Love both the silicone case and zebra sleeve pouch. The item was all that the description said it would be! I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it to friends.

Does this device have any real flaws? Lets address some real shortcomings of the iPad. The iPad is exactly what I expected, easy to use, very well executed so long as you understand that it is mainly a device to consume media.

In TV, VCR, DVD, SAT, and CBL modes, use FAV to scan favorite channels and/or all channels. See Using Channel Scan and Programming Favorite Channel Scan.

USING A MACRO

With programming, the MACRO key on your One For All 8 Device Home Theater Universal Remote Control can be setup to perform a repetitive, time-consuming operation for easy, convenient access through the press of a single key. A macro can be used to control a home theater operation, to set a favorite channel, or for other multiple functions you would like to control with one key press (see examples below). Moreover, the MACRO key can hold up to 15 key presses total.
NOTE: Programming a new macro over an existing one will erase the original macro.
4. Use the keypad to enter a favorite channel number (e.g., 031). Then press SET once.
NOTE: If the original remote control required pressing an Enter key to change the channel, also press the Enter key after the channel number (e.g., 0 -3-1-Enter).

SOLUTION: Try all listed codes for the device brands being set up. Make sure they can be operated with an infrared remote control. PROBLEM: TV/VCR combo does not respond properly. SOLUTION: Use the VCR codes for your brand. Some combo units may require both a TV code and a VCR code for full operation. PROBLEM: Changing channels does not work properly. SOLUTION: If original remote control required pressing ENTER to change channels, press ENTER on the remote control after entering the channel number. PROBLEM: Tried Search For Your Code method and still could not find a working code.
6. Repeat steps 1 through 5 for each device you want to control. For future reference, write down each working device code in the boxes below: TV Code: VCR Code: DVD Code:
5. Repeat step 4 three more times for remaining digits. Use 2 for the second digit, 3 for the third digit, and 4 for the fourth digit. 6. To check for codes of other devices, repeat steps 1 through 5, but substitute the appropriate device key for each device you are checking.
5. If desired, repeat step 4 (in this section) for each favorite channel to be stored, up to a total of 10 channels.
NOTE: If you try entering more than 10 channels, the remote control will automatically exit programming.
Locking Volume Control To One Mode (Global Volume Lock):
1. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET. 2. Enter 9 - 9 - 3 and then press any mode key once (e.g., TV). The LED will blink twice. 3. Now, when you press VOL+, VOL, or MUTE, the volume of the selected device (e.g., TV) will be controlled regardless of the mode you have selected.
Press PREV once to recall the last-viewed channel and to page back one screen on the main menu. In the CD mode, use PREV to turn random play on or off.
6. To exit programming, press and hold SET for 3 seconds. The LED will blink twice.
Example Programming A Favorite Channel

In the RCVR/AMP mode, use PREV to select the receiver band. Use the keypad (1 ~ 9 and 0) to directly select channels (for example, 009 or 031). In the RCVR/AMP mode, use the keypad (1 ~ 9 and 0) to select audio sources 1 through 10. Press ENTER once after entering the channel numbers on some TVs. In the CD mode, use ENTER to add 10 to the digit entry (e.g., ENTER and 7 is 17). Use TV/VID to switch the TVs input to view TV or video programs. Use the transport keys to control your VCR, DVD or CD player, or VOD (Video On Demand) if available on your cable or satellite service.
USING THE HOME THEATER MODE

Device Type: _______________________________ The One For All 8 Device Home Theater Universal Remote Control includes a custom Home Theater mode. After the HOME THEATER key is programmed, it will allow you to access five groups of remote control keys without having to change device modes.
With so many channels available through your cable or satellite system provider, you can program a macro that directly selects a favorite channel with one key press. For example, lets assume your favorite cable programs are on channel 71. Use the following instructions to program a macro for direct access of this channel:
NOTE: This example assumes the TV tuner is connected directly to the cable line and not through a cable box.

