's enjoyment of the program. The BLEND function reduces this noise while still retaining adequate stereo separation. Instead of littering the front panel with buttons and features that are hardly ever used, the NAD Model C 440 concentrates on convenience in daily operation. The C 440 will allow you to individually name each preset with up to 8 characters. Once you have named your presets you don't need to remember which frequency goes with what radio station, the name is indicated in the display every time the preset is recalled. All the preset information is stored in the C 440's non-volatile memory, which means it will remember all of its preset information even if the unit has been unplugged for a prolonged amount of time. Thanks to NAD-Link the Model C 440 can be remote controlled by one of NAD's universal remote controls which come supplied with other NAD equipment which sports NAD-Link. Apart from ease-of-use, the NAD Model C 440 also offers features to get the maximum out of the airwaves. Auto Search automatically stops at the next strong radio signal it comes across and optimizes tuning. Weaker radio stations can be tuned into manually. Design The MOS-FET RF section and Front End design together with high quality components and careful PCB lay-out guarantees excellent sensitivity with low intermodulation distortion to provide noise-free reception. Although AM can never reach the quality of any FM transmission, the Model C 440's AM section retains excellent clarity together with low background noise. The Model C 440 offers performance, simplicity and value that NAD is so renowned for.
