Wir danken Ihnen fr das Vertrauen, das Sie Nikon mit dem Kauf des AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor ED 18-70 mm f/3.5-4.5G IF entgegenbringen. Die optische Leistung von DX Nikkor Objektiven wurde fr die Nikon D2-Serie, D1-Serie, D100, D70S und D70 optimiert, indem die Gre des Bildkreises gegenber handelsblichen 35 mm-Objektiven reduziert wurde. Durch das geringere Gewicht und die kompaktere Gre wird die Handhabung erleichtert. DX Nikkor Objektive wurden speziell fr die Verwendung mit digitalen SLR-Kameras von Nikon (Nikon DX-Format) entwickelt. Die Objektive lassen sich zwar an Nikons Kleinbild-Spiegelreflexkameras ansetzen, liefern dann jedoch aufgrund des reduzierten Bildfeldes keine einwandfreien Ergebnisse. Merci davoir port votre choix sur lobjectif AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor ED 18-70mm f/3,5-4,5G IF. La performance optique des objectifs Nikkor DX a t optimise pour les appareils Srie D2, Srie D1, D100, D70S et D70 de Nikon car ils rduisent la taille du contour de limage, par comparaison avec des objectifs normaux de 35 mm. Cette caractristique a permis de rduire le poids et la taille des objectifs, ce qui facilite la manipulation de ces derniers. Les objectifs Nikkor DX ont t spcialement conus pour tre utiliss sur les appareils SLR numriques Nikon (format Nikon DX). Ces objectifs peuvent tre monts sur des SLR pour film 35mm, mais ils ne donneront pas de bons rsultats cause de la taille rduite du cercle image. Thank you for purchasing the AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor ED 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF. Optical performance of DX Nikkor lenses is optimized for the Nikon D2-Series, D1-Series, D100, D70S and D70 by reducing the size of the image circle as compared with normal 35mm lenses. This results in lenses with reduced weight and more compact size for much easier handling. DX Nikkor lenses are specially designed for use with Nikon digital SLR cameras (Nikon DX format). These lenses can be attached to film-based 35mm SLRs, but will not work properly due to the reduced size of the image circle. Before using this lens, please read these instructions and the notes on safety operations in your cameras instruction manual. Also, keep this manual handy for future reference.

Variable aperture

Zooming the lens from 18mm to 70mm decreases the maximum aperture approx. 2/3 f/stop. However, there is no need to adjust the aperture, because the camera automatically compensates for this. When taking pictures using a built-in or separate exposure meter, or taking flash photographs in the TTL or nonTTL auto flash mode, use the aperture displayed on the camera.

Ouverture variable

La variation de la focale de 18 mm 70 mm implique une rduction de louverture maximale de 2/3 valeur environ. Mais aucune compensation nest ncessaire parce que lappareil leffectue automatiquement. En prise de vues avec une cellule intgre ou indpendante, ou en photographie au flash en mode TTL ou nonTTL, utilisez louverture affiche sur lappareil.

Attaching the hood
Align the lens hood attachment index ( ) on the hood with the lens hood mounting index on the lens, and turn the hood counterclockwise (as viewed from the camera side) until it click stops. (Fig. A) Make sure that the lens hood mounting index aligns with the lens hood setting index ( ). If the lens hood is not correctly attached, vignetting can occur. To facilitate attachment or removal of the hood, hold it by its base rather than its outer edge. To store the lens hood, attach it in the reverse position.

Thank you for purchasing your new AF-S Teleconverter. Nikon AF-S Teleconverters TC-14E II, TC-17E II and TC-20E II are precision optical accessories, mounted between the camera body and lens. The TC-14E II provides a 1.4X increase in the prime lens' effective focal length with a one f/stop loss in effective aperture, and the TC-17E II provides a 1.7X increase in the prime lens' effective focal length with a one and half f/stop loss in effective aperture, whereas the TC-20E II doubles the prime lens' effective focal length with a two f/stop loss in effective aperture. Because your AF-S Teleconverter has CPU contacts, you can take advantage of features such as metering system, exposure mode, etc. Before using your new teleconverter, carefully read the following instructions so you get the most out of your teleconverter now and for years to come.
Recommended Focusing Screens
Various interchangeable focusing screens are available for Nikon cameras to suit any type of lens or picturetaking situation. Those which are recommended for use with your lens/teleconverter are listed. For the K2/K3, B2/B3 and E2/E3 focusing screens, refer to the columns on the F4 + DP-20s K, B and E screens, respectively. For details, also refer to the specific focusing screens instruction manual.

Usable lenses

Nikon AF-S Teleconverters are designed exclusively for use with AF-S and AF-I Nikkor lenses. Attaching to the lens

When removing the lens from the camera body to attach the teleconverter, make sure that the camera's power is turned off and avoid direct sunlight. Attach the teleconverter to the lens so that the teleconverter's lens mounting index is aligned with the aperture index on the lens. Taking care not to press the lens release tab, turn the teleconverter counterclockwise (with the lens facing away from you) until it clicks into place. To remove: Slide back the teleconverter's lens release tab gzand turn the teleconverter clockwise (with the lens facing away from you).
