TOKYO - Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce the introduction of the LiteTouch Zoom 70Ws 2.5x zoom compact camera on May 29, 2002. In addition to the quality features and performance of its predecessor, the LiteTouch Zoom 70W, Nikons new compact features a lens barrel that matches the color of the camera body, and a built-in flash that pops up automatically when the camera is turned on, and retracts when the camera is turned off. The LiteTouch Zoom 70Ws not only looks great, it is easy to operate. This camera is targeted at those looking for a lens-shutter camera with a wide-angle zoom lens, as well as those who want to be able to take pictures easily virtually anytime, anywhere. The LiteTouch Zoom 70Ws compact body houses a 2.5x zoom lens, letting users easily frame images within a 28-70mm range. The lens features a multilayer coating which minimizes reflection, for superior color balance and reproduction. Theres also a built-in sliding lens cover for protection. The built-in, auto pop-up flash and a number of versatile flash functions make picture-taking more fun. And fully automatic operation simplifies use, allowing everyone to get more enjoyment out of their photography.
