I shoot camera for a Caribbean media company namely Tobago Channel 5 and i have used this camera on many occasions and i find it particularly hard to ... There is a movie starring Alexandra Holden ca...  Portable, semi-HD quality heavy for alot of hand held shots.

This camera is worth a closer look and a review like this one would take a lot of planning to make the camera justice.

Panasonic delivers yet another winner. This cam is good. The best part about it is that it has amazing video quality. It uses near perfect lenses.

HVX200A is a great camera. Consider the cost. I am now a proud owner of the Panasonic HVX200A. Coming from DVX100... This camera uses P2 cards or you can plug in a Firestore (you have to drop another 2K for that).

The HVX200 was really my first experience with a pro-sumer camera, and in many ways I was impressed, and in other ways I was somewhat apprehensive. Why ever use tape again, ever. The option to shoot in so many different compression formats is great. Even if you arent using HD, just standard def.

This cam seems to be perfect. It has its flaws, yes, but it is brilliant none-the-less. It doesnt cost much. Infact, it is very affordable.

charger for panasonic AG-HVX 200 The charger works well with after market ion batteries of which there seem to be a variety of on the market. Tops for the prosumer We used this camera to shoot our short film and it proved to be awesome. The P2 cards were a little tricky to work with.

After using the dvx100 series for quite some time, I never hesitated to go to Panasonic for my HD needs. This camera is worth a closer look and a review like this one would take a lot of planning to make the camera justice. Shoots in 1080p, 720p.

With its AG-HVX200, Panasonic raises the bar again, bringing us professional HD versatility and quality at a lower price than ever. This camcorder is basically great. It has an amazing LCD.

DVCPRO50 Portable VCR (NTSC:525)
A Full-Function, Portable Digital VCR That's Ideal for EFP
Panasonic has developed the AJ-D92 as the first Portable VCR in the continuously growing DVCPRO family. Featuring DC power capability for battery operation, compact size, light weight and a rugged design, the AJ-D92 lets you take digital performance into the field. A host of input/output terminals, including a 26-pin camera connector and 4-channel independent mic/line input, gives the AJ-D92 the flexibility to fit a wide variety of system configurations. Using a L-size cassette, the AJ-D92 delivers 92 minutes of continuous recording in DVCPRO50 mode or a full 184 minutes in DVCPRO mode. Offering DVCPRO50's highly acclaimed digital recording quality in a portable system, the AJ-D92 is ideal for EFP (Electronic Field Production) tasks such as line recording, back-up recording and playback monitoring.
Full 4-Channel Digital Audio
The AJ-D92 combines superb pictures with outstanding digital audio featuring 48-kHz sampling and 16-bit quantization. The AJ-D92 provides 4-channel recording and playback in DVCPRO50 mode, and 2-channel recording and playback in DVCPRO mode. Four audio input/output channels each with independent adjustable recording and playback levels allow field recording with four microphones. You can also record onto one analog/cue audio channel, with CH1/CH2/ MIX selection for the recording signal.

26-Pin Camera Connector

The AJ-D92 connects to most current EFP cameras and lets you select either composite or component video input. The REC and REC Pause functions can be controlled by the camera trigger for enhanced recording performance.
4:2:2 Digital Component Video
Thanks to DVCPRO50's 4:2:2 component video recording and playback, the AJ-D92 delivers the quality demanded for high-end video productions such as TV commercials with chroma key, multi-layering and computer graphics. The 3.3:1 compression ratio means that picture degradation is minimal during both compression and decompression, so the 4:2:2 images retain their superior quality.
DVCPRO50/DVCPRO Switchable Recording and Playback
The AJ-D92 can record and playback in both DVCPRO50 and DVCPRO, and it accepts both the L and M cassette. In DVCPRO50 mode, the AJ-D92 can record up to 92 minutes on an AJ-5P92LP*1 compact and metal particle 1/4" cassette tape. In DVCPRO mode, recording time is doubled*2 to a full 184 minutes.
*1 An AJ-5P92LP cassette tape that has been recorded in DVCPRO mode (25 Mbps) can be played back only by VCRs that support DVCPRO 184-minute tapes. *2 When recording in DVCPRO50 mode using a DVCPRO tape, the recording time will be half that indicated on the cassette.

Auto Back Recording

Simultaneously pressing the REC and Pause buttons activates the Auto Back function, which seamlessly joins the next recorded scene to the previous one.
Color Playback in the Field
Equipped with a BNC terminal for composite video output, the AJ-D92 can provide playback of color images on a monitor TV. The built-in character generator allows superimposing with time code control. For simple monitoring, video and audio can be output via the AJ-D92's RCA terminals.
AJ-A95 External Remote Controller (optional)
Connecting the optional AJ-A95 to the AJ-D92's 9-pin terminal gives you convenient remote control operation. The AJ-A95's jog & shuttle dial provides smooth, easy searches when playing back tapes.

Additional Features

Built-in SMPTE time code generator/reader On-screen set-up display Corresponds to phantom microphone (+48 V/+12 V) REC review function REC inhibit on/off switch Headphone and earphone outputs with volume control

Portable, Rugged Unit with DC Operation
The AJ-D92 features a compact design, light weighs only 13.0 lbs. (approx.), and is equipped with a handle for easy carrying. It can be powered by a battery pack (AU-BP402) that snaps into the body, or by connecting an AC adaptor to the AJ-D92's DC input terminal. The AJ-D92's low power consumption only 27 watts during recording adds to its in-the-field convenience.

Microphone x 4

Sturdy, Reliable Design
Built for use in the field, the AJ-D92 body features a reinforcing protector inside a tough magnesium alloy shell. The tape slot is protected by a full cover that locks out dust, rain and splashes.