USING KEYMOVER

The One For All 8 Device Home Theater Universal Remote Control includes a Keymover feature that allows you to map (or copy) keys from one mode (i.e., source mode) to another mode (i.e., destination mode).
NOTE: The following keys cannot be used as a source or destination: TV, VCR, DVD, AUX, SAT, HOME THEATER, CD, CBL, RCVR/AMP, and SET.
Unlocking Volume Control For A Single Device (Individual Volume Unlock):
1. After performing Global Volume Lock (above), press and hold SET again until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET. 2. Press a desired mode key where you want volume to be unlocked (e.g., RCVR/AMP) and controlled within its own mode. 3. Enter 9 - 9 - 3 and then press VOL once. The LED will blink four times. 4. If desired, repeat steps 1 through 3 (of this section) for each device that you want volume to be unlocked. 5. Now, after you select a device that has volume unlocked (e.g., RCVR/AMP), pressing VOL+, VOL, or MUTE, will control the devices volume only in its own mode.
SOLUTION: Clear the device key as follows: Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release. Next enter 9 - 9 - 2. Then press the device key to be cleared twice. Now repeat the Search For Your Code method. PROBLEM: Remote control does not turn on Sony or Sharp TV/VCR Combo.

Control Organization

About Control Groups
For Home Theater programming, the remote controls keys are grouped by type of control into the following five control groups: (1) Transport Controls: (2) Volume Controls: (3) Channel Controls: PLAY, STOP, FWD, REW, PAUSE, and REC VOL+, VOL-, and MUTE CH+, CH-, (Keypad) 0 ~ 9, ENTER, LAST, SLEEP, INFO, and TV/VCR MENU, GUIDE, Cursor Controls (Up, Down, Left, Right), SELECT, and EXIT PIP, MOVE, and SWAP
1. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET. 2. Enter 9 - 9 - 5. The LED will blink twice. 3. Press MACRO once. 4. Press TV once. 5. Enter the channel number, 7 - 1.
NOTE: If you have access to over 100 channels, enter 0 -7 -1. Moreover, if the original remote control required pressing an Enter key to change the channel, also press the Enter key after the channel number (e.g., 0 -7 -1-Enter).

Programming Keymover

For example, if your VCR does not have volume control, you can map the volume and mute keys from the TV mode to the VCR mode as follows: 1. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET. 2. Enter 9 - 9 - 4. The LED will blink twice. 3. For the source mode, press TV once. 4. For the source key, press VOL+ once. 5. For the destination mode, press VCR once. 6. For the destination key, press VOL + once. 7. The LED will blink twice indicating the keymoved sequence is correct. 8. Repeat steps 1 through 7 twice more, substituting VOL and MUTE as source and destination keys in steps 4 and 6. Upon completion of the above procedure, you can now use your One For All 8 Device Home Theater Universal Remote Control to control the TVs volume and mute in the VCR mode, as well as in the TV mode.
SOLUTION: For power on, these products require programming TV codes. For Sony, use TV code 0000 and VCR code 0032. For Sharp, use TV code 0093 and VCR code 0048. PROBLEM: CH+ and CH- do not work for your RCA TV. SOLUTION: Due to RCA design (1983-1987), only the original remote control will operate these functions. PROBLEM: No remote control of volume. SOLUTION: See Changing Volume Lock to lock/unlock volume.
Unlocking All Volume Control (Restoring Default Setting):
NOTE: Performing these instructions will restore independent volume control for all programmed devices (e.g., TV volume control in TV mode, VCR volume in VCR mode, etc.).
PROGRAMMING TV/VCR COMBO CONTROL

Perform the following instructions to control a TV/VCR Combo: 1. Turn on the TV/VCR Combo and insert a video cassette.
NOTE: Please read steps 2 through 4 completely before proceeding. Highlight or write down the codes and device you wish to program before starting step 2.

INTRODUCTION

The One For All 8 Device Home Theater Universal Remote Control is designed to operate up to eight home entertainment devices, including TV, video, and audio components. The remote control requires two (2) new AA alkaline batteries (not included) and easy programming to control your devices. For best results, please read and perform all instructions listed here.Also, keep these instructions for future reference.
Use PIP to switch the Picture-In-Picture feature on or off (if available on your TV). Use MOVE to move the window picture to different positions in the main picture. Use SWAP to switch images and sound between the main and window pictures. Press SLEEP to activate your devices sleep timer (not available for all devices). Use to turn on or off the key backlight. When this feature is activated, keys will remain backlight for 5 seconds after the last key press. Use SET for all programming sequences.

