Also, an H.C.P.S. (High Current Power Supply) transformer ensures there is power on hand for audio peaks and 192 kHz/24-bit DACs preserve the quality of the incoming signal. Bringing DTS Neo:6 5.1 Decoding for Matrix Surround Sound DTS Neo:6 is an advanced matrix decoder that takes any two-channel source (including VHS tapes, television broadcasts, CDs and DVDs) and expands it into five or six channels. It also provides separate, optimized modes for stereo music materials and matrix surround motion picture soundtracks. Previously, DTS Neo:6 was only available as part of DTS-ES (6.1 and above systems), and no DTS system existed for 5.1-channel systems. DTS have introduced DTS Neo:6 5.1, which like Dolby Digitals Pro Logic II, brings you a more revealing sound from ordinary stereo and a more expansive home cinema experience. Optimum Gain Volume Circuitry Conventional volume attenuation methods must initially drop a signal close to the noise floor at low volumes. Even though the signal is only tainted with a little noise, the amount increases when the signal is amplified. Onkyos Optimum Gain Volume Circuitry adjusts the gain so that less than half the amount of attenuation is necessary. This signal never comes close to the noise floor, and thereby eliminates the possibility of noise contamination that plagues conventional volume-attenuation designs. Low Profile 5.1 Speaker Package with Consistent Performance Designed to fit your living spacenot take it overthe HT-S580s speaker package sounds exceptional, especially with the clean power. All front and center speakers are magnetically shielded to avoid any distortion of your TVs picture. Also, the subwoofers long throw cone woofer will project your bass over a longer distance giving you greater speaker layout options in larger rooms and absorbing low frequency capabilities in smaller rooms.
192 kHz/24-Bit DACs for All Channels The HT-S580 incorporates 192 kHz/24-bit DACs for all channels. You can expect these DACs to give you a comparable audio quality to separate components. With a much higher resolution than the incoming signal, the DACs enable the receiver to generate a more accurate audio playback. Also, the DACs 128x oversampling rate optimizes the signal-to-noise ratio and increases clock jitter tolerance. Youll be hard pressed to find equivalent performance from lower quality converters. CinemaFILTER The tonal balance of a film soundtrack will be edgy and bright when played back over audio equipment in your home. This is because film soundtracks are designed to be played back in large theaters using different equipment. Onkyos CinemaFILTER restores the correct tonal balance for watching a movie soundtrack in your smaller home theater. RI (Remote Interactive) Remote Control with OptiResponse Equalizer Function Onkyos RI (Remote Interactive) remote system simplifies control over the HT-S580 and other connected Onkyo components. When connected with other RI-compatible components, you have operability from the HT-S580s remote controller. Also, you can now fully optimize audio performance with the remote controllers OR-EQ (OptiResponse Equalizer) function. At the press of the OR-EQ button, you can boost the low-and high-end frequencies of movies and music without having to increase volume.
