CP1E CPU Units use USB for the peripheral port. Computers can be connected using commercially available USB cables. Without the need for USB conversion cables or special cables, connection is easier and cable cost is low.

Omron Introduces the New Economical CP1E Micro PLC
SCHAUMBURG, IL (June, 2009)At Expo Pack 2009 in Mexico City, Omron Electronics LLC (www.omron247.com) will introduce the new compact CP1E series micro programmable controllers designed to meet the performance needs of Latin American manufacturers at an economical price. It delivers an exceptional solution for automating small machines with as few as 20 I/O points and flexibility to expand to 160 I/O. All CPUs offer high- speed USB connection for easy connection and Easy Input Editor for faster programming by using an intuitive predictive ladder editor. Two different families are available: CP1E-E is the economical yet powerful model, while the CP1E-N has a built-in real time clock, motion control capabilities, and an intelligent RS-232 port for connection to an HMI, bar code reader, robot or other serial device. Since the CP1E series shares the same architecture as Omrons CP1L, CP1H, CJ1, and CS1 programmable controller series, but with a smaller yet powerful instruction set, programs are compatible across platforms and allow for easy upward migration.
The CP1E supports programming via CX-One Software that features easy program development as well as on-line editing of program logic. Simulation software included in CXOne allows pre-testing of programs without any hardware and shortens commissioning time.

Omron CP1E Programmable Controller Page 2 of 2 The CP1E models are available with 20, 30, or 40 I/O built-in. The 30- and 40-point CPUs can be expanded with a wide range of CP1W expansion units up to 160 I/O points. All CP1E-N transistor output models support positioning and motion control with four high-speed encoder inputs (100 kHz) for counters that use two-axis differential phase control or four axes of singlephase control, and two high-speed pulse outputs (100 kHz) for two-axis control. The CP1E-N has a built-in RS-232 port and offers an additional optional port using a plug-in adapter for Ethernet, RS-232, or RS-422A/485 serial communication.
The CP1E is available from stock. Prices vary depending on basic configuration and options chosen. Units are CE approved but currently do not have UL or CSA approvals.
