After using a 1 mega-pixel digicam for several years, I was ready to move up to the 3 mega-pixel range in hopes of getting clearer pictures. Got it for my birthday, what a present!:) Great overall flexibility. great overall camera if you are looking for a camera that delivers stunning printable quality photos. I have printed up to 8.

Great camera. Does a terrific job on high quality photographs or snap shots for email. Terrific camera Smart media card has limitations on size. Great pictures. Night time pictures with flash not nearly as good as day time pictures. Excellent micro pics with great color.

This is my second digital camera. My first one was the Olympus C2000zoom. Works great, but its features are nothing comapred to C3020.

AM NOT OWN THIS CAMERA BUT HAVE USED IT (MY FRIENDS CAMERA) FOR SOMETIMES GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY EXCELENT PICTURE QUALITY STILL FINDING I have had the 3020 Zoom for over a year now. I thought the features packed into this camera would satisfy my desire for creative shots. I own dis cam, is easy to use, when i first time bought dis cam i using P mode, but no longer i find that manual is quite interesting n easy to use.

Q: Why can't manganese batteries be used in the C-3020 Zoom? A: Olympus strongly discourages the use of Manganese batteries in the C-3020 Zoom. Manganese batteries cannot provide sufficient power and have a short lifespan. Additionally, they also may cause damage to the camera by generating excess heat. Q: Why is the alert ind icating remaining battery life displayed earlier when using NiMH batteries than when using a lithium battery pack? A: NiMH and lithium batteries have different characteristics that cause the remaining battery life indicator to be displayed earlier when using NiMH batteries. A: Using the Macro mode, it is possible to zoom through all ranges from telephoto to wide down to a minimum distance of 8 inches. When shooting in full telephoto in the macro mode, the subject area that will fill the frame is 3.3"x 2.5". Q: What is the shooting area when using the special macro conversion lens? A: Using the Macro lens and shooting in full telephoto in the macro mode, the subject area that will fill the frame is 2.1" x 1.6" Please Note: The built- in flash cannot be used when using the macro conversion lens. Q: Are user settings saved in the memory even when the camera's power is turned off? A: When the Clear Settings function is set to OFF, user settings will be preserved in the camera's memory until they are changed, even if the power is turned off. However, if the camera's battery is removed, user settings will revert to their factory defaults after approximately 1 hour. Q: While the power is turned off, I can see something that looks like dust in the viewfinder. What is this? A: If the shooting lens is retracted (when the camera is off), something that appears like dust can be seen in the viewfinder. This does not indicate actual dust or malfunction of the camera. It is simply that due to the camera's construction, the surface of the viewfinder lens can be seen whenever the power is turned off. It should not be visible during shooting (when the power is turned on) and will not affect the image. Q: How does the C-3020 Zoom handle image file and folder names? A: The file names are created as follows: * Each image file name includes information about the month, date, and file number of the time the image was taken. * For example, the file name PB030020 indicates the month as B, the day as the 3rd, and the 0020 as the 20th picture taken on that day. * Months are designated 1 through 9 for January through September, then A through C for October through December. * The "P" at the beginning of the name indicates "picture" and is a fixed designation. * Image numbers are assigned by the camera automatically, up to 9999. When number 9999 is passed, the numbering resets to 0001. * Even when a new SmartMedia card is inserted, this numbering continues. The folder names are created as follows: * When a new SmartMedia card is inserted into the camera and shooting begins, a new folder name ("Dcim" - "xxxolymp") is written onto the card. * The first three places in the "xxxolymp" folder name will be a number between 100 and 999. When 999 is passed, the numbering resets to 100.

* Even when a new SmartMedia card is inserted, this numbering will continue. * When image number 9999 is reached, a new folder is automatically created, and the xxx portion of the folder name increases by 1. Q: How can folder and file names be assigned in the various modes? A: There are two ways to assign folder and file names. (1) Reset: When replacing the SmartMedia card, both the folder and file numbers are reset. (2) Auto: When replacing the SmartMedia card, the folder number remains the same, but the file number continues with the next number following the last number written onto the previous card.
