Out of the box, did not work I spent half hour (not counting opening the package it was packed it) trying to get the time set. No luck. GREAT PRODUCT!! I LOVE THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE A SCREW WITH A KIND OF A HANDLE WIRE THING THAT HOLDS THE THING THAT TELLS YOU THE TEMP OUTSIDE....

GREAT BUY I just love this indoor/outdoor thermometer. I live along the Adirondack Parkway in NY and temperature change daily. Performs as expected Works great. I assume the temperature is accurate, although I have never verified it.

AWSTEMPMONITORINGPROGRAM PURPOSE Seventeen AdvanTex AX20 Mode 1B package treatment plants were installed in the vicinity of Alpine Woods Subdivision, Valdez, Alaska during Fall, 2008. The Alpine Woods ArearesidentsandtheAlpineWoodsOversightGrouphaveexpressedconcernthatValdez is a unique enough environment for septic systems to warrant additional monitoring: specificallytheywouldliketobesurethatAdvanTextreatmentsystemsstaywarmenough toproducequalityeffluentallyearround.Afterdiscussingavarietyofdifferentmonitoring programs, theOversightGroup,SiteEngineer, andtheCityofValdezdecidedthebestand most cost effective way to make sure these systems function properly is to confirm that they stay above a certain temperature threshold. This monitoring program requires a minimumamountoftechnicalequipment($500for6temperaturemonitoringstations,12 probes and 44 lithium batteries) and has the maximum benefit. From: Sheldon R. Shaw PE [mailto:srshaw@cvalaska.net] Sent: Tuesday, February 03, 2009 3:51 PM To: Laura Robertson Subject: 5135 wilderness temperature monitor As we discussed, there is some issue with the temperature monitoring equipment I installed today at 5135 Wilderness drive. The water temperature sensor is not connecting to the receiver. The built-in air temperature in the receiver appears to be reading 10 (or so) higher than ambient. Water temperature sensor was calibrated at 31.6F in an ice water bath. Temperatures in the tank ranged from 40.1F to 40.9F during the hour or so I was attempting to set up the wireless receiver. Lowest temperatures were a few minutes after the recirculation pump ran, which makes sense. The air temperature sensor in the pod is working, but has not yet stabilized. There were large air gaps between the pod lid and riser lids and the bottom of the snow pack indicating significant heat loss through the top of the system. Slushy (ripe) snow was present on the top of the pod lid. Ice was present in the center of the riser lids. Note that there is 1-inch of foam in the pod lid and two inches in the riser lids. Photos attached, photo of interior of pod included for Orenco staff to visually evaluate system function. Thank you Northern Soil and Water Sheldon R. Depth of installation was generally guided by these factors: Depth to groundwater, existing plumbing, or proximity to residence. Installation depths varied from flush to existing grade (say 8.5 feet from ground surface to bottom of tank) to "mounded installations" (say 6 feet from ground surface to bottom of tank) Mounded cover typically sloped at 2H:1V from top of pod to existing ground surface. Groundwater was observed (and dewatered during install) at depths from 1 to 4 feet below surface. Fill material consisted of bedding material (fine gravel fairly uniform) and common fill (6-inch minus sandy gravel).
