This bulletin is a follow up to Marketing Communique MC365 issued in July 2002 notifying the market of the manufacture discontinue of the Norstar M7310, M7208, and M7100 telephone sets effective January 1, 2003. The purpose of this bulletin is to notify you of the miscellaneous products associated with these telephones that will also be manufacture discontinued effective January 1, 2003. Definitions Manufacture Discontinue Definition This notice serves as formal communication of Nortel Networks intent to manufacture discontinue (MD) the product(s) noted. No further orders will be accepted as of the date shown above. The MD of these products should not be interpreted as the discontinuance of any Nortel Networks agreements to support the existing field population. Manufacture Discontinue of Norstar M7100, M7208, and M7310 Telephones
Due to changes in customer demand with the introduction of the Business Series Terminals T7100, T7208, and T7316, Nortel Networks is announcing the product retirement of the Norstar M7100, M7208, and M7310 telephones effective January 1, 2003. A separate communiqu will be issued by the end of July outlining the plans for the telephone set miscellaneous items such as keycaps, documentation, etc. The M7324 and CAP will still be available as part of the Business Series Terminals portfolio. In line with our contractual obligations effective January 1, 2003, Nortel Networks will provide 3 years of support from the date of manufacture discontinue. Business Series Terminals offer a feature-rich portfolio with enhanced capabilities that provide telephony solutions for a broad landscape of users, from high-volume call positions and executives, to low-intensive users and small workgroups. While the Business Series Terminals boast the industry leadership and strengths of the Norstar telephone portfolio, this portfolio also delivers value-added features like tilt display, visual ring indicator, message waiting indication (MWI), new aesthetics, a streamlined footprint, new labeling strategy, an audio control center with a headset button and more.
