A f t e r attaching t h e slide-copying adapter as described above, loosen t h e locking screw and rotate the a d a p t e r h e a d until t h e h o l d e r i n s e r t i o n s l o t i s parallel w i t h t h e c a m e r a ' s h o r i z o n t a l axis (Figure I).

Taking Photographs

1 Place t h e film t o b e p h o t o g r a p h e d i n t o t h e h o l d e r (Figure 2).
If the film has curl or is placed at an angle to the holder, parts of the resulting photograph may not be in focus. Use daylight, a light box, or similar light sources. W h e n using an incandescent light source, keep the diffuser screen at least thirty centimeters (one foot) from the bulb.
If the adapter is placed too close to an incandescent light bulb or left too long in its vicinity, the heat may damage the film or deform the holder.

For example, the camera may have difficulty focusing when: T h e image on the film is extremely dark The image on the film contains extremely large differences in brightness The image on the film is without contrast
