All decoders built in Size. They make these things too large. Color. Your living area looking like it has mini-tanks all over is out. AM/FM tuner.

TX-SR576
7.1-Channel Home Theatre Receiver

SILVER BLACK

Entry-Level Home Theatre with a Remarkable DifferenceHigh-Def 1080p Video and Dolby Digital Plus Surround Sound
Bringing both high-definition audio and video into an entry-level Onkyo A/V receiver for the first time, the TX-SR576 breaks barriers that were thought impregnable just a short time ago. Thanks to the TX-SR576s HDMI platform, this receiver stands out with three masterful high-def advantages: 1) The ability to switch three 1080p video sources; 2) The scope to handle enhanced Dolby Digital Plus encoded audio; and 3) The capability to integrate and operate compatible components from the leading consumer electronics brands. In recognition of the need for home theatre to adapt to spacious living rooms as well as to cozy apartment spaces, the TX-SR576 features new Audyssey technologies that let you tailor surround sound to your home and ensure an enveloping soundscape, even at low volumes. When it comes to digital music, this receiver draws on Onkyos own technology to spark life into digital audio files such as MP3s.
Processing 1080p Video and Audio via High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI)
With three HDMI inputs, the TX-SR576 can receive and switch the latest high-definition componentsBlu-ray Disc and upscaling DVD players; Xbox and PlayStation 3 gaming consoles; satellite and cable boxes; and media centersfor a pure, one-cable digital connection to an HDTV.The TX-SR576 is capable of receiving and switching 1080p video, as well as processing multichannel surround sound via an onboard Dolby Digital Plus decoder. Blu-ray Disc players. With one remote control, you can control several functions, including Standby,Volume Command and Direct Change. RIHD lets you seamlessly integrate the TX-SR576 with other leading brand-name devices including those in the Panasonic VIERA Link, Toshiba CE-Link, Sharp AQUOS Link, and Samsung Anynet+ ranges.
Correcting Room Distortion and Loudness with Audyssey 2EQ and Audyssey Dynamic EQ
The TX-SR576 uses Audyssey 2EQ to counter distortion created by walls, furniture, and other objects. This technology detects speaker distance, and then sets levels, delays, and crossovers, while also measuring room acoustics. Compared to one-position room correction systems, Audyssey 2EQ covers a much wider listening area. Moreover, it corrects problems in both frequency response and time domain (where most of the problems lie) across the entire listening area. The results are immediately obviousa clear, well-balanced and natural sound. After 2EQ calibration, Audyssey Dynamic EQ solves the problem of deteriorating sound quality at lower volumes. The professionals who create music and movies do so at reference levels much louder than typical home listening levels. When volume is reduced on a standard home theatre receiver, the bass disappears, voices change, and the surround soundstage becomes less enveloping. As volume is adjusted on the TX-SR576, however, Dynamic EQ selects the best possible frequency response and surround levels moment-by-moment, resulting in an ideal listening experience at any volume level.
Dolby Digital Plus Decoding for Multichannel Recordings and Broadcasts
Dolby Digital Plus provides the flexibility and efficiency to deliver more channels of compelling surround sound for high-definition video delivery by cable and direct broadcast satellite (DBS), disc-based media, and online content. The superior coding efficiencies of Dolby Digital Plus enable a high-quality multichannel audio experience without negatively impacting bit budgets allocated for video performance or additional feature sets. The TX-SR576s onboard Dolby Digital Plus decoder directly processes any multichannel source encoded in this format. It also handles the range of Dolby Digital formats usually found on DVD video.

RIHD (Remote Interactive over HDMI) for System Control
The TX-SR576 offers integrated system control with selected HDMIcompatible high-definition displays, DVD and hard-disk recorders, and

Music Optimizer to Support Compressed Digital Music Files
While MP3 or AAC files may sound fine on a portable digital player, the limitations of these compressed files can be exposed when played back through a home entertainment system. Onkyo has designed onboard Music Optimizer technology to improve the quality of compressed audio signals. Compressed music loses a substantial amount of bit information at higher frequencies, so the Music Optimizer technology works to overcome this limitation and enhance audio quality.

Playback of Different A/V Sources in Two Different Zones
With Powered Zone 2 and a Zone 2 line-out, you can enjoy surround-sound entertainment in the main room while you play back a completely different stereo source in a second zone equipped with an amplifier or a pair of speakers.
Fine-Tuning Features, Including Crossover Adjustment and A/V Synchronization
With a wide-ranging crossover adjustment40/50/ 60/80/100/120/150/200 Hzthe TX-SR576 gives you greater flexibility in choosing from a range of speaker packages. You can accurately control bass management to suit your speakers and your preferences. The A/V synchronization feature, meanwhile, addresses the problem of out-of-sync audio and video signals on DVD players using progressive scan. You can delay the audio signal up to 100 milliseconds in 20-millisecond steps to realign the audio and video output.
Bi-Amping Capability for High-Impact Movies and Music
The TX-SR576s surround back speaker channels provide the ambience and effects for movies. They can also be used with the front left and right channels to provide two separate amplification channels for compatible bi-amping speakers (i.e., those with two sets of input terminals). In effect, biamping gives a more powerful, dynamic soundfield for two-channel music and movie sound effects.