Example Programming A Master Power Key With Instant Channel Selection
A macro can be programmed to turn on and off your equipment as well. For example, lets set up a sequence that will turn on the TV and tune it to channel 3, and then turn on the Cable Box and tune it to a premium channel (e.g., 11).
NOTE: This example assumes all equipment is turned off and that the TV is connected through the cable box with TV tuning set to channel 3.

ABOUT UPGRADING

The One For All 8 Device Home Theater Universal Remote Control has the largest infrared code library available. However, if you purchase a brand new home entertainment or home automation device, it may not respond to the codes stored in the remote controls memory. If this happens, please contact our Customer Support department (see Customer Support below) to upgrade the remote control. The Customer Support representative will search our entire database for a code that matches your device and instruct you how to enter it into your One For All 8 Device Home Theater Universal Remote Control. If the code for your home entertainment or home automation device is not in our database,we will need to capture the code for that device from its original remote control. A new code would then be created and entered into your One For All 8 Device Home Theater Universal Remote Control.If necessary,the Customer Support representative can instruct you how to begin the capture procedure.
NOTE: One For All reserves the right to replace a returned remote control with a new one of equal or superior functionality.

One For All warrants, to the original purchaser only, that this product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship, under normal use, for ninety (90) days from the date of original purchase. The default Device Group setting from the factory is:

6. If youve located a setup code that works, but it has a separate TV code, youll also need to program it into the remote control to access volume control as follows: a. Press TV once. The LED (red light) will blink twice. b. Enter the TV code for your TV/VCR Combo. If correct, the LED will blink twice.
NOTE: For VCR/TV Combos programmed with separate TV codes, TV volume is controlled by pressing VCR first and then TV. After that, use VOL+ (or VOL-) to raise (or lower) the TV volume. For other alternatives on controlling your volume keys, see the Changing Volume Lock or Using Keymover sections.
Programming The Home Theater Mode
For example, lets assume you have a TV, a cable box, and a VCR in your home theater system.You can set up the Home Theater mode so that selected controls are assigned to these devices as follows: 1. On the remote control, press HOME THEATER. 2. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET. 3. Enter 9 - 7 - 9. The LED will blink twice. 4. Select a device. For this example, press VCR once. Then assign a desired Control Group to the device. For this example, press PLAY once, which will assign the entire group of Transport Controls (i.e., PLAY, STOP, FWD, REW, PAUSE, and REC) to the VCR. The LED will blink once. 5. Select another device. For this example, press TV once. Then assign a desired Control Group to this device. For this example, press VOL+ once, which will assign the entire group of Volume Controls (i.e., VOL+, VOL-, and MUTE) to the TV. The LED will blink once. 6. Select another device. For this example, press CBL once. Then assign a desired Control Group to this device. For this example, press CH+ once, which will assign the entire group of Channel Controls (i.e., CH+, CH-, (Keypad) 0 ~ 9, ENTER, LAST, SLEEP, INFO, and TV/VCR) to the Cable Box. The LED will blink once. 7. To add additional Menu functionality to the Cable Box, press CBL once. Then press MENU once. This action will assign the entire group of Menu Controls (i.e., MENU, GUIDE, Cursor Controls (Up, Down, Left, Right), SELECT, and EXIT) to the Cable Box. The LED will blink once. 8. To add PIP functionality to the TV, press TV once. Then press PIP once. This action will assign the entire group of PIP Controls (i.e., PIP, MOVE, and SWAP) to the TV. The LED will blink once. 9. To exit Home Theater programming, press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

Key Charts

The LED (red light) blinks to show that the remote control is working and is sending signals. Press TV, VCR, DVD, AUX, SAT, CBL, RCVR/AMP, or CD once to select a desired home entertainment device to control. After programming, press HOME THEATER once to select the home theater mode (see Using The Home Theater Mode). Press POWER once to turn on or off the selected device. Press MENU once to display your selected devices main menu. Use GUIDE to display your selected devices program guide or setup menu. Use EXIT to exit from your selected devices guide or menu. Use INFO to display the current channel and program information.
5. Then enter the following sequence: CBL, POWER, and 1-1 (or 0 -1- 1 if access is over 100 channels) 6. Press and hold SET until the LED blinks twice, then release SET. Now when you press MACRO once, the TV will turn on and tune to channel 03. Then the cable box will turn on and tune to channel 11.

