| I got this drive to replace a slow 5400 rpm Seagate drive and is amazed at the screaming performance and its quietness. Somewhat Satisfied After two years, this drive finally went South on me. I wish hard drives were not so short lived. I guess two years is not so bad. Working perfectly with Mac OS X 10.6.4 (Snow Leopard). Working perfectly with Mac OS X 10.6.4 (Snow Leopard). | I cloned a 250 GB drive to this one using Seagate Discwizard. Worked perfectly. No problems Quiet, fast, reasonably priced. This thing is a piece of work. I had this for only a little over a year. | |

About the Manual
This manual is intended for all users who want to learn how to use Nero BurnRights. It is process-based and explains how to achieve a specific objective on a step-by-step basis. To make best use of this documentation, please note the following conventions: Indicates warnings, preconditions or instructions that have to be precisely followed. Indicates additional information or advice. 1. Start The number at the beginning of a line indicates a prompt for action. Carry out these actions in the order specified. Indicates an intermediate result. Indicates a result. OK (see) [] Indicates text passages or buttons that appear in the program interface. They are shown in boldface. Indicates references to other chapters. They are executed as links and are shown in red and underlined. Indicates keyboard shortcuts for entering commands.
About Nero BurnRights
Nero BurnRights allows a system administrator to authorize users without administrator rights to burn discs and connect new burners. This is necessary as users without administrator rights do not have access to the drivers needed for burning discs or for connecting new burners. Additionally, the system administrator can assign rights for individual burners or Nero applications to users without administrator rights.
Starting The Program
To start Nero BurnRights, proceed as follows:
1. If you are using Windows XP or Windows Vista in Classic start menu mode:
1. Click Start > (All) Programs > Settings > Control Panel > Nero BurnRights. The Nero BurnRights window is opened.
2. If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7:
1. Click Start (the start icon) > Control Panel. The ControlPanel window is opened. 2. Double-click the Nero BurnRights 10 entry. The Nero BurnRights window is opened.
You have started Nero BurnRights.
On Windows Vista x64 and Windows 7 x64, you will find the Nero BurnRights entry in the View 32-bit Control Panel items subfolder of the Control Panel.
Simple Nero BurnRights Window Under Windows XP
After starting Nero BurnRights under Windows XP, the Nero BurnRights window is opened.
Nero BurnRights window
The following setting options are available: Option button Everybody Option button Assigns burn rights only to members of the Windows group NeMembers of the group ro. If the group Nero has not been created in Windows, Nero BurnRights automatically creates the group. Nero Assigns burn rights to all users.
Simple Nero BurnRights Window Under Windows XP Option button Administrators Button Reset Burn Rights Check box Automatically apply settings to newly installed drives Button Advanced Button Assigns burn rights only to administrators. Administrators are users who have administrator rights according to the Windows user profile. Resets the burn rights settings to the default value. By default burn rights are only assigned to Administrators. Applies the settings made to all newly installed drives automatically. If this check box is not selected, an administrator will have to install new drives manually.
Opens the advanced view of the Nero BurnRights window (see Advanced Nero BurnRights Window Under Windows XP 8). Displays the online help.
Button OK Button Cancel Button Apply
Applies the settings made and closes the Nero BurnRights window. Discards the settings made and closes the Nero BurnRights window. Applies all settings made without closing the Nero BurnRights window.
Groups to which users can be assigned are only available or can only be created if the computer is assigned to a domain. If users are refused burn rights, they cannot burn any discs using the installed recorder. Such users only have access to the Image Recorder with the option of burning disk images. In a network with user administration via Active Directory, burn rights must be assigned to all users. This is achieved by clicking the Everybody option button. Otherwise, only local users can be assigned user rights.
Advanced Nero BurnRights Window Under Windows XP
After starting Nero BurnRights under Windows XP and clicking the Advanced button, the extended Nero BurnRights window is opened. Here you can set up and assign the burn rights and other rights individually, according to your wishes. Select an entry in the navigation tree to display the respective screen for editing on the right side.
The following entries are available in the navigation tree: Burning Displays the User group with burn rights screen. The Everybody, Members of the group Nero, and Administrators options buttons are available. In the default settings only administrators have full burn rights. Offers a list of devices for which you can assign user rights. You can either assign user rights for each single device or for all devices at once. For each entry or sub entry the Everybody, Administrators, and Nobody option buttons are available. In the default settings only administrators have full burn rights.

For each entry or sub entry the option buttons Everybody and Nobody are available. In the default settings everybody has full rights of use.
