This camera is a good unit to me. Pretty cute looking. The LCD screen looks very clean and nice. The 5X zoom is enough for normal usage.

This a ultracompact digital camera available on the market, with cheaper price than I thought it will be. It only cost around $150.

This would be a good camera for everyday use. This would be a good camera for everyday use. On a sunny day the LCD screen is useless. You just have to guess what you are shooting.

A truly good camera, lightweight, solid, quiet, with lots of options to render this camera a winner. This camera is a good unit to me. Easy to use. Cute looking only xd card.

Received product with all accessories shown in photograph. No problems with it being recertified, product was in brand new condition. Im going to try the 750... I think the non digital stabilization will work much better and enable me to take pics in lower light without a tripod... I recommend this camera, the only difference between this one (stylus 740) and its brother Stylus 750 is that the 750 has 2 immage stabilazers.
gutpeter 3:28am on Sunday, April 4th, 2010
The Stylus 740 is the thinnest 5x optical zoom camera in its class, and it boasts all the quality features you expect from a Stylus. from my own use, its the best camera as it is easy to use.

Tool Factory has been teaching digital camera workshops for 7 years. When it comes to digital cameras, I love my Olympus! is a general mantra among teachers in the training labs. Our favorite moments are those sudden bursts of discovery. For instance, when a teacher shoots a super-macro photograph of a bug's head - each of the thousand lenses in a fly's eye are suddenly visible in vibrant color. This year Olympus and Tool Factory have been working behind the scenes to develop new programs for education. Our grants program was in such high demand that we've added 20 new awards for special education. Now over $50,000 in educational grants are available for teachers, students, and special educators. But still, we wanted to do more. So we're developing a fundraising website called Digital Wish, designed to help educators acquire digital cameras and project-building software in the classroom. We've been amassing over 1,000 digital photography project ideas, all compiled in a searchable online library. Teachers will be able to hunt for interesting projects, then utilize letter-writing templates and fundraise to make their Digital Wish come true. The site will launch in early 2007 at www.digitalwish.com and we hope you will participate! Together, Olympus and Tool Factory have been working hard to create the most comprehensive digital camera program, designed just for educators. This catalog is loaded with shooting tips, budgeting ideas, and training programs to help you get started. We're committed to making a difference in education. Call the Tool Factory/Olympus team anytime at (800) 220-8386. We'll see you in the classroom. Happy Shooting! Heather Chirtea President and CEO Tool Factory, Inc.

Pro SLR and Audio
With all digital cameras there can be as much as a 1+ second lag between pushing the shutter and taking a photograph. There are actually two functions of the shutter. Push the shutter halfway down and you will feel some resistance. The camera will focus on the subject and set the light level. Only after the camera has made these adjustments, will it let you push the shutter down all the way and take a photograph.

One of the best things about digital photography is that you can see your photos as soon as you shoot them.

Shooting Tips

Composing a great photograph involves seeing the subject with your eye as well as your mind. Here are some basic composition rules to try on your own.

Leading Lines

Add depth to your photographs by capturing hard lines that travel off into the distance.

Rule of Thirds

Cut your photo into thirds and place your subject on one of the intersections of these lines. Place horizon lines on the thirds instead of straight across the middle.

Change Position

Move closer to your subjects so they fill the screen.

Perspective

Bend your knees or even lay on the ground to make the subject look larger.

Turn Camera Sideways

If your subject is vertical, turn the camera sideways so the aspect ratios match.

Foreground Interest

When shooting scenes, capturing something very close to the camera can add depth.

Self Timer

Take a class photo without a photographer! Push the shutter and run in front of the camera for group shots.
