The iPad is exactly what I expected, easy to use, very well executed so long as you understand that it is mainly a device to consume media.

You can get a Nano or Touch for around a third of the price and still get Music, Podcasts, Apps, Clip, FM Radio and Camera. Overpriced content consumption table. Very responsive touch screen, high res screen Content Consumption only. Not great value for money. No camera.

IP Phones

Powerful IP Communication Tools For The Desktop And Beyond
A World of Features at Your Fingertips
The NEC UNIVERGE family of phones transports you into the world of IP Telephony while maintaining all of the features and functions you've come to expect from NEC flagship phones. Now more than ever, UNIVERGE phones are your best choice for IP communications by giving you the freedom to design platform and application solutions as your needs change and your company grows.
Dterm IP phones come with advanced call handling and convergence capabilities while INASET terminals bring telephony services and real business applications to the desktop. Dterm Series i phones, NECs basic digital phones, also have capability for IP by adding an IP adapter. NECs IP multimedia softphone, the Dterm SP30, lets you share real-time information and ideas from your PC.

Dterm IP

Dterm IP phones are equipped to deliver full-featured telephony to the desktop with a full complement of call handling and convergence capabilities. There are several distinct models to meet diverse needs. 4-Button 8-Button

Dterm IP phones support 802.3af Power Over Ethernet (POE), and with optional adapters can expand capabilities that allow additional features to be driven at the desktop. With the integration of an AD (A) adapter, you can now equip your desktop terminal for external recording capabilities. Incoming and outgoing calls can be recorded to a tape recorder that is connected to the Dterm IP terminal. Adding the PS (A) adapter to the Dterm IP phone provides survivability to the desktop. In the event of a carrier-related network failure, your Dterm IP has a backup PSTN circuit that provides incoming and outgoing call capabilities. This is a perfect add-on for users who are located at various distances away from their servicing switch.

INASET

As a member of the Dterm IP family, the INASET product line provides a full set of features one would expect from an enterprise terminal: call forwarding, transferring, redialing, speed dialing, conference calling, full duplex hands-free mode and voice mail access. Additional value of the INASET is achieved through the business applications delivered to the desktop, an integration that is not possible with regular TDM or IP terminals. Some of the high value business applications created by NEC for the INASET are: OpenWorX directory functionality, call log history for both incoming and outgoing calls, location status and message reader. NEC also makes available a SDK (Software Development Kit), which provides third party developers the tools necessary to create IP telephony applications for the INASET. The NEC INASET product line is positioned for the full range of IP terminal deployment from the low cost information Kiosk areas, to the high-end executive. The INASET 240G addresses the communication needs of employees who use basic XML applications. The INASET 320C and 320G are designed to meet the needs of an employee who requires more robust Java and XML applications. In addition to the standard features of the INASET 240G, the INASET 320C/320G provide 32 programmable line and feature keys, plus a full duplex speakerphone with a 256-color LCD.

Dterm Series i

Dterm Series i phones have the capability for IP by adding IP-Adaptor. The Dterm Series i family includes the following versions: 2-Button, 8-Button, 8-Button w/ display, 16-Button w/ display, 32-Button w/ display, and 16-Button Desi-less. 16-Button 32-Button Desi-less 2-Button 8-Button