INSTALLING BATTERIES

1. On the remote controls back, push the tab and lift off the battery cover. 2. Obtain two (2) new AAA alkaline batteries. Match the + and marks on the batteries to the + and marks in the battery case, then insert the new batteries. 3. Press the battery cover back into place. The tab should click when the cover is locked. 4. Test the remote control by first pressing POWER and then any mode key (e.g., TV). If batteries are inserted correctly, the LED (red light) will blink once.
NOTE: When batteries need replacement, the remote control will stop operating. Remove the old batteries and insert new ones within 30 minutes to ensure all of your programming information is restored.
1. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET. 2. Enter 9 - 9 - 4. The LED will blink twice. 3. Press the destination mode twice (where keymoved keys are stored). The LED will blink twice.

Upgrade Exclusions

Home entertainment or home automation devices controlled by radio frequency (RF/UHF), wired, or ultrasonic remote controls. Only devices controlled by infrared remote controls are covered. Home entertainment or home automation devices not controlled by remote controls. Broken or defective product. Products that operate over 100 kHz. Infrared keyboards and infrared pointing devices (such as mouse substitutes). All products for sale and/or use outside the continental United States, Hawaii,Alaska, or Canada.

Clearing A Macro

1. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET. 2. Enter 9 - 9 - 5. The LED will blink twice. 3. Press MACRO once. 4. Press and hold SET until the LED blinks twice, then release SET.

RE-ASSIGNING DEVICE KEYS

The One For All 8 Device Home Theater Universal Remote Control can be set to control a second TV,VCR, DVD player, or other device. For example, to control a TV, a cable box, and two VCRs, you will need to re-assign the unused AUX key to operate the second VCR as follows: 1. On the remote control, press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

SEARCHING FOR YOUR CODE

If your device does not respond to the remote control after trying all codes listed for your brand, or if your brand is not listed at all, try searching for your code. For example, to search for a code for your TV: 1. On the remote control, press TV once. 2. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET. 3. Enter 9 - 9 - 1. The LED will blink twice. 4. Aim the remote control at the the TV and slowly alternate between pressing POWER and TV. Stop when the TV turns off.
NOTE: In the search mode, the remote control will send IR codes from its library to the selected device, starting with the most popular code first.

USING CHANNEL SCAN

In the TV, VCR, DVD, SAT, and CBL modes, use the FAV key to start a 3-second scan of all favorite channels (if programmed see Programming Favorite Channel Scan below) and/or all channels for the selected mode. 1. If Favorite Channel Scan has been set up, skip to step 2. Otherwise, press TV, VCR, DVD, SAT, or CBL once. 2. Press FAV once. If Favorite Channel Scan has been set up, scanning of favorite channels will start and, upon completion, continue to scan all channels upward for the same device. If Favorite Channel Scan has not been set up, scanning will start with the current channel, then proceed to the next channel up, and continue until all channels of the selected device is scanned. 3. To stop scanning channels at any time, press any key once (except the backlight key ).
2. Enter 9 - 9 - 2. The LED will blink twice. 3. Press VCR once, then press AUX once. 4. The AUX key is now ready to be programmed for your second VCR. See Programming Device Control. To re-assign other device keys to the AUX key, repeat steps 1 through 4 above by substituting the sequence from the below chart:

PROGRAMMING DEVICE CONTROL
The One For All 8 Device Home Theater Universal Remote Control is preprogrammed at the factory to operate an RCA TV and VCR, a Motorola (GI) cable box, an RCA satellite receiver, a Pioneer CD player, a Toshiba DVD player, a Pioneer audio receiver/ amplifier, and a One For All home automation device. To control devices other than the default brands, perform the following steps; otherwise skip this section:

NOTE: For TV/VCR Combo control, see the next section.

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM: If you own a satellite that uses code 0775 (Express Vu and Echostar) and your exit key does not work, perform the following sequence to activate this feature/function. SOLUTION: 1. Press the CBL/SAT key 2. Press and hold the SET key until the red LED blinks twice 3. Press 9-9-4, the red LED will blink twice 4. Press SET and release (one blink on LED) 5. Press 3-3-6 6. Press the EXIT key, the red LED will blink twice. The Exit key will now correctly perform the exit feature/function on your satellite. PROBLEM: PROBLEM: LED (red light) does not blink when you press a key. LED blinks when you press a key, but home entertainment device does not respond. SOLUTION: Replace batteries with two new AA alkaline batteries.

