The EN-EL3e is a rechargeable battery for use only with the Nikon digital camera. When recharging the EN-EL3e, use only the MH-18a/MH-18 Quick Charger or the MH-19 Multi Charger. Do not expose the battery to heat or ame. Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the battery. Do not short the positive and negative battery terminals with a metal object such as a necklace or keys. Failure to follow these instructions could cause the battery to leak corrosive liquids, overheat, explode, or cause other damage to the battery.

Precautions for Use IMPORTANT
After removing the battery from the camera for storage or transportation, be sure to attach the terminal cover included with the EN-EL3e. Shorting the battery could result in leakage, re explosion, or other damage to the battery. The EN-EL3e is for use with compatible devices only. See the documentation provided with the battery charger for information on re charging the prod uct, as well as for further cautions and warnings that must be observed when recharging. Recharge the battery before using the product for the rst time, or before using the product following an extended period of disuse. Do not use the battery at ambient temperatures below 0 C (32 F) or above 40 C (104 F). Failure to observe this precaution could damage the battery or impair its performance. When recharging, the ambient temperature should be in the vicinity of 535 C (4195 F). Do not attempt to recharge a fully-charged battery. Failure to observe this precaution will re sult in reduced bat tery per for mance. You may notice that the battery is hot directly after use or recharging; this does not indicate a malfunction. In cold conditions, the battery may require frequent recharging even when fully charged. It is recommended that you keep a fully-charged spare battery in a warm place and exchange as necessary when taking pictures in cold weather. The battery level shown by the camera may be inuenced by changes in temperature and other conditions. A marked drop in the time a fully-charged battery retains its charge, when used at room temperature, indicates that the battery needs to be replaced. If the camera supports the EN-EL3e battery info feature, battery life can also be determined by checking the battery info display (see the camera manual for details). Purchase a new EN-EL3e battery when indicated. If the battery will not be used for some time, insert it in the camera and run it at before removing it for storage. If the battery is kept in storage for a long period, charge the battery and then use the camera to run it at again at least once a year. Always remove the battery from the camera or battery charger when it is not being used. Left installed, minute amounts of current ow even when unused, and the battery may become excessively drained and no longer function. Attach the terminal cover and store in a cool place. * The battery should be stored in a dry location with an ambient temperature of 1525 C (5977 F). * Do not leave the battery in hot or extremely cold places. Should the battery terminals become dirty, wipe them o with a clean, dry cloth before use. Should you notice smoke or an unusual smell coming from the charger, unplug it, taking care to avoid burns. Take the charger to a Nikon representative for inspection.
