Thank you for purchasing the Nikon MB-E5700 battery pack for use with Nikon COOLPIX5700 digital cameras. The MB-E5700 takes six LR6 (AA) batteries (alkaline, lithium, NiCad, or NiMH) and includes alternate shutter release and zoom buttons to ease taking pictures in vertical-orientaiton.

Do not connect the battery pack to any device not mentioned in this manual. Do not use any other types of batteries than those recommended in this manual. Do not short the battery pack's power terminals with a metal object such as a necklace or keys. Shorting the power terminals could result in leakage, fire, explosion, or other damage to the batteries in the battery pack. Be sure to replace the battery pack contacts cover whenever the battery pack is not in use. When carring the battery holder removed from the MB-E5700, remove its batteries or install it in a case to avoid possible short-circuit caused by contacts with other metal objects. Before attaching the battery pack, be sure that the camera is off and that the shutter-release button locking ring (Figure 1-) on the battery pack is in the L position.
Remove the battery pack contacts cover (Figure 1-). Be sure to replace the battery pack contacts cover whenever the battery pack is not in use. Open the battery-chamber cover in the base of the camera handgrip (Figure 2A) and remove the battery, if present. Remove the coupling contacts cover, also found on the base of the camera, by pushing it down at and sliding it out in the direction of the arrow, as shown in Figure 2A. Fully insert the coupling contacts cover into the coupling contacts cover holder on the MBE5700 as shown in Figure 2A-. Hold the battery-chamber cover at about 45, gently pull until the peg (Figure 2B-) pulls free and remove the cover. Insert the battery-chamber cover into the battery-chamber cover holder MB-E5700 and slide the battery-chamber cover latch to the position as shown in Figure 2B-.

Whenever you attach or remove the battery pack, be sure that the camera is off and that the shutter-release button locking ring on the battery pack is in the L position. Replace the battery-chamber cover by inserting the covers right peg into the hole at Figuer 2H-, then slide the left peg (closest to the coupling contacts) into its slot. Slide the coupling contacts cover back into place (Figuer 2H-). Be sure to replace the battery-chamber cover before the coupling contacts cover. Inserting Batteries (Use Six LR6 (AA) Batteries)
Before inserting batteries, be sure that the camera is off and that the shutter-release button locking ring on the battery pack is in the L position.

Slide the battery holder latch on the side of the battery pack to the
position and remove the battery holder (Figure 2E).
Insert six LR6 (AA) batteries, taking care to orient the battery terminals as shown on the inside of the battery holder (Figure 2F). Note that all the batteries have the same orientation. Slide the battery holder into the battery pack and slide the battery holder latch to the position (Figure 2G). Turn the camera on and check the battery level in the control panel, or in the monitor or viewfinder.

Schalten Sie die Kamera ein und berprfen Sie auf dem Display, im Sucher oder auf dem Monitor den Ladezustand der Batterien/Akkus.
Zum Entnehmen der Akkus/Batterien fhren Sie die Schritte in umgekehrter Reihefolge durch.
To remove the batteries, reverse the above steps.

The battery pack is equipped with shutter-release and zoom buttons for taking vertical-orientaiton photographs. These serve the same function as the shutter-release and zoom buttons on the camera. For details, please refer to the Guide to Digital Photography included with your camera. The shutter-release button on the battery pack is equipped with a locking mechanism. To use the battery pack shutterrelease button, rotate the locking ring to the (on) position. The shutter-release button locking ring on the battery pack cannot be used for turning the camera on and off. To turn the camera on and off, use the cameras power switch. When the camera is in shooting mode, pressing (for wide angle) on the zoom button zooms the camera out, while pressing (for telephoto) zooms the camera in. In full-screen review mode or full-frame playback mode press to trigger playback zoom and press for thumbnail playback.