5. To lock in the code, press and hold SET until the LED blinks twice, then release SET. 6. To search for the codes of your other devices, repeat steps 1 through 5, but substitute the appropriate device key for the device you are searching for.
Operating The Home Theater Mode
After programming the Home Theater key (see the previous section), you simply activate this mode by pressing HOME THEATER once. Instantly, groups of remote control keys will be assigned to their programmed devices. For the above example, pressing HOME THEATER once would assign the following keys to the VCR, TV, and Cable Box:

NOTE: Use the AUX key to program control of home automation devices or miscellaneous audio services and video accessories. Alternately, use the AUX key to program control of a second device type (e.g., a second VCR; see Reassigning Device Keys).
PROGRAMMING FAVORITE CHANNEL SCAN
In the TV, VCR, DVD, SAT, or CBL mode, you can store a list of up to 10 favorite channels, in any order, that will be immediately scanned when FAV is pressed (see Using Channel Scan).
NOTE: Only channels of one mode can be stored for Favorite Channel Scan.
You can also re-sassign another unused device key by substituting an open key for the AUX key in the above chart and performing the sequence. For example, to re-assign an unused SAT key as a 2nd CD key, perform SET - 9 - 9 - 2 -CD- SAT. When a re-assignment is done, the LED (red light) will blink twice to confirm your choice.At that time, you will need to program the remote control for the new device (see Programming Device Control).
Use VOL+ (or VOL-) to raise (or lower) the sound volume.
Press MUTE once to turn the sound off or on.

CHECKING THE CODES

If you have set up the remote control using the Searching For Your Code procedure, you may need to find out which four-digit code is operating your equipment. For example, to find out which code is operating your TV: 1. On the remote control, press TV once. 2. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then release SET.

INTRODUCTION
The One For All A/V LCD 8-Device With Learning Universal Remote Control (URC-8910) is our latest high-performance universal remote control. It is designed to operate up to eight home entertainment devices, including TV, video, and audio components. Moreover, this remote control contains sophisticated technology that will allow you to conveniently consolidate the clutter of all of the original remote controls used in your home entertainment system. Use EXIT to exit from your selected devices guide or menu. Use INFO to display the current channel and program information. Use VOL+ (or VOL-) to raise (or lower) the audio volume.
Press MUTE once to turn the audio off or on. In the TV, VCR, DVD, SAT, and CBL modes, use FAV to scan favorite channels and/or all channels.See Using Channel Scan and Programming Favorite Channel Scan on page 41. Use CH+ (or CH-) to select the next higher (or lower) channel.
Press PREV once to recall the last-viewed channel and to page back one screen on the main menu. In the CD mode, use PREV to turn random play on or off. In the RCVR/AMP mode, use PREV to select the receiver band. Use the keypad (1 ~ 9 and 0) to directly select channels (e.g., 009 or 031). In the RCVR/AMP mode, use the keypad (1 ~ 9 and 0) to select audio sources 1 through 10. Press ENTER once after entering the channel numbers on some TVs. In the CD mode, use ENTER to add 10 to the digit entry (e.g., ENTER and 7 is 17). Use TV/VID to switch the TVs input to view TV or video programs.

Use the transport keys to control your VCR,DVD or CD player,or VOD (Video On Demand) if available on your cable or satellite service. To record a VCR program, press REC twice. Use SLEEP to activate your devices sleep timer (not available for all devices). After programming, press M1 ~ M3 once to run a desired macro (see Using Macros on page 34). After programming, press L1 ~ L4 once to activate a learned function. See Using Learning on page 30. Use PIP to switch the Picture-In-Picture feature on or off (if available on your TV). Use MOVE to move the window picture to different positions in the main picture. Use SWAP to switch images and sound between the main and window pictures. After programming, use COM SKIP to skip commercials on selected devices (i.e., TV, VCR, DVD, CBL, and SAT). See Using Commercial Skip on page 48. Use to turn on or off the key backlight. When this feature is activated, keys will remain backlit for 5 seconds after the last key press. In the setup mode, backlighting will remain on for 30 seconds. Use SET for all programming sequences.

