The Nokia N95 (N95-1, internally known as RM-159) is a smartphone produced by Nokia as part of their Nseries line of portable devices. Use the Nokia N95 for connecting to mobile Broadband using WLAN or HSDPA (3.5G) with up to 10 times faster downloading than 3G.

It would be verynice if the battery life was a bit stronger for this unit. It is the N95-3! As per the box label...Works flawlessly on AT&T 3G...A firmware upgrade is available...Does not randomly restart...

Was impressed at first, however, after some useage the N95 has some quirks. I like the Nokia N95 a lot but the whole reason I got it was the camera function. I was expecting digital camera quality photos, and I was very. Much improved over the "Euro/Can" version. Longer battery life and sufficient memory to run almost any number of apps.

Buggy hardware and software My wife bought this phone for me last year. Recently my phone started rebooting by itself very frequently. Awesome. Great phone, runs like a champ. You can even play Quake2 pc on this phone. Auto shuts down The device would automatically shut down without warning. Does not notify wether or not the recording has stopped.

This is the best phone. It is very easy to use. The best and most important part of this phone is the ringing volume.

My N95 has all the features that you could ask for. I am very pleased with it. There are areas for improvement.

This is the best phone ever I have used. This has all the functionality that everyone will need. Overall, I am very satisfied with this phone. Would I trade it for an iPhone, Gi or a BB? This smart phone is not just a smart phone. It is really a small computer. It has 5M camera, so taht I get rid of my camera. It has a music player.

Headset

Warning: When you use the headset, your ability to hear outside sounds may be affected. Do not use the headset where it can endanger your safety. Some headsets come in two parts, a remote control unit and headphones. A remote control unit, for example, the Nokia Audio Controller AD-54, has a microphone and keys to answer or end a phone call, adjust the volume, and play music or video files. To use the headphones with a remote control unit, connect the unit to the Nokia AV Connector (3.5 mm) in the device, then connect the headphones to the unit. If a headset does not include a microphone, for handsfree phone calls, use such a headset with a compatible remote control unit or the microphone of the device. Positioning (GPS)

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a worldwide radio navigation system that includes 24 satellites and their ground stations that monitor the operation of the satellites. Your device has an internal GPS receiver. The GPS receiver is located in the bottom of the device. When using the receiver, slide the numeric keypad open, and from an upright position, move the device to an angle of about 45 degrees with an unobstructed view of the sky. Do not cover the numeric keypad with your hand. The accuracy of location data can be affected by poor satellite geometry. Availability and quality of GPS signals may be affected by your location, buildings, natural obstacles, and weather conditions. The GPS receiver should only be used outdoors to allow reception of GPS signals. Your device also supports Assisted GPS (A-GPS) (network service). Assisted GPS (A-GPS) is used to retrieve assistance data over a packet data connection, which assists in calculating

the coordinates of your current location when your device is receiving signals from satellites. Any GPS should not be used for precise location measurement, and you should never rely solely on location data from the GPS receiver and cellular radio networks for positioning or navigation.
With Maps, you can see your current location on the map, browse maps for different cities and countries, search for addresses, and plan routes. To open the Maps application, press , and select Maps. The map coverage varies by country. Almost all digital cartography is inaccurate and incomplete to some extent. Never rely solely on the cartography that you download for use in this device. When you browse the map on the display, for example, to move to another country, a new map is downloaded automatically, provided that you have an internet connection. Downloading maps may involve the transmission of large amounts of data through your service providers network. Contact your service provider for information about data transmission charges.

Download maps

Nokia Map Loader is a PC software that you can use to download and install maps for different countries to your device from the internet. To use Nokia Map Loader, you must first install it to a compatible PC. You can download the software from the internet at www.nokia.com/maps. Follow the instructions on the screen. You can also download maps by using a wireless LAN connection. You can view the amount of transferred data from the data counter (KB) shown on the display. The counter shows the amount of network traffic when you browse maps, create routes, or search for locations online. To check whether the maps that are downloaded to your device have been updated on the map server, select Options > Settings > Network > Options > Check for map updates. To prevent the device from automatically downloading maps through the internet, for example, when you are outside your home cellular network, select Options > Settings > Network > Use network > Off.

Wireless LAN wizard

Your device supports wireless local area network (WLAN). With WLAN, you can connect your device to the internet and compatible devices that have WLAN. To use WLAN, it must be available in the location, and your device must be connected to the WLAN. The WLAN wizard helps you to connect to a WLAN and manage your WLAN connections. The WLAN wizard shows the status of your WLAN connections in the active standby mode. To view the available options, scroll to the row showing the status, and select it. If WLAN scanning is off and you are not connected to any WLAN, WLAN scanning off is displayed. To set scanning on and search for available WLANs, select the status, and press the scroll key. Important: Always enable one of the available encryption methods to increase the security of your wireless LAN connection. Using encryption reduces the risk of unauthorized access to your data.

Medical devices

Operation of any radio transmitting equipment, including wireless phones, may interfere with the functionality of inadequately protected medical devices. Consult a physician or the manufacturer of the medical device to determine if they are adequately shielded from external RF energy or if you have any questions. Switch off your device in health care facilities when any regulations posted in these areas instruct you to do so. Hospitals or health care facilities may be using equipment that could be sensitive to external RF energy.

Operating environment

This device meets RF exposure guidelines when used either in the normal use position against the ear or when positioned at least 1.5 centimeters (5/8 inch) away from the body. When a carry case, belt clip, or holder is used for body-worn operation, it should not contain metal and should position the device the above-stated distance from your body. To transmit data files or messages, this device requires a quality connection to the network. In some cases, transmission of data files or messages may be delayed until such a connection is available. Ensure the above separation distance instructions are followed until the transmission is completed. Parts of the device are magnetic. Metallic materials may be attracted to the device. Do not place credit cards or other magnetic storage media near the device, because information stored on them may be erased.
Implanted medical devices Manufacturers of medical devices recommend that a minimum separation of 15.3 centimeters (6 inches) should be maintained between a wireless device and an implanted medical device, such as a pacemaker or implanted cardioverter defibrillator, to avoid potential interference with the medical device. Persons who have such devices should: Always keep the wireless device more than 15.3 centimeters (6 inches) from the medical device when the wireless device is turned on. Not carry the wireless device in a breast pocket. Hold the wireless device to the ear opposite the medical device to minimise the potential for interference. Turn the wireless device off immediately if there is any reason to suspect that interference is taking place.