PROGRAMMING DEVICE CONTROL
The URC-8910 remote control is preprogrammed at the factory to operate an RCA TV and VCR, a Motorola (GI) cable converter, an RCA satellite receiver, a Pioneer CD player, a Toshiba DVD player, a Pioneer audio receiver/ amplifier, and a One For All home automation device. To control devices other than the default brands, perform the following steps and repeat them as needed for each device to be programmed; otherwise skip this section:
NOTE: For TV/VCR Combo control, see Programming TV/VCR Combo Control on page 12.
Turn on a device (e.g.,VCR or DVD player) and, if applicable, insert media (e.g., cassette or disc).
NOTE: Please read steps 2 through 8 completely before proceeding. Highlight or write down the codes and device you wish to program before starting step 2.
On the URC-8910 remote control, press and hold SET until you see the display change from the current device and time to [CODE SET].
NOTE: The device, its code, and time are examples. Your remote control settings may be different. NOTE: To exit programming at any time, press EXIT once or allow 30 seconds of inactivity to lapse. You will see [EXIT SETUP] as the remote control returns to normal operation. NOTE: [INVALID] means you have inadvertently pressed an incorrect key. Note your error and continue programming.
Press SELECT once to begin programming.You will see the display change to the last-selected device and its current code (e.g., TV and 0051).
Press a desired device key once (e.g., VCR).You will see the display change to the desired device and its current code (e.g., VCR and 0035).
NOTE: Use the AUX key to program control of home automation devices, video accessories, audio services, and other audio or video devices. Alternately, use the AUX key to program control of a second device type (e.g., a second VCR; see Re-assigning Device Keys on page 37).

NOTE: Programming a new macro over an existing one will erase the original macro.
Programming A Favorite Channel
With so many channels available through your cable or satellite system provider, you can program a macro that directly selects a favorite channel with one key press. For example, lets assume your favorite cable programs are on channel 71. Perform the following steps to program a macro key for direct access of this channel:
NOTE: This example assumes the TV tuner is connected directly to the cable line and not through a cable converter.
Press the M key six times until you see the display change to [KEY MACRO].
NOTE: If you go past [KEY MACRO], press the L key one or more times to return to it.
Press SELECT once to begin programming.You will see the display change to [SEL MACKEY].
Select an open macro key (e.g., M1) and press it once.You will see the display change to [ENTER SEQ].

Enter a macro sequence of up to 15 keys. For our example, press the following keys once in this order: TV - 7- 1
NOTE: If you have access to over 100 channels, add a 0 before the channel numbers (e.g., 0-7-1). If the original remote control required pressing an Enter key to change the channel, also press the Enter key after the channel number (e.g., 0-7-1-ENTER). NOTE: An [ERROR] message, followed by [MAX = 15] alerts you that the macro sequence must be 15 keys or less.
After pressing the first key (in the macro sequence), you will see the display change to [SEL TO END]. This message acts as a reminder to use SELECT to end the sequence (see next step).
To end the macro sequence, press and hold SELECT until you see [SUCCESS] appear in the display, followed by [EXIT SETUP]. The URC-8910 remote control will automatically exit the programming mode and return to normal operation.
Now when you press M1, you will instantly see cable channel 71 on your TV set.
Programming A Master Power Key With Instant Channel Selection
A macro key can be programmed to turn on and off your devices as well. For example, lets set up a sequence that will turn on the TV and tune it to channel 3, and then turn on the cable converter and tune it to a premium channel (e.g., 11).
NOTE: This example assumes all equipment is turned off and that the TV is connected through the cable converter with TV tuning set to channel 3.
Perform steps 1 through 4 of the previous section, Programming A Favorite Channel on page 34. However, this time in step 4, substitute another open macro key (e.g., M2). Enter a macro sequence of up to 15 keys. For our example, press the following keys once in this order: CBL - POWER - TV - POWER- 0- 3 - CBL- 1- 1

NOTE: If you have access to over 100 channels, add an 0 before each set of channel numbers (e.g., 0-0 -3 and 0-1-1). If the original remote control required pressing an Enter key to change the channel, also press the Enter key after each channel number (e.g., 0-0-3-ENTER and 0-1-1-ENTER). continued on next page.

Now when you press M2 once, the cable converter and TV will turn on, the TV will tune to channel 03, and then the cable converter will tune to channel 11.

Clearing A Macro

1. Perform steps 1 through 4 of the earlier section, Programming A Favorite Channel on page 34. However, this time in step 4, select a macro key you want to be cleared (e.g., M1 ~ M3). Press and hold SELECT to clear the macro key. You will see the display change to [SEL TO END]. This message acts as a reminder to use SELECT to end the sequence (see next step).
Continue pressing SELECT until you see [SUCCESS] appear in the display, followed by [EXIT SETUP]. The URC-8910 remote control will automatically exit the programming mode and return to normal operation.

RE-ASSIGNING DEVICE KEYS
The URC-8910 remote control can control a second TV,VCR, DVD player, or other device by using the Mode Map feature. For example, to control a TV, a cable converter, and two VCRs, you will need to reassign the unused AUX key to operate the second VCR as follows: 1. On the URC-8910 remote control, press and hold SET until you see the display change from the current device and time to [CODE SET].
Press the M key seven times until you see the display change to [MODE MAP].
NOTE: If you go past [MODE MAP], press the L key one or more times to return to it.
Press SELECT once to begin programming.You will see the display change to [FROM MODE].
Select a mode to be copied (e.g., VCR) and press it once.You will see the display change to [TO MODE].
Select a mode to be re-assigned (e.g., AUX) and press it once.You will see the display change to [SUCCESS], followed by [EXIT SETUP]. The URC-8910 remote control will automatically exit the programming mode and return to normal operation.
The AUX key is now ready to be programmed as your second VCR. See Programming Device Control on page 10.

USING KEYMOVER

The URC-8910 remote control includes a Keymover feature that allows you to map (or copy) keys from one mode (i.e., source mode) to another mode (i.e., destination mode).
NOTE: The following keys cannot be used as a source or destination: TV, VCR, DVD, AUX, SAT, CBL, RCVR/AMP, CD, HOME THEATER, and SET.

Programming Keymover

For example, if your VCR does not have volume control, try mapping the volume and mute keys from TV mode to VCR mode as follows: 1. On the URC-8910 remote control, press and hold SET until you see the display change from the current device and time to [CODE SET].

RESTORING FACTORY DEFAULT SETTINGS
The URC-8910 remote control includes an Operation Reset program that you can use to restore the unit to factory default settings.
IMPORTANT: Executing this program will erase all custom settings, including Home Theater assignments, Macros, Learned Keys, Keymoved Keys, and all device assignments.
Press the L key twice until you see the display change to [OPS RESET].
NOTE: If you go past [OPS RESET], press the M key one or more times to return to it.
Press SELECT once to begin programming.You will see the display change to [CLR SETUP].
Press SELECT once to start the process.You will see the display change to [RESET RAM] as the active memory is cleared, followed by [RESET E2] as the preprogrammed memory is restored.
Then you will see [EXIT SETUP] as the URC-8910 remote control automatically exits the programming mode and returns to normal operation.

ABOUT UPGRADING
The URC-8910 remote control has the largest infrared code library available. However, if you purchase a brand new home entertainment or home automation device, it may not respond to the codes stored in the remote controls memory. If this happens, please contact our Customer Support department (see Customer Support on page 74) to upgrade the URC-8910 remote control. The Customer Support representative will search our entire database for a code that matches your device and instruct you how to enter it into your URC-8910 remote control. If the code for your home entertainment or home automation device is not in our database, we will need to capture the code for that device from its original remote control.A new code would then be created and entered into your URC-8910 remote control. If necessary, the Customer Support representative can instruct you how to begin the capture procedure.
NOTE: One For All reserves the right to replace a returned remote control with a new one of equal or superior functionality.

Upgrade Exclusions

Home entertainment or home automation devices controlled by radio frequency (RF/UHF), wired, or ultrasonic remote controls. Only devices controlled by infrared remote controls are covered. ERROR MESSAGES

Audio Amplifier Functions
Press RCVR/AMP once to control your audio amplifier. Press POWER once to turn on or off the selected device (e.g, RCVR/AMP). Use GUIDE to display your audio amplifiers program guide or setup menu. Use INFO to display the audio amplifiers program information. Use SELECT to set the surround sound. Use L (or M) to adjust the volume higher (or lower).
